Chapter 12: Honey, I Am Home (Nightmare Mode) Pt 2
Without a moment of hesitation, Lysia launched at Bane, and he smiled, catching her with ease, even though she hit him like a freight train. The world around them both disappeared for the next thirty seconds as Lysia drank in every part of Bane that she could, and Bane did the same. When they finally parted, Lysia's eyes were glossy and she had a smile that could melt steel.
"I am glad you are back!" She said and kissed Bane again before resting her head on his chest.
"What do you think? Was I gone long enough to make you realize that I wasn't joking about never leaving you?" Bane asked, but Lysia just shook her head.
"No, but I don't like being away from you, and now Nina wants you. Why did you have to leave? Can you just tell everyone no?" Lysia asked, and Bane laughed.
"I am sorry, but you know why I had to leave," Bane said, looking past Lysia at Nina, who was still standing there with her spear and shield.
Letting out a sigh as he saw the longing look in the Valkyrie Queen's eyes that had never been there before, Bane looked around the battlefield that was supposed to be a village. "I am sure that you both have a lot to tell me to catch up, but can we please do that after we rebuild the village? You have both been pretty unhinged while I was gone, and caused a lot of trouble for everyone."
"It is not my fault," Lysia whined, and then turned and stomped away. "Nina doesn't get that I spoke first!"
"You think that you are enough for someone as great as Bane? Do you not understand your mortality?" Nina snapped, causing Lysia to try to pull away from Bane, but he held her without any trouble.
"If you are trying to have a conversation about this, then I suggest that you shut up and wait until you both do as I instructed. While you two yahoos have been fighting for the last month and drinking, I have been getting stronger. While I wish for everything to go back to normal, it is clear to me that I need to get you both back in line before anything like that is possible," Bane growled, and vanished, then appeared outside of the village with a woman under each arm.
Without warning, he dropped them both, and then pointed at the village. "Fix this."
Both women glared at Bane, and then each other, but something was clearly different about Bane. To them, it was as if his power had doubled, and for once they both decided to read the room and face the town to fix it.
"You have some explaining to do," Nina said, but Bane shook his head.
"You both have some explaining to do, and after the village is fixed, you will both apologize to everyone here and vow that this won't happen again," Bane demanded, but the women looked like they wanted to argue, but just let out a sigh and went to work.
Bane stood there, watching them both work without rest for an hour, and then the entire village was good as new. Everyone who had been hurt had healed, and the sun was shining down on the village.
"Now that things are all better, why don't we all head home, and get some food delivered? I have not had anything good since I left this place. Shit, I haven't eaten anything but demon hearts the entire time I was gone!" Bane laughed, making both women give him strange looks. "I will explain, but we should stop at the Shattered Plate first and place an order. Maybe give them another apology?" Bane added, looking at the two women.
Both women frowned, but finally gave in to Bane's request and headed into the restaurant. Bane followed behind, but paused when he remembered something.
"Hey, Lysia?" Bane asked and the blonde elf turned back to him, her white dress no longer torn.
"Yes?"
"How long are you going to punish Ezio?" Bane asked with a grin, and Lysia sighed.
With a wave of her hand, a portal appeared in the air, and Ezio fell out, covered in coal dust. The moment he landed, his black bandages that covered his body tried to rise up and attack him, but Lysia waved her hand again.
Looking up from the ground, Ezio locked eyes with Bane, and tears filled them. "You survived," He gasped out in a weak voice, and then collapsed on the ground.
Bane gave Lysia a narrowed eyed look, and she tossed her hands up.
"Fine!" She pouted, creating a 7th tier Sanctuary spell around the assassin that not only healed him, but also wiped away mental fatigue, even cleaning his navy blue bandages that covered his body.
Hopping up, Ezio hugged Bane. "I am glad you are safe, I thought I was never going to get out of that mine!" he complained, and Bane patted the man's back.
"I am notoriously hard to kill. Many demons tried, even cutting my head off, but I am like a weed that keeps returning no matter how many times you pull me out," Bane joked, and the three others all gave him a funny look.
"I still don't understand why you are so weird," Nina said, shaking her head.
"I am a troll, and I make people's lives hell if they try to take mine. What did you expect? I would just let something like those wimpy demons kill me?" Bane shrugged, and then pointed at the restaurant. "Why don't we all go in, and catch up over some food."
Lysia was about to agree, but Nina's spear suddenly blocked her path.
"We have not settled this yet!" She snapped, and Ezio put up his hands.
"I personally would prefer to go see Morgana," Ezio said, and then vanished in a puff of smoke, but Bane couldn't blame the guy.
Somehow Bane knew this was the calm before another violent storm that would not only be about him, but probably involve him. Nothing is ever simple, and while Bane could have done things differently, he wanted to see just how far he could push his luck with these women. They were both powerful, beautiful, and they had chosen him, but the question was if they were willing to compromise or if it was just going to be his life from here on out.
