Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Kushina Unleashes Four Tails!
At the Bridge of Heaven and Earth, Kushina Uzumaki let out a heart-wrenching scream:
"Give me back my family!"
The red chakra surrounding her body flared violently, taking the form of a fox-like figure. The ominous aura of the Nine-Tails radiated through the forest, a manifestation of raw, unbridled power that weighed heavily in the air.
Centered on Kushina, the oppressive energy surged outward in all directions. Her chakra cloak now sported a single tail, swaying menacingly as her rage built.
"So this is the terrifying power of a Tailed Beast cloak?"
Yo Uchiha was astonished, his entire body instinctively reacting to the immense chakra. His skin tingled, his hair stood on end, and he felt his pulse race—this was a primal fear born of pure survival instinct.
"What is that?"
"Why has Kushina turned into a monster?"
The oppressive chakra caused a wave of shock among the Konoha ninjas, with some even voicing their confusion aloud. Their words, unfortunately, reached Kushina's ears.
"Ha! It's a Jinchūriki!"
The mercenaries from the Land of Lightning were initially stunned by the horrifying chakra. But once the shock subsided, their expressions turned to unrestrained glee.
"Abandon all other tasks! Target the Jinchūriki!"
"Capture her at all costs! Bring her back alive!"
The enemy leader's orders reverberated through the battlefield. With newfound determination, the mercenaries turned their full attention to Kushina.
"Kill!"
Yo wasted no time, his instincts screaming that the situation was far from ordinary. The sounds of distant movement suggested reinforcements might be on their way.
While many Konoha ninjas—including Minato—were frozen in shock at Kushina's transformation, Yo acted immediately. Forming seals, he unleashed a massive fireball at the enemies charging toward her.
Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!
A scorching orb of flame roared toward the advancing enemies, giving Yo a momentary upper hand.
"This is no time to hesitate," he thought. "The Nine-Tails can't fall into their hands, no matter what!"
As he glanced at Kushina, her appearance now resembled a fierce beast. Despite the chaos, Yo's resolve deepened.
"This is my chance. Prove myself to Konoha. Prove myself to Kushina. Show them all the true meaning of my ninja way!"
Red chakra erupted around Kushina as she charged forward, her movements a blur.
"Give me back my family!"
Her voice carried a devastating mix of pain and fury as she swung her fist into an enemy ninja, shattering his spine. Her next strike obliterated a fireball jutsu aimed at her.
"Kushina is in danger!"
Minato, snapping out of his stupor, called out as he hurled precision-thrown kunai to intercept approaching enemies.
The Konoha jonin echoed his sentiments:
"Protect the Jinchūriki at all costs! Don't let the enemy take her!"
"Haha! Konoha dares to be so bold, yet today their Jinchūriki will belong to us!"
The enemy commander, a Lightning Country jonin, laughed maniacally. He knew the strategic value of capturing the Nine-Tails.
The thought of delivering Kushina to their superiors filled him with glee.
"If we succeed, Konoha will bleed to get her back!"
"Stop at nothing! Secure the Jinchūriki!"
Though heavily outnumbered, the mercenaries fought with suicidal ferocity, determined to buy time and achieve their objective.
Suddenly, the earth trembled with a deafening roar.
"Lightning Country scum, none of you are leaving here alive!"
A furious voice rang out as the ground cracked beneath the force of an impact. Dust and debris flew into the air as a golden-haired figure descended onto the battlefield.
"Tsunade!"
"It's Konoha's Tsunade! But wasn't she at the command post?"
The mercenaries' confidence wavered as Tsunade appeared, flanked by a squad of masked ANBU.
From the opposite end of the bridge, a chorus of panicked screams erupted.
"Snakes! They're everywhere!"
Dense clusters of venomous snakes slithered from the forest, striking fear into the enemy ranks.
Then came a chilling, raspy voice:
"It seems I arrived just in time."
From the shadows emerged Orochimaru, accompanied by a force of thirty Konoha ninjas. The serpentine menace grinned wickedly, his presence amplifying the dread in the enemy's hearts.
"Yes! Reinforcements are here!"
Konoha's forces erupted into cheers, while the mercenaries descended into chaos. Their leaders, pale and grim, quickly assessed the situation.
"We've been duped! It's a trap!"
"Retreat immediately! We have to break through!"
The enemy's morale crumbled as the truth became clear. From the start, this mission had been a carefully laid snare.
Using misinformation planted by Konoha's spies, the Lightning Country mercenaries had been lured into an ambush. Jiraiya's convoy was the bait, while Tsunade and Orochimaru's forces executed a deadly pincer attack.
This operation had been planned to annihilate the infamous Lightning Country mercenary force—a move Konoha had long awaited.
ROAR!
Before the Konoha forces could capitalize on their advantage, a monstrous roar shook the battlefield.
Kushina's body pulsed with violent energy as her third chakra tail lashed the air. Before anyone could react, a fourth tail began to form, the crimson aura intensifying to an almost blinding degree.
"Kushina's losing control!"
Yo's Sharingan swirled, capturing every agonizing detail. The sight of Kushina's transformation was both awe-inspiring and terrifying.
"Four tails…" he whispered in disbelief.
Kushina's chakra now felt like a living calamity.
"Monster! She's a monster!"
Even seasoned ninjas faltered, their instincts driving them to retreat from the overwhelming menace. The sheer malevolence of the Nine-Tails' chakra was unbearable.
"Ha! The Jinchūriki is out of control—this is perfect!"
The enemy commander's despair turned to exhilaration. The chaos might work to their advantage after all.
On the Konoha side, Tsunade's face darkened. She had anticipated Kushina's rage, but not this.
"Tsunade!"
Orochimaru's cold, decisive voice cut through the commotion. Their decades of teamwork needed no elaboration.
"All units, fall back to a safe zone!" Tsunade ordered immediately.
But before the evacuation could commence, Kushina let out a feral howl and disappeared in a blur of red.
"She's charging at the mercenaries!"
Consumed by her seething hatred
, Kushina—now nearly unrecognizable—hurtled toward the retreating enemies with devastating speed.
Her target was clear: annihilation.
