The Married Life Of Immortals

Chapter 2: Character Generator

Bane frowned as he stepped out of the portal in a space that felt like an endless void of whiteness. As he did, the portal closed behind him and Onyx unfused from his body.

"Where are we?" Bane asked, and Onyx took off the ring Bane had given him and handed it back.

"Think of this like an avatar building area. I used this same space to design you before you woke up in Dominion Online," Onyx explained as Bane took the ring back, slipping it on his finger.

"Oh? And we are here now why? Or is it that I have to reform everyone before they can enter our world?" Bane asked, and Onyx nodded.

"Correct. I am guessing that you have some idea about what race you want to turn them into, so I suggest you take your time to get them exactly how you want," Onyx said, but before Bane could reply, Onyx pointed a finger at Bane. "While I understand the desire to rush home, if you don't spend time on this now, you will regret it later. You might as well spend some time getting them right while we are here."

Bane pinched the bridge of his nose, and rolled his eyes, suddenly feeling nervous about what lay before him. While this should be a dream come true for any man who had women that seemed as dedicated to him as the demon women were, it just made Bane nervous. It also made him wonder if letting these women even ask was wise.

Only Lysia whole heartedly accepting them could yield any sort of positive outcome, but that was as likely as a snowman surviving in hell. No, it was far more likely that Lysia would not only refuse all of them, but also not look at Bane the same because this clearly stated he didn't think she was enough.

"Gah!" Bane growled, and pulled at his hair. "I really screwed the pooch on this one! Nothing I do from this point forward is going to help me! Bah! I should just send the three of them back!"

Onyx scoffed. "Yes. I am sure that is what you will do. Considering how your word must mean nothing, yes?"

Bane pulled out some of his hair and threw his hands into the hair, sending the nearly shoulder length strands of hair floating to the ground.

"Fine! Whatever! I failed and was tempted, but I am also fine if Lysia says no. I am also going to have to deal with her and Nina... Hmmm... Wait a cotton picking minute! Ha! Eureka! If I can get Lysia to accept Nina, the demons should be easy to add to the mix!" Bane declared with a fist pump as Onyx gave him a worried look.

"Are you sure that is a wise idea? Also, I have yet to see anything but the vicious side of that valkyrie, Nina. Is she even worth the hassle? You know that your wife will probably make her life a living hell," Onyx asked as Bane's smile turned down right demonic.

"Ha! If there was ever anyone that could stand toe to toe with Lysia, it would have to be Nina! Also, why do I care? If this woman is willing to put this much effort into becoming my wife, then I will give her a chance to tell me her feelings," Bane cackled, but then sighed. "In the end, it will be up to Lysia... Anyways, how do I get this avatar builder thing to work?"

Onyx shook his head, and then waved his hand in a circle, causing a display screen like a character builder from an MMO to appear in front of Bane.

"Focus on the energy of the demon women that you want to edit, and their image will appear, along with all the options," Onyx explained, but Bane frowned, looking over to Onyx.

"Why do I need to edit them in the first place?" Bane asked, but then added, "I am sure that I heard something about demons being able to be summoned to our world, right? What is the big deal?"

"Firstly, demons are considered incarnates of pure evil, and having them with you would cause no end in trouble. Secondly, none of these women are actually demons, or they won't be after you crush their demon hearts. Doing this here will release their sparks, allowing them to gain their full personalities. This means that they will change for the better... Mostly," Onyx explained, and Bane nodded, but seemed skeptical.

"Mostly? Why does that not sound very reassuring?" Bane asked, and Onyx shrugged.

"Their basic personality will be retained, but since this is a character generator, you can change certain aspects of their body and mind to make them more appealing to you. You can even change their personality to some extent, but keep in mind that what you change here is permanent unless you reset them to default," Onyx explained, making Bane sigh as he looked at Nia's stats.

Nia:

Sexuality: 2/10 - Due to not having any prior experience in even her past life before becoming a demon, Nia has a low sexual drive and a high purity rating. Her body and mind are both quite virginal, despite being over 220 years old.

Charm: 8/10 - Due to her naive nature, and the fact that she is able to read emotions, she has a natural ability to attract those around her to her.

Body: 6/10 - Despite being an ethereal demon, Nia's body has a rather nice figure due to the way she uses her spirit to form a corporeal body.

Strength: 3/10 - Even if Nia is a demon, she is still a spirit who lacks a true corporeal body. Her strength is that of a weak human, and her constitution is on par.

Dexterity: 7/10 - Nia's body is mostly ethereal, so she doesn't have a lot of weight, which makes moving easy for her. She is also fast enough to avoid most attacks that could hit her.

Intelligence: 4/10 - While Nia is smart enough to learn from her past mistakes and understand things at an acceptable level, she doesn't have a lot of common sense.

Wisdom: 9/10 - While Nia can be naive, she has a good understanding of other's emotions, which gives her a unique perspective on the world around her.

Loyalty: 10/10 - Nia is incredibly loyal to Bane. Despite his past actions towards her and the others, she still sees him as a shining light that gave her the will to escape her past life.
