The Warlord System

Chapter 63: Marvel Arc - 7

Peter Parker, aka Spider-man, was currently trying to build this makeshift communicator to try and find other survivors. He was in Central Park; he'd gone there to help protect the citizens who taken shelter there. He wasn't the only one, individuals from the X-Men were there. As well as people he knew, like White Tiger, Squirrel Girl, Tigra, Daredevil, Gwen Stacey, and Silk.

Then there was Claire Temple, aka the Night Nurse. She wasn't the first person to take the mantle, but honestly, everyone was glad when she accepted the role. Getting injuries properly treated when you don't have money or can't explain your injuries without exposing your identity would've been impossible without her.

There were others missing, like his friend Miles Morales or his fiance Mary Jane. There was also those like Black Cat whose relationship was complicated at best.

The device began to spark to life. Peter held his breath as the screen flickered. Then he heard a voice say, "Tony! I think were getting something!" The screen showed Bruce Banner, Peter reacted and yelled, "Hey! Miss Frost! It's workings!"

Another voice said, "Hey Reed were getting something." Another voice said, "Hello, is any there?" The picture came to life showing several different people. Peter recognized a few of them, there was Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Reed Richards, and Nick Fury. Then there was the one he didn't recognize, a woman, from her outfit Peter believed she was from Israel. Tony immediately said, "Alright let's not waste time, these power surges could knock out our makeshift network at any moment. So, Spider-man am I correct in assuming that you are operating out of Central Park with a makeshift device?"

Peter nodded, and quickly told them who was there with him. Tony then said, "Reed, do you have any info on are attackers?"

Mr. Fantastic answered, "Sadly no, I'm here with Dr. Helen Cho and Amara Perera, and despite are best efforts we are making no progress in analyzing the few samples we've attained. It evolves to quickly, and if our initial findings are correct, it can be highly contagious."

Fury responded, "If that's true then we are in serious trouble. The capital has fallen, I have scattered reports of attacks coming in from Europe and Wakanda. We can't expect reinforcements and I don't know of any place we might be able to retreat and reorganize."

Reed's screen suddenly began to shake. Reed immediately yelled, "Susan! Johnny! What's happening out there?! Reed's screen suddenly went black.

Fury suddenly tried a different com and said, "Black Widow, can you hear me? Respond!" A few seconds later, Black Widow responded, but Peter couldn't hear what was being said.

Furry said, "Stark! Is there any way you can get to the Baxter Building?" Tony said, "We have a team of Hulks downstairs but even they can't get any further than half a block before they get overwhelmed and have to fall back. And even my remote piloted suits are getting blasted out of the sky. Spider-man, Sabra, can anyone on your end make it to the Baxter Building?"

Peter answered, "Cloak and Dagger would've been able to, but Cloak got nailed with some poisonous barbs, he is incapacitated at the moment."

Sabra answered, "Sorry but no, let's be honest, if anyone could've escaped this city they would've some time ago." Suddenly, Fury's screen began to violently shake, and then Fury said, "Captain Marvel, I believe they found us! We'll have to relocate. When I can, I'll try contacting any surviving military forces!" The screen went black before he could say anything else.

As a loud roar could be heard in the distance, Peter couldn't help but feel that they ran out of time. Then his device failed, and shorted out.

...

Hela, goddess of death, was watching the events unfold on Midgard. A little bonus for agreeing to work with Dovak. Her armies plus those dark elves he loaned out to her, the Drukhari he called them were getting ready to begin their assault on Asgard.

Honestly, Hela wasn't sure what to expect when Dovak appeared before her months ago promising freedom for her. After all the only way to free her from her prison was to kill her father.

However, that looks like a real possibility now. To correct certain wrongs her father's mistakes had caused. To take her rightful place. It was all about to be hers.

Of course, she couldn't let her guard down. There's no telling what Dovak will do once he achieved his goal. But she planned on coming out on top. Still, the assault on Asgard has been timed perfectly with Odin's sleep. For a whole week Odin will be trying to recover his energy, and Hela had no intention of letting that happen. But the biggest decision she had to make was how to proceed. If she committed to much than she could be left vulnerable to his possible treachery later, but if she doesn't commit enough than he could use that as an excuse to alter their arrangement.

It was an annoying balancing act. Still, if her forces were the one to take out Odin then she be an a more favorable position to make demands and once Odin was no more she could take the field herself. She could hardly wait.

...

Charles Xavier was watching in horror as his academy was under siege. And to his shame he couldn't do anything to help. Some were killed but most were dragged away.

Then he appeared, the man leading the attack. The Professor said, "Who are you and where are you taking them?!" The man smiled and said, "You really should be grateful, I came here with the intent of killing everyone, but I decided that it would be to much of a waste so instead they'll be given new purpose, new memories, and new bodies. But unfortunately for you, I have more than enough telepaths and frankly your abilities are wasted with you."

