After a second, Kevin broke out in a cold sweat. What seemed like a second felt like hours searching for what he wanted. He was glad what he found could be learned immediately and it was based on cultivation which he had been doing for some time.

“Alright, first I have to create a space for this energy within me.” Kevin repeated what he saw so he would be sure.

Soon enough, after a few minutes, the room’s temperature and flames began to swirl around Kevin’s body and soon into his core.

Kevin stood up and opened his palm and fire settled half an inch above his palm.

“Nice!” Kevin said and reached for Argit who was still frozen. His palm covered the top of Argit and steam began escaping slowly. But something caught Kevin by surprise.

His eyes widened as he stopped what he was doing to observe closely. He looked at the frozen Argit that reflected his reflection and saw a red colour around his head.

“Don’t tell me…” Kevin muttered softly as he grabbed a handful of his locks and he almost screamed in horror.

“Why is my hair red?” Kevin asked himself as images of the knowledge he decided to use from his memories also spoke about one of the effects of cultivating void flames meant that the user was usually known for spotting red facial hair or red hair in general.

“ARGIT! You owe me big time!” Kevin shouted as heat waves escaped his body and melted Argit's frozen state completely.

Coughs filled the room until Argit was able to get himself.

“My life was hanging on a thread!” Argit complained as kept tapping his chest to adjust his breathing.

“Just little bubbles of air that finished a minute ago. I could have died, ahhhhhh… You owe…” Argit said but stopped mid-sentence when he noticed Kevin’s long red hair falling over his shoulders.

“Did you stop by the barber shop to get your hair dyed while I was dying?” Argit asked, clearly bewildered by the sudden change.

“Argit! You owe me your life.” Kevin said as he leaned on his mom’s car.

“Haha, what do you mean? I…”

“You got frozen by Ben. I could have left you, or sold you out to people you still owe.” Kevin remarked as the colour in his eyes turned red as well.

“Tch, whatever. You wanted to sell those crystals right? Volcanus has been on my case on how I go those crystals you gave me his minions tested it for something and it pleased him. I will clear my debt with him if you can set up a meeting with him.”

Kevin instinctively looked up as he picked up on Ben and Gwen approaching his location and estimated at least ten minutes before they arrived at his location.

“Is he still at that old airfield?” Kevin asked as he walked to his car.

“Yeah. Hey, what about my payment for the phone?” Argit asked with a gun pointed at Kevin.

“Put that toy away. I saved your life, you're welcome.” Kevin turned to see Argit with a pointed gun at him but dismissed it.

“I don’t what’s with you, Kevin. You’ve changed. You’ve become overconfident, but this gun I am holding is the real deal. It’s not the fake one I sold.” Argit said as he charged up his weapon.

“You really want to kill me? Are sure about that?” Kevin asked without turning back.

Argit’s smirked at that and began walking closer to Kevin until he felt heavy and scared for his life. Seconds ago, he held power in his negotiation but now he felt like leaving no running, but he couldn’t. He felt anger and pride coming from Kevin which made him feel pressed and dizzy.

Argit was about fainting when he heard Kevin tick his tongue and the pressure he felt vanished! He touched his body to confirm if he wasn’t dreaming and noticed he was sweating. He was already wet from the ice melting on his body and cold but now he didn’t feel cold but looked at Kevin again to check if it was the same Kevin he knew.

“Kevin! Explain yourself! What are you doing with this criminal? I shouldn’t be surprised, it was only a matter of when.” Ben raised his voice as he walked into Kevin’s personal space.

“Huh? Kevin?” Ben asked taking another look at Kevin.

“So what now? Are you going to turn into an alien and fight me? Save it, you will lose.” Kevin said as his hair moved on their own.

“Ben! Kevin! Now’s not the time to fight!” Gwen said but Kevin blurred past Ben and appeared in front of Gwen and caught something.

“Argit.” Kevin said in a low cold voice.

“Huh?” Gwen and Ben uttered at the same time when they saw how fast Kevin moved but they hadn’t caught on to Argit’s sneak attack.

Argit attacked again but Ben ducked away in time to slam on his dial and Kevin caught Argit’s quills bare-handed.

Gwen was amazed and blushed at Kevin’s response to her safety but soon got ready for battle as Ben transformed into a little white-coloured alien that looked like it wore a headset and a white jumpsuit.

“Echo Echo.”

Argit immediately opened Kevin’s car, grabbed a handful of crystals from Kevin’s bag and ran away, breaking a makeshift window made out of planks nailed shut.

Immediately after transformation Ben split into two more copies of himself and began pursuing Argit.

“Thanks, Kevin, you didn’t have to.” Gwen said with her head down.

“Yes, I didn’t have to. Your cousin is getting on my nerves slowly, you better talk to him. I am getting tired of getting yelled at.” Kevin said as he flew off, breaking the ceiling in his wake, leaving behind Gwen who appeared deep in thought about Kevin’s last sentence but decided to join the battle for now.

Argit never stopped running but rained down quills to slow down Ben, but Ben kept repelling them with sonic screams until Argit was surrounded by multiple copies of Ben at which he resorted to a wide area of attack to get all that stood in his way which he succeeded at.

Kevin watched from above as flames danced around his palms.

“This fire is too violent. I have to master it.” Kevin said to himself as he closed his fist.

“You really are full of surprises. I didn’t know you could do that without turning to heatblast. Is that why your hair is red?” Gwen said as she walked up to his position in the sky with her mana discs.

“You are awfully smart.”
