“This is my mom’s car and that fool doesn’t even have the money to pay me even if I beat I beat it out of him!” Kevin cursed loudly as he stepped on the pedal and zoomed off.

Ben followed them with no problems even though it was his first time transforming into this kind of alien, his versatility in alien transformations was very high after all.

Several thoughts ran through Kevin’s brain in split seconds as he thought of ways to get out of this without destroying his mother’s car. After Kevin survived touching the philosopher’s orb barehanded, he could process information quickly and his thought process was faster than usual. His cultivation practice also quickened his thought process and granted him energy telekinesis, he could lift, fold or interact with matter without the need for touch and it only grew stronger the more he progressed in his cultivation journey.

After about half a minute of thinking, Kevin was torn between two options. First, he had to knock out Argit so he could use his Technomorph traits to upgrade his mom’s car temporarily. Two, he distracts Ben somehow to gain a few minutes to master his Technomorph traits so he can pass its DNA through his feet to affect the car’s engine and tires without Argit noticing anything and he can claim he modded the car. After hanging out with the likes of Khan, he had grown to be very cautious and to never underestimate anyone. He underestimated Khans capabilities and he underestimated Fate who was kind enough to let him live without him knowing, he was done making mistakes that could cost him dearly.

“Option two it is.” Kevin said out loud as Argit looked at him confused.

“Don’t tell me you are not packing heat now. Start firing at Ben!” Kevin commanded and Argit nodded in kind.

“Come here you sucker! I’ll get you for ruining my sweet deal last time!” Argit screamed as half of his body came out of the car to fire.

Before shots could even start flying, Kevin found Argit frozen solid.

“Useless! But good timing Ben.” Kevin said as green and black circuit lines spread from his feet to the gas pedal and into the car's engine.

Within seconds the car gained speed but Kevin did not forget to adjust Argit properly in his seat with the seat belt on as he sped away to the surprise of Ben who was flying fast and Gwen catching up from behind.

“That’s it! No more Mr. Nice guy.” Ben said as more blue gas escaped his mouth and began freezing the road.

Kevin in turn created a crystal ramp to launch his car into the night sky and quickly covered the car in his Technomorph traits. After gaining temporal divinity on planet Sylvie, the alien traits he decided to keep had permanent improvements and that could be seen now as his car turned into one that could fly. Kevin also made sure to tint the glasses dark to prevent Argit from observing too much even though he was frozen.

“Woah! He still has Upgrade!” Ben commented midflight.

Suddenly, a crystalized clone of Kevin with wings flew towards Ben to intercept but Ben couldn’t be bothered as his body immaterialized before the world and Kevin’s clone flew right through it. The clone kept trying for a few seconds and immediately retreated to Kevin’s flying car before Ben could freeze it.

A black and green coat was added to the clone from Kevin’s Technomorphs trait and shot towards Ben again.

“He never learns, does he? At least that’s one thing he hasn’t changed.” Ben commented on the action of the clone coming at him again and became immaterial again.

Kevin’s clone approached Ben at full speed and forced Ben to land by forcefully crashing to the surface.

“What? How is this possible?” Ben asked and proceeded to freeze the clone but the clone arms that were restraining Ben began to widen to cement Ben to the ground.

After two minutes of struggle Ben still froze the clone and broke it apart, freeing himself from its binds.

Ben looked at the clone to find that the material that made it dispersed like fine particles into the air.

Ben looked up at the sky and Kevin’s car was nowhere to be found.

“He’s gone.” Ben said when he heard Gwen catching up from behind and transformed back to his base state.

“He got away.”

For someone who ran on her mana discs the entire time to catch up to Ben and Kevin, Gwen didn’t look or seem out of it, a testament to the incredible stamina she and her cousin gained fighting alien and local threats faster and stronger than they were since they were kids combined with her daily workouts.

“Whoa.” Gwen said as if admiring Kevin’s escape but soon caught herself.

“I mean… Oh no!” Gwen added quickly.

“How could I have let my guard down?” Ben said angrily, moving away from Gwen.

“He’s a liar and a thief!” Ben gestured to the sky.

“That was the old Kevin.” Gwen calmly said to appeal to Ben.

“He’s different now. And we are different too.” Gwen concluded but Ben was still having his doubts.

“I can track him from this.” Gwen showed a handkerchief to Ben which raised his curiosity.

“You kept his sweaty handkerchief?” Ben asked as he was not having it tonight with the expression on his face.

Gwen wanted to explain that he forgot it in the cornfield the last time they were out but kept it to herself. After all, that was not the only reason she kept it.

Without skipping a beat, the handkerchief began to float above Gwen's palm and radiated a pink glow around its edges.

“Got him!”

.

.

After finding an empty warehouse, Kevin flew in with his camouflaged car and parked.

“I can’t believe he is still frozen!” Kevin said as he thought of ways to unfreeze him quickly without breaking him in half.

Kevin then hacked the security cameras and the alarm systems around the warehouse to send signals to his temporarily upgraded car as he sat in a lotus position.

“Alright, let’s go through some of the information and knowledge I have left from the philosopher’s orb.” Kevin said as pain filled his mind.
