The next day,

Kevin got a text from Gwen indicating something urgent.

Immediately, Kevin turned invisible and intangible and flew straight to the location Gwen gave in the text.

Kevin stopped himself mid-flight and remembered not everyone could fly like he could and went back to get his car to drive to the location.

"So, any leads on your Grandpa?" Kevin asked, getting out of his car.

"No, not yet. It's our cousin Ken," Ben said solemnly.

Kevin looked at Ben and Gwen with a serious expression.

"You are not joking, are you?" Kevin asked.

"Yes. He's missing, we need to find him," Gwen explained but was stopped by Kevin who couldn’t help but laugh.

"This is serious, Kevin. His car broke down at Daytona Beach or Lauderdale. He was supposed to be back home from college two days ago," Ben chimed in.

"Haha. Get in the car first," Kevin said as the trio entered the car.

"So, let me get this straight," Kevin began as he drove. "Gwen and Ken Tennyson? What are your folks' names? Sven and Jen? Haha. I'm talking to you, Ben," Kevin laughed, looking at Ben in the back seat and taking his eyes back on the road.

"Yes, our names rhyme and you noticed. Good for you," Ben answered dryly.

"It's just funny. No harm in a little fun," Kevin smiled and put on his favourite music to play.

"It's so sweet of you to help again. Ken took Ben to his first soccer game..." Gwen looked at Kevin with big puppy eyes.

"Football!" Ben shouted.

"But you're not going pro, are you?" Gwen asked, silencing her cousin in the process.

"When his band played, he snuck me and my friends backstage. Ken's the coolest guy in the world," Gwen said, remembering the times spent with Ken.

"After you, of course. You're my roguishly handsome boyfriend that all the girls want," Gwen teased.

"Look at you, you're learning. But he sounds like a chill dude anyway. Let's find him," Kevin smiled at Gwen and fixed his eyes on the road as he stepped on the pedal.

Arriving at Santa Mira after Ben gave a location for Kevin to head for, the team met a rainy weather.

"Welcome to Santa Mira," Ben echoed cheerfully.

"Look at that. You would do well as a map's voice assistant," Kevin teased.

"For a cool guy he picked the lamest spot for spring break," Kevin noted.

"Ken... is a cool guy!" Gwen still defended her brother's coolness.

"And he didn’t pick where his awesome mobile would break down," Ben immediately signed up as Ken's second defence attorney after Gwen to plead Ken's coolness.

"Awesome mobile?" Kevin asked with a smile.

"Yeah... he's got a car," Ben continued.

"That he failed to check before leaving. That’s cool," Kevin teased.

"Sorry, Ken, I can't defend you there. That’s probably a minus-ten on your coolness," Ben thought.

"I say we hit the garages in town, find Ken's car, find Ken," Ben said confidently.

"Oh sure thing, Captain Ben! I would just drive my car, which you didn’t rent or pay gas for, and search through all the garages in town. I mean just how many garages could there be in this puny hole, am I right?" Kevin teased and Gwen shook her head in third-degree embarrassment.

"I actually don’t believe it," Kevin said in disbelief.

"Five… Five garages," Kevin looked like he had just gone through a mid-life crisis.

"One horse town… five garages?" Kevin asked again.

"Thanks for the umbrella, Kevin," Gwen said as she inched closer to Kevin.

"But how do you make it float and follow?" Gwen asked.

"Magic!" Kevin smiled.

"Oh, whatever," Gwen pouted and joined her cousin in staring through a garage window.

"I am not joking this time!" Kevin said, joining the Tennysons but opened the door leading to the garage this time.

"Don’t worry, Kevin is cool. He doesn’t need to break a door to open it," Kevin smiled warmly at the Tennysons who just walked in.

"That’s my cousin's awesome mobile!" Ben said out loud.

"No way," Kevin said, inspecting the car from the garage door.

"See, I told you his car was cool," Ben said proudly.

"I can't believe I am saying this…" Kevin began.

"I know, but Kevin, your car is really beautiful. You don’t need to compare your car to Ken's. It's not about size, it's about performance…" Gwen started with a teasing smile.

"Your cousin's car makes the Rust Bucket look like a Ferrari!" Kevin laughed and walked closer to the car.

"Ah, dirty laundry for mom to wash. The guy really is a class act, an exemplary feminist," Kevin teased.

Ha, I can't deny it now. Khan rubbed off on me,’ Kevin thought, catching himself again.

"I can't defend that, Ken. What's all this laundry for? Say something, Gwen!" Ben pleaded in thought.

"There must be a clue in here to help us find Ken," Gwen came in clutch, bending over in front of Kevin as she searched the car.

Thank you, Gwen! Ken's coolness must be protected!’ Ben thought and winked at Gwen and joined the search.

Gwen saw that wink and smiled knowingly.

Of course, I understood the assignment. Nothing should tarnish Ken's coolness,’ Gwen thought.

Kevin admired the view and went to the hood of the car and opened it.

"Well, well, well. This could be useful!" Kevin said, putting a halt to the Tennysons' search as they gathered behind Kevin.

"What is it?" Ben asked.

"The only thing in here not covered in rust," Kevin answered.

"It's alien tech… projects a field that dampens internal combustion," Kevin said, recognising the tech.

I knew bringing Kevin along was vital to our mission,’ Gwen thought.

"His car was sabotaged," Gwen added.

"Why? Ken's coolness was off the charts that he created too many haters, one of which is aliens?" Kevin asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Too normal. He doesn’t know anything about aliens," Ben added.

"Why would they go after him?" Ben asked Kevin.

"If he didn’t know anything about aliens, he does now," Kevin said.
