The Aura of a Broken Dragon

Chapter 11: Chapter 11

Another couple of days went by, Issei was getting worried. Learning how to use a few sticks and some magic to cook some food that he found, drink some water, and maintain food hygiene and he was perfectly fine with his needs. Now, he needed to deal with his wants, and he wanted Ddraig to wake up. He had tried summoning the Boosted Gear, but what came out was an unresponsive sacred gear that wouldn't work. He didn't know what exactly transpired when that blue-haired lady appeared, but he didn't like it. He guessed that Ddraig had fought against her since he knew that he wasn't on the level of that woman and seeing Ddraig's tone and him speaking with the woman in anger and contentment, he guessed that it took a bunch of energy out of Ddraig, but he should be able to wake up soon. Even then, when Ddraig was tired, he would only sleep for a little while, not this long.

"Still, I have to continue training... What was I going to do with my Aura without Ddraig's guidance?" Issei sat down and began thinking. He continued his physical conditioning, keeping his body up to par with his magical powers increasing. "I have already used some of these beasts as combat partners..." Behind Issei was a huge pile of beast corpses, from magical bears, regular bears, and monster rabbits the size of large humans, they all fell to Issei.

However, the purpose of training with them was for Issei to gain more experience in fighting these monsters. He watched the beasts, from their neck and below to see where is the point where he could predict where the opponent will attack from, turns out that if he looked at their upper chest, he could see what they are about to do from his peripheral vision. Rather than looking at their hands and legs for indication, he would rather get the whole picture and not be fooled by their hands and legs.

*Rustle*

A strange wind blew past his face coming from behind him, turning around Issei decided to explore. He may have been foolish to do so, but he would make sure that he was somewhat further away from the source of the wind. Slowly, he rushed toward where the source was going.

The rustling continued, and Issei ran faster and faster trying to catch up to whatever was making that sound. However, once running for a few minutes, he stumbled upon a small open area. Rather than walking into the area, he looked around to make sure that he wouldn't fall for a trap. Crouching down, he tried his best to sense anything around.

Issei's remained calm as he cautiously scanned the surroundings of the small open area. He knew better than to rush into unfamiliar territory without thoroughly assessing the situation. He crouched down, his senses on high alert, as he carefully examined the area for any signs of traps or hidden dangers.

The open area was bathed in dappled sunlight filtering through the dense canopy of trees above. The grass under Issei's feet was slightly damp, indicating recent rainfall. His eyes darted from one tree to another, searching for any unusual signs or disturbances. The rustling sound that had led him here had ceased, adding to the eerie silence that enveloped the area.

Issei took a deep breath and focused his senses, attuning himself to the subtlest of details. He closed his eyes momentarily, relying on his instincts to guide him. When he reopened his eyes, he began to meticulously examine the ground for any anomalies.

He noticed a few small pebbles scattered haphazardly on the forest floor, leading towards a particular spot. Issei's curiosity piqued, and he followed the trail of pebbles, his movements deliberate and cautious. As he approached the designated spot, he noticed a faint outline in the grass-an almost imperceptible indentation.

Kneeling down, Issei gently brushed away the overgrown foliage to reveal a concealed trapdoor, partially hidden beneath the thick vegetation. The trapdoor appeared to be made of weathered wood, its hinges rusted with age. It was evident that the entrance had not been opened in quite some time.

'Humans couldn't be underneath this trapdoor. It wouldn't make sense... They wouldn't have been able to move faster than me running. Issei continued thinking, there was no way that he was going to enter this. He only had one more chance at life and he wasn't going to waste it with such a foolish risk. Backing away, Issei placed a small little orb of his magic, moving away and hiding underneath the trees, placing himself within the bushes, Issei simply snapped his finger and a small little explosion occurred.

This explosion alerted someone as a few seconds after the explosion, a fallen angel began peeking out through the trap door. Looking around, the fallen angel moved from the trap door and began soaring through the sky. "Humans... Ignorant little vermin, they seem to think playing around with their gadgets is a good idea. Looks like I'll have to kill you vermin."

