Trapped in Paradise

Chapter 31

Chapter 31: Another Date?!

Ning Chu’s dorm wasn’t dirty, just a total mess.

Wang Jie’s desk was full of various wires, the trash can overflowing with takeout boxes piled up from the weekend, Zhang Shaoqing’s underwear was hanging directly from the bed frame, while Wen Yang’s desk was clean, but that was only because he had fewer things.

Ning Chu had a case of intermittent obsessive-compulsive disorder; sometimes her desk looked like a mountain of clutter, but after a while, it would start to bother her more and more until she would spend an entire afternoon tidying it up until everything was in order.

Outside, the rain was pouring down heavier, the strong winds whipping the rain around, turning the corridor and balcony into high-risk zones.

The clothes hanging on the balcony were completely soaked, which dashed Ning Chu’s hopes of rescuing them. She returned to the dorm and slumped onto a chair like a salted fish.

“Time to clean up.”

“I want to take a shower; I feel sticky,” Ning Chu mumbled as she took off her training jacket, pulling at the collar of her short-sleeved shirt with a disgusted look, “I’m drenched!”

Wen Yang had just sat down when he heard Ning Chu’s complaint and instinctively looked up.

Due to the combined effect of sweat and rain, her short-sleeved white shirt clung to her skin, making her slender frame appear exceptionally delicate.

From the side, her not-so-prominent chest muscles had started to take shape. Water dripped down from her hair, following the soft contours of her face, pooling at her chin, and then dripping onto her exquisite collarbone.

Ning Chu used a towel to wipe her face, noticing Wen Yang’s gaze, and her thick, water-laden eyelashes fluttered as she blinked in confusion.

Wen Yang felt a bit guilty out of nowhere and quickly looked away: “Let’s wash later, okay? First, let’s clean up.”

“Get up and start cleaning!”

“Exactly! Move it!”

Hearing the continuous shouts, Ning Chu turned to glance at the others but found her roommates glued to their chairs, all of them shouting about cleaning while their bodies remained still.

So, Ning Chu took it upon herself, standing up to grab a change of clothes, justifying, “While I shower, I’ll clean the bathroom, and you guys can take care of the rest!”

Before the others could voice any objections, she dashed into the bathroom.

Every time she took a shower, it was a source of sorrow.

Stripping off her top and pants, she expressionlessly touched the subtle softness on her chest, feeling the tingling sensation from her small red bean, then looked down at her always listless backside…

She sighed, glancing at the half-length mirror on the wall, gazing at her pale, mouth-watering self in the reflection.

That youthful face remained pure and cute, showing no signs of becoming handsome, looking like a delicate flower.

Thank goodness there were no situations in the story about getting too close to guys!

Otherwise, before she even turned into a girl, her plot might have already started!

Since she was just sweaty and rained on, calling it a shower would be an exaggeration; it took her just a few minutes to change into dry shorts and a short-sleeved shirt, casually mopping the bathroom tiles afterward.

Walking back into the dorm, the other three had already started cleaning.

“I cleaned the bathroom.”

“I’m done on my end too.” Wen Yang just put down his broom at that moment, “Sweeping should be enough, right? Do we really need to mop?”

Zhang Shaoqing took out the trash as he spoke, “It’s not like it has tile flooring, what’s the point of mopping?”

Ah, turns out I wasn’t the only one being half-hearted about this.

Looking over at Wang Jie, he was still busy organizing his chaotic desk and hadn’t participated in the dorm cleaning at all.

Ning Chu casually tidied her already neat desk and plopped down in front of the computer, intending to order takeout for lunch when she felt a bit uncomfortable and tugged at her shorts.

A little tight…

Especially during big movements like bending down or sitting with her legs up, her shorts would cling tightly to her backside, as if any larger action could tear the pants apart.

The first time she disrupted the plot, she had gained an extra layer of softness on her chest, and the second time, her hip size increased, which made her previously well-fitting pants feel a bit constricted.

Because of that, she rushed to buy a new set of pajamas over the weekend, which should arrive today.

So what about next time?

Ning Chu looked worried, feeling confused. Following the plot, she was destined to eventually become a girl, and disrupting the plot might mean she would become a girl sooner…

If she ran away, what dangers would she face without Wen Yang’s protagonist halo?

Knock knock knock!

Suddenly, someone pounded on the door. A cacophony of noise from the hallway broke Ning Chu’s train of thought.

As the door swung open, the instructor, Han Jingye, and an unfamiliar middle-aged leader stepped into the room, a group of students peering in curiously from outside.

Ning Chu hurriedly stood up, her heart racing as she quickly scanned every corner of the dorm.

The blankets were neatly folded, trash had been thrown out, and the dorm was just cleaned, nothing messy…

Should be fine, right?

But why was the counselor here again?!

She could clearly feel Han Jingye’s gaze lingering on her more frequently, which made her increasingly anxious, fearing that instead of targeting girls, he might come after her.

Han Jingye also eyed her with confusion.

Why did this student seem to dislike me so much? Is she a bit scared too?

“It’s fine, but don’t forget to clean the balcony too.” The instructor always wore a stern expression, looking difficult to deal with, “Today’s military training is canceled; if it continues to rain tomorrow, we’ll gather in the hall on the first floor of the teaching building.”

“Got it,” Wen Yang answered, following the instructor and counselor out of the dorm.

Once the door was closed, the others couldn’t contain their excitement.

“No military training this afternoon! Wen Yang! Let’s duo queue!”

“Sure!”

“Count me in!”

The three of them sat in front of the computer and fired up the game, and Ning Chu glanced left and right, unable to resist saying, “I want to play too.”

“If you want to play, come on! Hurry up!”

Compared to Zhang Shaoqing’s impatience, Wen Yang’s tone was more relaxed as he nodded, “Last time I couldn’t carry you alone, but this time the whole dorm can help you out, right?”

“Of course! I’ve watched a lot of tutorials recently!”

Ning Chu confidently puffed out her chest, a grin spreading across her face, “Since we don’t have military training this afternoon, can you teach me a bit more today? So I won’t be looked down upon when I want to play in the future.”

“Huh?” Wen Yang froze, “This…”

What the heck! Right after the instructor announced the afternoon military training was canceled, did you already have plans to go on a date with some girl?!

“You’re going on a date again?” Zhang Shaoqing turned around to ask Ning Chu mockingly, “Wow, you’re always getting girls to ask you out whenever you have free time. Spread some of that luck our way!”

Well done!

Ning Chu silently gave Zhang Shaoqing a thumbs up in her heart; it was the first time she found his snarky mouth to be somewhat useful.
