Chapter 63
The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide
Chapter 63: Date
Around noon the next day. I was waiting at the clock tower in the center of town to meet Fiera.
While we were having dinner in my room yesterday, we talked about today, and Fiera suggested we meet at the clock tower.
I had planned to leave from the inn together, but she said the atmosphere was important, so she wanted to make it a meeting spot since we had the chance.
This date was a result of a bet with Fiera that I had lost, so it was a bit of a hassle, but I agreed.
As the promised noon approached, I waited in ordinary clothes instead of my usual adventurer outfit, and I noticed some stirring around me.
“Hey, isn’t that girl cute?”
“Yeah. She’s cuter than anyone I’ve ever seen.”
“I’m thinking of going over and talking to her.”
“Don’t! You’re not cute enough for that!”
“Hey! Don’t stare at other girls while we’re on a date!”
“I-I’m sorry, honey! That’s not what I meant! Wait!”
I could hear some couple’s conversation falling apart, but most of the guys around were focused in the same direction.
Then, as the crowd parted to make way, the figure walking down the path was my meeting partner, Fiera.
Her beautifully braided silver hair danced in the wind, and her simple outfit of a white top and black skirt highlighted her natural beauty perfectly.
Moreover, the view of her fair shoulders and legs from her clothing was quite charming, making it easy to understand why the surrounding men were captivated.
“Good morning.”
“Ah, good morning.”
When Fiera stopped in front of me, the expressions of the guys around turned to dismay, and several shot me jealous glares, but I ignored them since they weren’t worth my time.
She was looking at me with expectant eyes, so I went ahead and voiced my honest thoughts.
“It really suits you. I think you’re cute.”
“Mm. Thank you.”
Fiera smiled happily as she thanked me and casually linked her arm with mine. Normally, I would tell her to stop, but since she wanted this date today, I decided to allow it as long as she didn’t cross the line I had set.
(I feel like I’m getting a little more attached to her.)
I didn’t have romantic feelings for Fiera yet, but I could feel myself softening toward her slowly.
This was probably because, in the Underwater Dwelling, she prioritized my feelings and affirmed my past without asking anything.
I had never talked to anyone about my rewinds before, and no one had ever understood or affirmed my actions; everyone looked at me as if I were something to be feared.
Maybe that’s why I was genuinely pleased that she empathized with me and accepted me without saying anything.
“Where are we going from here?”
“Ah, first we’ll head to the market a bit from here. It’s supposed to be a large market with products from other countries, and we might find some rare items.”
“I’m excited! Let’s go quickly!”
“Okay!”
With Fiera pulling on my arm, I walked alongside her down the path to the market.
When we arrived at the market, we immediately started checking out various stalls.
This place was really huge, with sections for food, clothing, accessories, weapons, and more.
We first went to the food section, bought lunch, and sat on a bench to eat.
I played it safe with skewered meat and fruit juice, while Fiera went for a fruit-filled crepe and a juice with fruit in it.
“Do you like sweet things, Fiera?”
“Mm. I do. I also like fruit. I used to eat a lot when I was in the Beast Kingdom.”
“I see.”
She ate everything deliciously, so I thought she didn’t have a particular favorite, but I guess I was wrong.
(Wait a minute, I don’t know anything about her.)
Even though we traveled together, I realized I had never asked Fiera what she did before coming to the Valentine Duchy, what she liked, or what she disliked.
(Well, it’s not important right now. I’ll get to know her little by little.)
However, I didn’t feel the need to know immediately, and it wasn’t a critical matter, so for now, I just enjoyed the meal.
After lunch, we wandered through the clothing section, where Fiera picked out some outfits she thought would suit me and suggested them.
For some reason, there was a fitting room there, and at first, I declined to try anything on because I found it annoying, but after some encouragement from the store attendants, I reluctantly tried some on.
Fiera looked very satisfied, and the shopkeeper seemed oddly fulfilled, so I ended up buying a few outfits before leaving the shop.