'Why is he resorting to killing again? Why do they all resort to killing? Why do I always have to deal with these monsters?' Issei thought upon hearing what the fallen angel said. That was when he began seeing the expression of disgust on the fallen angel's face... It reminded him of Raynare. 'Is the supernatural world just killing off humans when need be? Do they just see us all as vermin?' Issei began thinking deeply.

There was no Ddraig around to stop his deep thoughts from taking over.

Ever since his fear of women appearing, the lifeless face of the dead woman at the church where he guessed Raynare hid around, Issei began losing control over himself. From going from a peaceful world... Where he was "cared" for by many, to see the reality that people, humans, the supernatural world, and women wanted him dead. Ddraig was there pressing those feelings, but now he wasn't. Issei anger began increasing. However, his thought train was interrupted when he heard the fallen angel zooming through the sky.

However, what Issei noticed was that... there was no other fallen angel that was coming out of the trap door. There was no way that a lone fallen angel was here, the fallen angel only had two wings, similar to Raynare. Issei watched as the fallen angel began forming light spears... Anger was building within Issei as he watched the fallen angel. That was when he finally decided to move, forming a small little ball at the tip of his finger, Issei pointed it straight at the fallen angel's head and...

*BOOM*

Feathers were all that could be seen falling down onto the ground. Issei began walking toward the trap door, smiling while beginning to expand his power. They weren't going to come out, and Issei began feeling his anger beginning to increase. He knew that he didn't have Ddraig with him, the Boosted Gear wasn't going to be on his side, but he was still strong enough for these fallen angels. With his right hand, Issei condensed a huge portion of his power and threw it right into the trap door. In seconds, he could hear screams as he snapped his finger and a huge explosion surfaced on the ground. Leveling the trees around, Issei watched as a larger portion of black feathers began raining down onto the ground. He didn't know how many he killed, but he knew that it wouldn't end then.

As Issei stood amidst the aftermath of the explosion, black feathers littering the ground, a sinister presence began to fill the air. The distant sound of beating wings grew louder and more frantic, accompanied by the anguished cries of fallen angels. Issei's display of power had attracted the attention of numerous fallen angels, and now they were descending upon him with fury in their eyes.

Hundreds of fallen angels materialized in the sky, their wings outstretched as they descended upon Issei like a swarm of vengeful creatures. Issei's eyes narrowed, determination shining through as he prepared himself for the incoming battle. He knew he was about to face a formidable challenge, but he couldn't back down now.

The fallen angels attacked with a flurry of energy blasts, their collective power overwhelming. Issei swiftly dodged and weaved through the onslaught, his instincts and senses were guiding him through the overwhelming onslaught of attacks. However, the sheer number of opponents was a disadvantage he couldn't ignore. For every fallen angel he incapacitated, two more took its place.

Issei fought valiantly, utilizing his magical abilities to counter their attacks. He summoned barriers to shield himself from the relentless assault, retaliating with powerful energy blasts of his own. Each clash reverberated through the forest, causing the trees to tremble and the ground to shake.

The battle raged on for what felt like an eternity, with Issei pushing his body and magical reserves to their limits. Despite his efforts, the fallen angels' numbers seemed endless, and his strength began to wane. Fatigue settled in, weighing down his limbs as he struggled to keep up with the relentless onslaught. 'Damn it! I'm beginning to lose my ground.'

The fallen angels, sensing Issei's weakening state, grew bolder in their attacks. They began using even more light spears to try and pierce through Issei's body. However, Issei's body bore the brunt of their assault, bruises, and cuts forming with each spear striking him. Blood trickled down his face, his vision slightly blurred, but he refused to yield.

With his back against a tree, Issei fought tooth and nail, channeling every ounce of his remaining strength. His fists and feet flew with ferocity, his attacks landing with precision and power. But for every fallen angel he incapacitated, several more pressed forward, overwhelming him with their sheer numbers.

Issei's body screamed with pain, his muscles protesting each movement. His vision began to swim, and his breathing grew labored. The fallen angels sensed his vulnerability, seizing the opportunity to strike at his weakest moments.

