Uchiha's flies : Descendants are Born

Chapter 54: Chapter 54: I, Haruto, Take Over as Nabekage

In Konoha Village, amidst the grand Uchiha clan estate, Haruto was celebrating his wedding, basking in the joy with his first and second wives. The atmosphere was festive and lively.

---

At the entrance of the estate, young Sasuke Uchiha was happily setting off fireworks, his laughter echoing in the crisp evening air.

Soon, Sarutobi Hiruzen, the Third Hokage, arrived. Behind him trailed a squad of masked Anbu ninjas, their presence a sharp contrast to the joyous festivities.

"Huh? Lord Hokage, you're here!" Sasuke noticed him and quickly set down the firework stick, running over to greet him.

Sarutobi Hiruzen smiled warmly, gently patting Sasuke's head. "Sasuke, where's your brother, Haruto?"

"He's busy having a baby!" Sasuke replied innocently.

The Hokage blinked in confusion. "I heard he's getting married?"

"Yes! But marriage and having a baby don't interfere with each other," Sasuke explained enthusiastically.

Sarutobi Hiruzen paused, clearly caught off guard. He sighed internally, Young people these days...

After a moment of reflection, he composed himself. "Sasuke, since Haruto is busy, it wouldn't be polite for me to intrude. Could you go and fetch him? I have an urgent matter to discuss with him."

"Sure, Hokage-sama!" Sasuke darted off, his small figure disappearing into the estate.

---

Not long after, Sasuke returned, leading a disheveled Haruto. His hair was unkempt, and his formal attire was slightly wrinkled.

"Hokage-sama, I wasn't expecting your visit," Haruto said, adjusting his clothes as he approached. "Please forgive me for not being properly prepared."

The Hokage chuckled lightly. "No need for formalities, Haruto. I can see that you're quite... diligent, even on your wedding day."

Haruto grinned. "Time is precious. Rebuilding the Uchiha clan's population is my top priority, even if it exhausts me."

Hiruzen smirked. "Your dedication is commendable."

After exchanging pleasantries, Sarutobi Hiruzen's expression turned serious. "Haruto, I came here because something significant has happened. Last night... Danzo took his own life, fearing the consequences of his actions."

Haruto nodded, his expression neutral. "I heard about it this morning. My wives were discussing it."

"I've uncovered the truth behind his crimes," the Hokage continued solemnly.

He proceeded to list Danzo's transgressions in detail—the exploitation of Hashirama's cells, the orchestration of Uchiha Shisui's demise, and his role in sowing discord that led to the Uchiha massacre. Haruto listened attentively, his face betraying no emotion.

Finally, Sarutobi Hiruzen sighed deeply. "Haruto, the Uchiha clan has suffered immensely because of Danzo. As Hokage, I feel it's my responsibility to compensate your clan."

Haruto raised an eyebrow, his interest piqued. "Compensation, Hokage-sama?"

"Yes," Hiruzen replied, his gaze sweeping over the thriving Uchiha estate. "Money seems unnecessary for your clan now. Instead, I intend to offer you something more substantial—power."

---

Haruto remained silent, his mind racing. Power? What is he planning?

The Hokage gestured to the masked Anbu behind him. "Demonstrate your allegiance."

The Anbu ninjas immediately knelt on one knee, bowing their heads. "Lord Haruto," they chorused respectfully.

Haruto's eyes widened slightly. What's going on? Are they asking me to lead the Anbu?

Sensing his confusion, Hiruzen clarified, "These aren't Anbu. They're former members of Danzo's Root Organization. With Danzo gone, the Root is now leaderless. I want you to assume command."

The offer took Haruto by surprise. He quickly masked his emotions, waiting for the Hokage to continue.

"In addition to this," Hiruzen said, taking a puff from his pipe, "I'd like you to join the village's leadership council as a senior advisor. You'll take over all the responsibilities Danzo once held."

Haruto's skepticism deepened. This isn't compensation—it's a trap. He wants me to become the scapegoat, a second-generation 'Pot Kage' to take the blame for future failures.

Hiruzen continued, his tone magnanimous. "This is a position of great honor and trust. Few have achieved this level of authority at your age. Even Uchiha Fugaku never had such an opportunity."

The Hokage's words might have impressed an ordinary ninja, but Haruto saw through the facade. You're trying to disguise this burden as a privilege. Clever, but not clever enough.

Still, Haruto forced a smile. "Hokage-sama, I'm honored by your trust. If you believe I'm capable, I'll do my best to meet your expectations."

"Excellent!" Sarutobi Hiruzen exclaimed, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. He patted Haruto on the shoulder. "I knew you were the right choice."

---

After exchanging a few more pleasantries, the Hokage departed with a satisfied expression, leaving Haruto with the Root ninjas.

As the Hokage's figure disappeared into the distance, Haruto turned to face the kneeling ninjas. "Rise."

"Yes, Lord Haruto," they responded in unison, standing at attention.

"You're dismissed," Haruto said. "When there's no mission, you're free to move about. Go now."

The ninjas hesitated, exchanging glances. One of them, evidently their leader, stepped forward and removed his mask. "Lord Haruto, we need you to reseal us."

"Reseal?" Haruto frowned.

"Yes," the ninja explained, extending his tongue to reveal the remnants of the cursed seal Danzo had placed on them. "With Danzo dead, the seal has faded. Please cast it again."

Haruto recoiled slightly. "Put your tongue away! I'll deal with the seal later."

The ninja quickly complied, bowing his head in apology. "Understood, Lord Haruto."

Haruto sighed, waving them off. As they dispersed, he turned back toward the estate, his mind already strategizing. Hiruzen, you've underestimated me. If you think I'll simply play along, you're mistaken.

---

Later that evening, Haruto returned to his wives, his mood lighter despite the burden placed on him. As he embraced them, he silently vowed to use the power he had gained not as a tool of manipulation, but as a weapon to dismantle the oppressive system that had wronged his clan.

Konoha's leadership may see me as a pawn, but I'll show them the strength of a king.
