Chapter 61: Haltina Sea of Trees
"Flower Hashira: Those human traffickers deserved their fate."
"Arche Eeb Rile Furt: Indeed. But Eriri's power is a bit terrifying; she can control people without them even realizing it."
"Kashiwagi Eri: It's not that impressive. It's mainly because they were too weak. If they were stronger, they might have been able to resist my control."
"Chika Fujiwara: Um... if I may ask, how much stronger would they need to be?"
"Kashiwagi Eri: Hmm... Eighth Level, maybe?"
"Chika Fujiwara: Well, that was a pretty good flex. I'll give you a little gold star."
"Arche Eeb Rile Furt: ..."
"Flower Hashira: Eriri, are you planning to head to the beastman's country now?"
"Kashiwagi Eri: Yes, but before that, we're going to take down the human traffickers' base. These people don't deserve to exist in this world."
...
Some time later, Eriri and Arifureta arrived above the city of Fuhren, a neutral commercial city and the base of the human trafficking organization known as 'Graveyard.'
The Graveyard organization sent teams across the world to capture children, whether Human or beastman, and brought them back to Fuhren to be auctioned off, showing no humanity whatsoever.
This time, Eriri didn't waste any time. She swiftly wiped out all the members of the Graveyard organization at their base, erasing them from existence. As for those members who were scattered elsewhere, they were no longer a significant threat, so Eriri didn't bother hunting them down one by one.
The human children who had been abducted by the Graveyard organization were transported directly to the gates of Fuhren's Security Office by Eriri using her spatial abilities. The Security Office, being the city's protective agency, would naturally ensure these lost children were returned to their families.
As for the remaining beastman children, Eriri and Arifureta took them with them via teleportation to their destination—the beastmen nation of Verbergen, located deep within the Haltina Sea of Trees.
...
At the deepest part of the vast forest of Haltina stood an enormous tree, known to the beastman as the Grand Tree Uralt, revered as a sacred site. Because of its sanctity, almost no one ventured there.
However, this usually desolate area suddenly saw the appearance of two stunningly beautiful girls and several weakened beastman children, bringing a bit of life to this otherwise lifeless place. These newcomers, of course, were Eriri, Arifureta, and the rescued children from Fuhren.
Gazing at the massive tree that stood like a wall before them, Eriri marveled, "So this is where the Haltina Grand Labyrinth is located. This tree is enormous."
"Yeah, it's a shame it's become a dead tree," Arifureta remarked with some regret. The giant tree, for unknown reasons, had withered away, devoid of any vitality. However, the trunk hadn't rotted but instead had become as solid as steel.
Eriri smiled gently at Arifureta. "Reviving this tree isn't that difficult. Just watch."
With that, Eriri placed her hand on the trunk of the giant tree and channeled the energy within her, converting it into a potent life force that she infused into the withered tree.
Perhaps because this life force was so abundant, the tree began to revive almost instantly upon contact. New branches sprouted from the trunk, and lush green leaves unfurled from them.
Arifureta and the beastman children watched in astonishment as the tree rapidly returned to life. It was as if they were witnessing the birth of life itself, filling them with an indescribable sense of wonder.
In less than ten seconds, the tree had transformed completely, going from a lifeless husk to a vibrant, green giant. A strong breeze rustled through its newly grown leaves, creating a soft, whispering sound.
In the next instant, the front of the tree trunk seemed to split open, revealing a massive entrance.
"Hmm... this must be the entrance to the Haltina Grand Labyrinth," Eriri murmured as she gazed at the large tree cavity, big enough to accommodate dozens of people.
Arifureta, looking at the newly revealed entrance in surprise, turned to Eriri and asked, "Wait, didn't the anime say you need to clear other labyrinths and obtain proof before the entrance can be opened?"
"Yes, that's true," Eriri replied. "When I touched the tree trunk, I sensed a mechanism inside that could be activated by inputting certain types of energy. This would automatically open the labyrinth's entrance, which is this massive tree cavity."
She paused before continuing, "And since my internal energy contains all types of universal energy, it naturally triggered the mechanism."
"Oh, that makes sense..." Arifureta nodded in realization, then looked back at the large entrance. "So, what should we do about this entrance? Just leave it open?"
"Let it stay open. Anyone who wants to challenge the labyrinth can go ahead. The Great Orcus Labyrinth's entrance is open too," Eriri said casually.
"True. By the way, Eriri, how does the difficulty of the Haltina Grand Labyrinth compare to that of the Great Orcus Labyrinth?"
"You can think of it as similar to the difficulty of the inner 100 floors after the 100th floor of the Orcus Labyrinth."
"That's really tough. I guess anyone who goes in will be risking their lives," Arifureta remarked, knowing a bit about the difficulty of the inner 100 floors of the Orcus Labyrinth.
"Yes, everyone has their own choices, and they must bear the consequences. If they die in the labyrinth, they can't blame anyone but themselves," Eriri said calmly.
Then her tone shifted, and she seemed more excited. "Alright, after we deliver these children to the beastman's settlement, let's go find Shea and meet that silly rabbit."
[Ding, Kashiwagi Eri has started a live broadcast. Members can close their eyes and experience immersive viewing.]
"Kashiwagi Eri: Good afternoon, everyone. We've now arrived at the Haltina Sea of Trees, where the beastman nation is located. What you're seeing now is the giant tree known as the Grand Tree Uralt, and this tree cavity is the entrance to the Haltina Grand Labyrinth."
"Chika Fujiwara: Wow, Eriri, all I can say about your broadcast is one word: professional!"
"Flower Hashira: Professional!"
"Asuna: Professional!"
"Ashen Witch: Professional!"
"Arche Eeb Rile Furt: Professional!"
