The Warlord System

Chapter 62: Marvel Arc - 6

As Tony flew around, he was having trouble accepting the situation. The moment they cleared the dimensional gap, he and Carol immediately began to fly. Only to arrive in time to see the city being overrun by alien bugs.

Or at least that is what Carol saw, for some reason his suit couldn't register them. As far as his tech was concerned, those bugs weren't there. Tony had to disable his HUD and use direct visualization, which annoyingly enough meant he had to aim manually.

Then he got a call from Banner. He answered, "Bruce! I'm head to the tower right now. How is it looking?" Banner responded, "Pandemonium is the best word to describe what's happening. The automated defenses are not responding to these invaders. Ross and A-Bomb are on the ground level doing what they can, Jennifer and Betty are trying to help civilians find cover."

Tony, "I'm having a similar issue with my suit, where are the safe zones and how long before we can start evacuation?"

Banner, "Well to the first, for civilians they're being sheltered in Stark Tower, and the Baxter Building, but the majority of civilians are taking refuge in Central Park. The "important" politicians have hunkered down in the U.N. headquarters. As for the evacuation, I don't know. At the moment the enemy owns the sky, there a ring of enemies surrounding the city, and I can't raise Furry or Shield's Helicarrior."

After dodging some unidentified fleshy object, Tony said, "How about a Role Call? If we know who's in the city, we can organize and maybe create an escape route." The Role Call was a program handled by Shield's computer network. Created due to Shield's need to know where any exceptional individual was at all times.

Banner responded, "That could help, but we still need to reestablish a communication network. Right now, I know the Punisher was last seen holding the line in Harlem, Luke Cage is here being treated for severe acid burns, Vision and Hank Pym are MIA, Janet is working herself into a tizzy trying to figure out what happened to Hank. As for Vision, before he left, he simply said he had something to do, that was about ten minutes before all this went down. Tony the sooner you get here the sooner we can start really pushing back."

Tony, "Okay, I'm on my way. Carol! Can you figure out what's keeping Furry away? It has to be big if he is missing the party."

Carol reluctantly agreed and flew off to the capital. On his way to the tower, Tony noted this purple gunk that was covering the ground and slowly expanding. It was interacting with the buildings in a disturbing manor. Tony put more power into his thrusters, he didn't want to know what that stuff would do to his tower.

...

Khan was standing in the bridge of the Martyr, looking at his inventory. He didn't really use it, but it's where the soul shards are automatically stored once they are harvested. The Soul Harvester had proven very user friendly, not only allowing to search through the list by "typing" the name, but it also showed an image of the person so there wouldn't be any mistakes.

Consuming the Power Stone had a minimal effect only causing minor fluxes in power lines. The Reality Stone, however, was more interesting. It caused characters who were forgotten and not killed to suddenly be relevant, and as far as the locals were concerned, that was how it always been.

Of course, those who died where still dead, but their memory and more importantly their soul was brought forth. Which was why Khan was looking at his haul. Jarella for example, a green skinned beauty who was a romantic interest of the Hulk.

Of course there were other side effects, like Roxanne Simpson, who instead of looking like her comic book character, looks exactly like her movie character, Eva Mendes. Not that Khan minded.

When he first entered this universe, Khan thought he would have to grab what he can and run like a bat out of hell. Of course he had forgotten about his mind control trick. It had allowed him to manipulate the situation so that everyone who could stop him will continue unaware what was happening, for the most part. The more powerful entities that his skills wouldn't have worked on weren't there. The system mentioned that one of a kind multidimensional travelers would be allowed access.

He had already given Wink her mother's soul shard as proof that he would uphold their deal, for now. Honestly, with Vision in pieces and his head and by extension the Mind Stone, being brought to him he wasn't sure why he was still going through the motions.

A small smile crept across his lips; he knew why. He looked at earth, while Kerrigan was directly in charge of the Zerg in New York, Zagara had been summoned to handle Furry in the capital. This conquest was just as much seeing how those acquired through the lottery responded to his commands as grabbing the Infinity Stones.

