The Crazy Adventures of Kevin

CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN: PILLAR HAND.

Immediately after Ben’s transformation into SwampFire he began dishing out his fists, kicks, and flames of justice! He started the hang of this new alien transformation he had used previously and began to prefer it since it had decent speed and power behind each blow, not to mention his epic regeneration abilities which made Ben feel safe in it.

Kevin overlooked the battle from above and anyone brave enough to look in his direction met a swift end. Kevin found this to be good practice to test out his strength and to learn the impact he made holding back and increasing the power of his attacks by little.

Not bad! No wonder my master’s race conquered their galaxy! If you can cultivate, and survive the constant reconstruction of your mind, body, and soul you will keep getting stronger! And my body is the best for this type of cultivation since I am an Osmosian…’ Kevin thought to himself as Gwen, the sheriff, and the young Pyronite were turning the tides of battle to their favour.

Ben then removed the mask of one of the attackers and found out that it was a DNAlien!

Mhmm, I sensed their energy levels were different from humans… yet, there’s still something human about them…’ Kevin thought as he dived down to take a closer look without landing.

“Oh man, these guys are like the aliens we fought!” Ben turned to Kevin who hovered next to him.

“Watch out!” Kevin alerted the others with a shout. He didn’t know what the alien was capable of yet so he crystalized the alien whole with a wave of his fingers as it was about to shoot mucus in Ben's direction.

The scene looked as if Kevin froze the creature in place but the alien was crystalized.

“Hey, that attack reminds me of DiamondHead! Do you still have DiamondHead?” Ben asked as he pointed to the crystalized.

“You could say that.” Kevin replied and observed the alien closely now.

“Gwen, remember how cold it was on their ship?” Ben turned towards Gwen who also drew closer to the crystalized subject along with the others.

“I think they need cold weather. So they are making some.” Ben concluded. At this point, the sheriff was seeing people who seemed to have a lot of alien experience and were not newbies in combat.

The sheriff also noted that they weren’t normal people, but he marvelled at the way these young adults handled the situation calmly and effectively. The teamwork between those three was flawless and he immediately understood that they were in a different league than their local half-human/half-alien.

“That’s not a bad conclusion.” Kevin added. He forgot to ask Raven to send reports of what had transpired in the ship where he ordered Ben and Gwen’s rescue. He could only work with what he had here or risk a bad headache searching his memories about this alien species since he still stored a lot of knowledge from the philosopher’s orb.

Of course. That means the big alien plot is they are installing an air conditioner! Ben concluded as everyone listened but Kevin who sensed a few DNAliens preparing an ambush attack. It looked like reinforcements were called in and ready in formation.

Kevin wasn’t worried about them and flew higher in hopes that they would fire at him, he could use the little electrical energy from their alien rifles even if it didn’t give him much benefits since his energy pool had gotten deeper.

As expected, DNAliens came in quick and hot and began firing at their surprised targets who were left in suspended animation after each attack.

Surprisingly, the sheriff was quick on the uptake and managed to take down one of the DNAliens but was put in suspended animation anyway.

Ben was taken by surprise rather easily which caused Gwen to come to his aid but instead was made the next target.

Seeing all of this from above, Kevin erected a crystalline wall opposite her to stop the attack coming from her and that prompted her to engage in battle.

Meanwhile, a group of DNAliens hit the young Pyronite with their energy rifles but couldn’t affect his being since his body’s temperature was too high to be affected which caused the boy to swell in pride.

“Can’t hit me because I am too hot?” The Pyronite quipped which caused Kevin to grit his teeth. He wished he hadn’t heard that and cursed his acute hearing. The group of DNAliens became agitated and began concentrating their fire on him which prompted Ben to break out of his suspended state and command the crops around him by releasing a gas.

The DNAliens seemed to avoid Kevin since none of their attacks worked on him, some resorted to launching mucus attacks which Gwen immediately stopped and attacked them ferociously which didn’t allow room for Kevin even to do anything.

I guess everyone has gotten stronger… I don’t think my help was even needed. Wait, why am I even concerned about that?’ Kevin thought to himself as he sulked midair.

Ben willed the crops to grow past their limits and bind the DNAliens going after the Pyronite saving him in the process.

“Plenty more where those came from.” Ben said pointing to the weather tower up ahead as he approached the Pyronite.

“We need to take down that weather tower, take care of the guys on top so I can get close.” Ben asked but the Pyronite began to develop ‘cold feet’.

“I don’t know if I can do it. I am really bad at flying.” The Pyronite replied softly.

“Yeah, I had trouble at first too. Let me teach you how I did it.” Ben said, leading the boy to a different area.

“Earth to Kevin!” Gwen yelled as Kevin got out of his daze and landed softly next to Gwen.

“You look upset. Don’t tell me it’s because you didn’t beat up that many bad guys tonight. Don’t worry there’s more to come.” Gwen said cheerfully.

“Look at you talking so casually to a bad guy.” Kevin smirked as Gwen continued to tease him.

It didn’t take long for the Pyronite to pick up Ben's way of flying with heatblast as the Pyronite took a piece of terrain with him and began to fly as if he were surfing.

Ben wasted no time trying to push the weather tower as the Pyronite did his best to take down the DNAliens at the top.

Kevin saw this while he chatted with Gwen, sighed and stretched his palm in their direction.

The Pyronite was about rounding up when he felt something breeze past him but what he saw in front of him after made him widen his eyes.

Even Ben was surprised that he wasn’t feeling anything to push for a second until the noise came after.

What they saw in front of them was a giant dark purple crystalized hand that went through the weather tower at incredible speeds which resulted in the total destruction of the whole tower.