"Push now! He must be taken down." One of them screamed which was followed by the entire crowd of fallen angels screaming and applying more pressure on their onslaught.

'Death... No matter where I go. It tries to follow me.' Issei continued watching, seeing each one of the expressions of the fallen angels, all being the same disgusted expression. It began reminding him of the people at his school. ... No matter where he went, they all looked at him in disgust.

Ever since Issei had finally gotten rid of his perversion toward women because of his new trauma, he began the realization of how people truly saw him in school. They saw him as a waste of a person. When they said that they thought he would have been better off dead, were they telling the truth? Issei thought that they were joking.

"The world doesn't care about you... They only care about themselves."

He remembered what his partner told him. Issei began smiling through the pain, he was only smiling while staring deeply at one of the fallen angels, he had four wings and seemingly was the commander.

'Partner, you were right. I wished I had awakened you earlier beforehand. 'Issei continued smiling while taking on each light spear. He was leagues beyond the fallen angels in front of him, but with the huge numbers and the vast variety of powers between the fallen angels, he was beginning to lose.

"Why the hell are you smiling?"

Issei responded, "I'm just imagining your face carved with the feathers of your fallen brethren."

The onslaught continued, and Issei's entire body was filled with burn marks, bruises, and cuts, but he didn't falter. He kept his smile, and he began watching as the fallen angels started to lose their motivation. He was waiting for them to lose their motivation to fight. He was still preserving his magic to carry him through the fight since his physical capabilities were getting to their limit.

"What the hell is he?" That was what he wanted to hear. He wanted to continue smiling, giving them the feeling of pure fear upon seeing his face. Seeing that their efforts were amounting to nothing. Slowly, the fallen angels began slowing down their attacks, slowing down everything that they were doing, some even stopped and began backing away.

"You done? Because it's my turn." Those words sent shivers down.

"What the hell? His body looks like it's a burnt crisp. There's no way that she would-" And his body blew up into feathers.

"What were you saying again?" Issei appeared right in front of where the fallen angel was supposed to be. "Something about me not being able to move?" Issei's body was covered in his own magic, it was able to keep him being able to move around.

His body was screaming at him, but his rage was screaming for him to continue. All these fallen angels in front of him wanted to kill him like she wanted to do, but he wasn't going to let them kill him again.

No...

"Never will I ever be hurt like that again." Issei whispered. Beginning to clench his hands in pure rage... Looking at all these fallen angels in front of him... "Never will I ever be hurt again..." He repeated to himself while the other fallen angels looked at him with confusion. What was he on about?

Looking into their eyes... Issei began seeing the looks that he was familiar with. The Kendo club women at his school. They looked at him with the same disgusted expressions. They wanted to kill him. The Kendo women wanted to kill him. Raynare wanted to kill him. These fallen angels wanted to kill him.

Issei began thinking, his anger, sadness, and desperation began increasing. Why? Why couldn't he be loved? Why couldn't he be living a peaceful life? Why did this all have to fall onto him? He was now basically a fugitive.

Grabbing the nearest fallen angel by the neck, Issei began twisting the fallen angel's head until he exploded into feathers. Issei began twisting the fallen angel's head until he exploded into feathers. He was beginning to fall into a state of panic and realization. The problem was...

There was no Ddraig to bring him back to reality.

Slowly, a familiar deep bluish aura began spreading throughout the brown-haired boy's body. The aura was giving this sensation of sadness and deprived of happiness. The aura began melting the very ground that the boy was laying upon... The fallen angels around Issei, the nearest ones, began feeling the heat and began slowly melting. They backed off before they could take significant damage, but they watched as Issei continued saying.

"Never will I be hurt again!" Issei with one final screech exploded, expanding his aura throughout the battleground that they had created, melting every single fallen angel on the surface of the battleground and leaving no traces of their existence.

The explosion melted everything within the area leaving Issei in the air with his eyes filled with nothing but blood trailing down to his chin.

"Who's next?" His voice echoed throughout the battlefield. That was when even more fallen angels began appearing through the trap door. It was as if a legion was underneath the trap door. However, this time they had six wings, and most of them with four wings.

"Let the blood bath begin..."