The Orks have Wakanda bogged down, between the Orks struggle against Wakanda's defenses and Wakanda's scientists going insane from trying to figure out Ork Tech. It was a pretty even fight for now. Shuri, the Black Panther's younger sister was actually in New York as Wakanda's representative for some reason. So, the only thing of real value was the Vibranium. Even then, Khan didn't consider it a must have.

Tanya walked up next to him and said, "The Protoss are reporting success in collecting individuals that meet your specific requirements. I've observed their haul myself, so far they have yet to disappoint."

She looked upon the earth, then she asked, "The mission going forward, will they all be this clean?" Khan knew what she meant. Tanya was far from any sign of conflict like he promised original, he decided to be honest and said, "Probably not, while there will be plenty of campaigns where we'll steamroll them, I cannot predict the future. In all honesty, if I had not set them up from the beginning and instead went for the direct, brute force approach we would probably be having a much harder time right now."

Tanya continued to look out the window, probably imagining what that would look like.

...

The alarms were blaring, fires were breaking out everywhere. Carol couldn't believe what she was seeing. The invaders from New York were already hitting the capital. The Helicarrior was half submerged and half on fire.

She spotted Furry with a handful of Shield agents desperately trying to make a last stand. She blasts a hole in the swarming attackers. Instead of completely backing off, they just started circling instead.

Furry looked at her and said, "Thanks for the timely assistance, but I'm afraid you're not going to be enough."

Carol was confused, Furry continued, "Every attempt to evacuate has ended in the vehicle's destruction, and I don't think these things will wait while you carry us."

Carol looked around and then it dawns on her, there were already thousands, probably more. While she might be able to carry everyone, she wouldn't be able to fight back. On the flip side if she only took one, then whoever got left behind probably wouldn't survive long enough for her return. Not one to accept defeat, Carol said, "There is got to be something we can do, I'm not just going to leave you here to die!"

"Don't worry about that, none of you will be leaving." A female voice said, seemingly out of nowhere. A scantily clad woman with a face shroud in darkness appeared, teleporting in a instant. She began slaughtering Furry's men, but before she connects her blade with Furry. Carol pulled him out of the way. She flew away with Furry, she briefly turned to look back just to see a rather unique looking bug walking up next to their attacker.

...

Sarah Kerrigan was standing on the Statue of Liberty. 'So, this is earth. Or a version of it at least.' She thought. The city was still hanging on, mostly because she wasn't being serious. She had been told to cause havoc and make sure no one leaves the city.

An order she has been dutifully carrying out. Of course, that android, Vision, had almost wrecked everything but she managed to rip it apart. Its head now on its way to Khan. Kerrigan couldn't help but feel she made a mistake with that. When she entered the Primal Pool and became the Primal Queen of Blades, most of her changes had been based on her desire to kill Mengsk. However, a small piece of her was still holding on to that desire for the love of her life. It wasn't until after she killed Mengsk that she discovered that the exoskeleton armor she wears was capable of retracting to a single unnoticeable spot.

Before it was never a concern of hers, but even though she can't read Khan's mind, she can still feel his lustful gaze. Kerrigan noticed that even Zagara, who had no means of physical compatibility, was growing an obsessive devotion towards him. To the point where Kerrigan was sure Zagara would do something desperate to change herself to be with him.

Kerrigan was pulled from her thoughts when she felt someone trying to enter the psychic network of her swarm. The intruder had gleamed some information before Kerrigan forcefully shut them down. Kerrigan sensed that the brazen fool was in Central Park.

While that place only had makeshift armor on its walls and entrance, it also had some powerful defenders. To break the stalemate, she would personally take one if the buildings herself, but which one?

She looked through her swarm and compared who was at what building. One had energy barriers, one had large, odd color defenders, and the last one had a lab. Kerrigan smiled; she had her target. She also thought that if she offered the women in that building to Khan, then perhaps she wouldn't have to worry about his intent towards her for a while.