In one motion, the man shoved his arm though Xavier's chest. He couldn't breathe, then the man said. "Shhh, just go ahead and shuffle on." Then everything faded.

...

Khan stood over Xavier's corpse, consuming his soul and absorbing the man's power of telepathy. Before, if he wanted to read a mind then it had to be through the Eyes of Hermaeus Mora, but now he can do it in person at any time.

Then he received a message from Lilith. She had the final page. Which meant it was time to collect Bruce. Honestly, it shouldn't be that difficult. Kerrigan just took the Baxter Building, Wink just killed Fury, and Zagara, with the help of Hazmat, managed to capture Carol Danvers.

As Khan looked back at Xavier's lifeless body, he thought, 'You know what, the old man shouldn't be alone in the end.' Khan then pulled out the Caretaker's body. Before hitting Xavier's school, Khan swung by the Abby. Sarah was too distracted to notice Khan's approach.

As Khan entered the Shadow Nexus, the school was left in a quiet state. With the exception of the fresh bodies, if one were to walk those halls then they would think it was simply abandoned and fell into disrepair. As such was the nature of the damage.

Khan was soon standing in front of Stark Tower. Up top, the Leviathan started dropping pods getting everyone's attention. Lilith appeared next to him after exiting a portal. Khan simply said, "Shall we?" And opened the door. Two women were in the lobby, one red the other green.

Khan knew they were the Red She-Hulk and She-Hulk. Apparently they were guarding the ground floor. Khan turned towards Lilith and said, "I'll take care of this, you go ahead and get what you came for." Lilith said nothing and simply continued with her goal.

Red She-Hulk smirked and said, "Do you really think you can handle us, big boy." Not waiting for a response, they both charged at Khan.

With a wave of his hands, both of them were suspended in mid-air. While struggling Betty said, "You cheating sonofabitch!" Khan smirked and pointed his hands down. They both disappeared into his shadow.

Khan was amused how easy it was going. When suddenly several shots rang out. The went wide and missed.

He heard Blade say, "I told you it wouldn't work." Khan turned around and say several people standing at the door. The one that shot at him was the Silver Sable. Standing next to her was Blade and Doctor Strange. However, next to them was two people Khan was not expecting, Mystique and Sabertooth. Khan decided to test his newly acquired telepathy, and peek through the eyes of the swarm. It lasted a only a moment, but he did see Robbie drive his car through the swarm. Apparently, he is running the wall of flesh the Zerg made and carrying civilians to safety.

Smart but inefficient, it's not like he can carry everyone at once in his car. Honestly, it wouldn't be that hard to immobilize the car. Bringing his thoughts back to the moment at hand, Khan said, "So what bring you all here, instead of helping Robbie get the civilians to safety or perhaps (looks at Mystique and Sabertooth) escape on your own."

Sabertooth, with a growl said, "You cost me my hunt." Strange then said, "Mr. Creed's own motive aside. We know you are the master mind of this mess, and I feel once you're dealt with, these invaders will be easier to handle. The fact that you knew what Robbie was doing is all the proof I need."

Khan gave a small chuckle, and said, "While you're right in the fact that I'm the ultimate master mind, you're wrong in assuming dealing with me will affect the Zerg." They looked at each other, confirmation that Khan was in charge. Blade said, "I guess we'll see won't we."

Khan answered, "No, you won't." Khan drew his sword. The fight had begun.

...

Tony blasted one of the invaders off the helipad. With Cap, Red Hulk, and A-Bomb handling the roof, and She-Hulk and Red She-Hulk guarding the lobby, Tony felt his building could hold out. At that moment, as if to prove how foolish he was, an explosion happened in the lobby.

Tony yelled into his com, "What happened! Betty! Jennifer! Do either of you read?!" After nothing but silence, he immediately switched channels and asked, "Pepper! Do you have eyes on what's going on?" His assistant, Pepper Potts immediately responded, "No, it chaos in here! The civilians that took refuge are convinced that if they don't leave then they never will. I can't-" The signal cut out, and Tony immediately said, "Pepper? Pepper!" Tony then turned to Steve and said, "Hey Cap! I've lost contact with the inside!"

Steve responded, "I say check it out, but our hands are pretty full! So, if you go make it quick!" Tony said, "I'll start at the bottom and work my way up." He immediately flew towards the lobby. Only to stop at the edge when he saw the invaders scaling the walls like insects. He turned back to Steve and said, "The building compromised! We need to evacuate everyone!"

Just then, a man walked out. Before Tony could say anything. The man pointed his fingers and then Red Hulk and A-Bomb went flying towards the Hudson. Tony immediately focused all his suit's power and fired a beam from the arc reactor.

Suddenly that man was behind him. The man said, "Such technology really should be in my hands. You'll agree soon, Toni." Tony's suit immediately fell apart, and he lost consciousness. Then dreams of a different life began.
