The Former BOPE Police Oficcer

The sunset was painting the Los Angeles sky with shades of orange and pink when Rafael parked his motorcycle in the garage of the house. He had spent the last hour running on the nearby trails and was back in time for the dinner Gigi had mentioned. She had invited some friends over for a relaxed evening, and Rafael knew that he would inevitably be the center of attention.

When he walked through the door, Gigi was in the kitchen, setting the table with Kendall and Hailey, while Khai played in the living room with some building blocks. The sound of the door closing made Gigi look at him with a bright smile.

"You're right on time," she said, walking over to him and giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"I hope you didn't start without me," Rafael replied, taking off his leather jacket and revealing the muscular arms that discreetly bore the BOPE tattoo.

"Of course not," Gigi replied. "Come on, I want you to meet some people." She led him to the living room, where Kendall and Hailey were already sitting on the couch, chatting. When Rafael walked in, they both stopped talking and turned to him.

"Girls, this is Rafael," Gigi said, with a hint of pride in her voice.

Rafael smiled politely and extended his hand.

"Nice to meet you."

"It's our pleasure," Kendall replied, shaking his hand.

"We finally met the famous Rafael," Hailey joked, laughing.

"Famous?" Rafael asked, arching an eyebrow at Gigi, who laughed.

"You're more famous than you think," Hailey continued. "Gigi can't stop talking about you."

Rafael laughed slightly, awkwardly, but kept his composure. Before he could answer, the door opened again, revealing Kylie Jenner, Stassie Karanikolaou, and Justin Bieber walking in together.

"We're here!" Kylie announced, taking off her sunglasses and walking in with her typical confidence.

"Right on time." — Gigi said, going to greet them. — Rafael, this is Kylie, Stassie and Justin.

Justin was the first to shake Rafael's hand, smiling friendly.

— Man, I've heard a lot about you. — Justin said. — It's a pleasure to finally meet you.

— It's my pleasure. — Rafael replied, shaking the singer's hand firmly.

Kylie and Stassie were more direct, hugging Gigi before greeting Rafael.

— So you're the man who won our Gigi's heart. — Kylie said with a sly smile.

— I don't know if I won her that much. — Rafael replied, giving Gigi an amused look, who laughed.

With everyone gathered in the room, the conversation began to flow naturally. Justin talked about his latest songs, while Kylie commented on her cosmetics line. Rafael listened attentively, but was discreet, answering only when asked something directly.

— Rafael, Gigi told us a little about her past. — Kendall commented. — It must be amazing to have been part of something as intense as BOPE and DCT.

Rafael nodded, taking a sip of water before answering.

— It was a unique experience, for sure. But it was also challenging, both physically and emotionally.

— And do you miss it? — Justin asked, curious.

— Sometimes. — Rafael admitted. — But I value the life I have now. It was an important phase, but I'm in a different place now.

— You definitely don't look like someone who retired. — Stassie commented, observing Rafael's impeccable posture.

— Hard habits to break. — He replied with a smile.

In the middle of the conversation, Khai ran into the room with a building block in her hand, calling for Gigi.

— Mommy, look! — She exclaimed, holding what looked like an improvised castle.

— How beautiful, my love. — Gigi replied, picking up her daughter.

Rafael looked at Khai fondly and then at Gigi.

"She's getting more and more talented," he commented, smiling at the little girl.

"She loves showing Rafael things," Gigi said, stroking her daughter's hair.

Justin watched the interaction with interest.

"You seem to have a way with children."

"I spent a lot of time practicing patience," Rafael joked, making everyone laugh.

As dinner was being served, the conversation took on a more personal tone. Hailey asked Rafael about Brazil, and he began to share stories from his childhood and how his path led him to the special forces.

"Did you learn a lot in operations?" Kylie asked curiously.

"Yes. Much more than combat skills. I learned about resilience, teamwork, and how to value the simple moments."

"It seems like you've seen a lot," Justin commented, his tone more serious.

Rafael nodded.

"Yes, I have." But I try to focus on the lessons I learned and not just the hardships.

As the evening wore on, everyone seemed impressed by Rafael. His humble demeanor, combined with his extraordinary background, captivated the group. When it was time to said goodbye, Kendall and Hailey couldn't help but comment to Gigi.

"He's amazing, Gigi," Kendall said as she hugged her friend.

"Yeah, you definitely found someone special," Hailey added.

Gigi smiled, watching Rafael say goodbye to the others.

"I know."

And as everyone left, Rafael put his arm around Gigi, looking at her with a calm smile.

"I think I passed the friend test."

"More than passed," Gigi replied, leaning her head on his shoulder, feeling completely at peace.