Next, we stopped by the accessories section to browse around, but everything was aimed at commoners, so there were no high-quality items.
“What’s wrong?”
While checking out the accessories, Fiera stopped in front of one shop and stared intently at an item.
“Do you want it?”
What she was looking at was a necklace embedded with a golden gem, which was quite expensive for a stall.
“Oh my, you have a good eye, dear customer. This gem is from another continent, brought here by ship. It’s a rare color and not easily obtainable.”
The old lady running the stall explained, but Fiera kept her gaze fixed on the necklace.
“Can I have this necklace?”
“Sure thing. I’ll wrap it up for you, just a moment.”
The old lady took the necklace Fiera was admiring and began wrapping it with care.
“…Is this really okay?”
“You wanted it, right? Then it’s fine.”
“…Thank you.”
Fiera said that sheepishly as she accepted the wrapped necklace from the old lady.
“What’s great, little lady. It’s a present from your boyfriend, huh?”
“Mm.”
Not quite a boyfriend, but I didn’t feel like correcting her at that moment, so I just pretended I hadn’t heard and walked away from the shop.
After walking a bit more, Fiera asked if she could check out something she found interesting.
I asked if I should go with her, but she said it would be quick, so she went alone, and when she returned shortly after, she looked pleased.
“Did you get it?”
“Mm. I found something nice.”
“Great.”
Then, as we continued exploring the central area of the market, taking in the shows and picturesque spots, the sun began to set surprisingly quickly.
“Is it about time?”
“What do you mean?”
“Fiera… if this is unwanted, I’m sorry?”
“Mm? …Ah!”
Seeing the sky at just the right moment, I quietly warned Fiera before picking her up in a princess carry and using wind magic to fly into the air.
After soaring for a while, I landed atop a hill a bit away from the town, gently placing Fiera back on the ground.
“Why the sudden change?”
“I wanted to show you that.”
I pointed toward the sea, and she followed my gaze.
“…It’s beautiful.”
The view before us was the scene of the sun setting into the ocean, with the sky transforming from orange to deep blue, and stars beginning to twinkle here and there.
It was truly an exquisite sight, rendering me speechless.
As the sun completely sank below the horizon, the sky lit up with the glow of a large moon and countless stars shimmering, creating another beautiful and charming atmosphere.
We sat down on the hill, quietly gazing at the sky.
“…El, how did you know about such a view?”
“I asked the innkeeper. They said it’s a bit of a hidden gem, and the scenery is beautiful, so they recommended I come here.”
After hearing my explanation, Fiera leaned a little closer, resting her head on my shoulder.
“I’m really happy. Thank you.”
“If you liked it, I’m glad.”
As we stared at the starry sky for a while, Fiera seemed to recall something and took a small package from her bag.
“This is a present for you, El.”
“For me?”
“Mm.”
I received it from Fiera, using light magic to illuminate it as I opened the package.
“These are earrings?”
Inside was a pair of earrings with purple amethyst stones that were as beautiful as the color of Fiera’s eyes.
“This is a thank you for the necklace. Will you wear them?”
“Well, wearing earrings is fine, but the color of this stone…”
“Mm. It’s the color of my eyes. Do you dislike it?”
Fiera’s face looked a bit sad, but in such a sweet moment, I couldn’t say I disliked it, so I reluctantly accepted.
“It’s not that I dislike it.”
“Good. Come closer so I can put them on for you.”
I had holes in my ears since I used to wear earrings with a binding spell to avoid being kidnapped when I was young.
Now, I wore other accessories, but I leaned my left ear toward her as instructed, and she replaced my earrings.
“Mm. They suit you well.”
“Thank you.”
With earrings matching the color of Fiera’s eyes, I felt strangely marked by her, but I reassured myself it was just my imagination and dismissed that thought.
As the night breeze got a little chilly, I picked Fiera up again and flew us back to the inn.
