Chapter 64
The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide
Episode 64: C Rank Dungeon
The day after my date with Fiera was a day off, and two days later, we found ourselves at the Adventurers’ Guild to obtain permission to enter the C Rank Dungeon “Endless Land.”
As usual, the guild was bustling early in the morning with other adventurers carefully selecting their quests from the request board.
Ignoring the request board, we headed to the reception and stood in the shortest line, waiting for our turn.
Soon enough, it was our turn, and after asking the receptionist for permission to enter the Endless Land, we promptly set off toward the dungeon.
The C Rank Dungeon “Endless Land” was located just a short walk from the gate into the forest, making it more accessible than the Underwater Dwelling.
Moreover, there were quite a number of C Rank adventurers, and the path leading to the dungeon was filled with them.
Walking along with the crowd, we reached the forest in about 20 minutes, and after another 10 minutes, we arrived at the entrance of the dungeon.
As we entered the dungeon, I was a bit surprised by its size.
Despite being just on the first floor, this vast land was so expansive that it was hard to tell where the way down might be.
“This place is even bigger than the Underwater Dwelling,” I remarked.
“Yeah. I can’t even see the walls. What’s going on?”
“It’s probably using spatial magic to expand the rooms,” Rick replied.
“Spatial magic?”
“Yeah. It’s not anything mysterious. The magic bags we use also employ spatial magic, allowing them to hold more than they seem to. And we can’t even tell how long dungeons have existed.”
So, it wouldn’t be surprising if the dungeon core used spatial magic to create the dungeon itself. After all, items imbued with spatial magic can be found in high-rank dungeons.
“I see.”
Aside from a few exceptions, no one knows how long dungeons have existed.
Well, it’s possible that dungeons have existed even before those exceptions, but we had no means to investigate that now.
That said, it wouldn’t be strange for the dungeon core to have used ancient magic to create the dungeon.
“Well, for now, let’s move on. We can’t clear it by just standing here, right?”
“Right!”
After a brief warm-up, we enhanced our bodies and moved as if we had disappeared from the spot.
The ground was merely covered with grass, and there were no real obstacles, just a few large rocks scattered about, allowing us to run easily.
It seemed Fiera, who had been stressed about footing in the Underwater Dwelling, was now happily running along.
As we continued to run, a red bull-shaped monster suddenly appeared in front of us, but Fiera instantly obliterated it, making it no threat at all.
Medium-sized monsters like Purpies and Eagles swooped down from above, but with me creating blades of wind and slashing them away with my sword, they too posed no challenge.
“Hey, is it really worth our time to tackle this dungeon?”
“But it’s so much fun running like this! We don’t have to dive tomorrow, so just deal with it for today.”
Fiera seemed to be letting off some steam, as she accelerated even more with those words.
I figured pushing the point further was pointless and reluctantly decided to chase after her.
Besides, I was genuinely interested in the spatial expansion magic applied to this dungeon, so I wanted to analyze it for future reference.
While I could use detection magic to find the path leading to the lower floors, Fiera was naturally leading the way, so I decided to leave the exploration to her.
Along the way, we passed an adventurer party fighting monsters, but we zipped right past them, leaving not just the adventurers but the monsters themselves frozen in shock.
In that manner, we quickly sped through and reached the fifth floor in about an hour and a half.
“Fiera, you take a little break here. I’m going to check out the walls of this floor.”
“Are you going alone?”
“No, I’ll be back right away. Don’t worry about me.”
“Take care!”
Waved off by Fiera, I, with body enhancement and partially donning the Thunder God’s Garb, moved with the speed of lightning.
“This place is really vast.”
Yet, even after running for about five minutes, I still hadn’t reached the wall of the floor.
“Is this really the wall?”
The wall was like a mirror, reflecting the scenery, and if I didn’t know any better, I would have crashed into it without thinking.
“How interesting. If I could recreate this with magic, it would really expand the scope of battles. But first, I’ll interfere with the magic of this dungeon.”
The reason I had come to touch the dungeon walls was to access the magic of the dungeon core that created this expansive floor and analyze the spatial magic involved.
Even touching the ground would suffice for this purpose, but I wanted to understand the scale and construction of the floor itself, which is why I came this far.
“Alright then. Let’s get started!”
Last time I interfered with the dungeon’s magic in the Underwater Dwelling, monsters appeared because I aimed to seize authority, but this time, since I was only interfering, no monsters would show up.
So I could focus on the analysis without reservation.
(Hmm, so this place really is using spatial expansion. No, at this level, it’s nearing the creation of a pseudo-world.)
If it were just spatial expansion, it would be classified as spatial magic, but in addition to that, it creates monsters and intricately weaves magical veins that can even manipulate the weather and emulate the sun.
This environment could practically be considered a world of its own, employing advanced magic that borders on the creation of a pseudo-world.
“I definitely can’t replicate this now. I might be able to handle spatial expansion, but creating a pseudo-world…”
As a possibility, there were rumored ancient creation magics, but these are even more advanced than spatial magic, requiring unimaginable amounts of magical power.
It’s said that creation magic is the origin of what has now evolved into alchemy, but alchemy is regarded as a degraded version of creation magic.
The reason is that while creation magic can produce items with just one’s own magical power, alchemy requires a multitude of preparations, like materials and magic circles.
“As a magic user, I definitely want to reach that pinnacle, but there’s hardly any information available on creation magic.”
The information I had was only from a book I read in the library of my school in my past life, which had only a brief mention of it, without any details on what kind of magic could actually be used.
However, there are still undiscovered dungeons and uncharted territories, so I concluded that there might be a spellbook on creation magic hidden somewhere, and I released my hand from the wall.
“For now, I’ve grasped the feeling of spatial expansion. Next, I just need to be able to use spatial magic.”
Finishing my investigation, I used magic to return to Fiera just as quickly as I had come.
