Umbra Frontier Online – A Casual Playthrough of the Umbra Witch

Zanny had gone devil mode and my Knight's Valour skill had activated. Now I have another thirty seconds of invincibility to take whatever attacks Zanny's about to unleash.

But on the other hand, it also means that I have only thirty seconds to possibly end this fight or else I'll lose.

However, that's when another problem had arisen after I was sent flying in the air and landed on the ground. Because when I looked up, Zanny was already in my face and attacked before I could react.

"Power Blow!"

I was sent flying again. I tried to regain my balance to quickly launch a counterattack but when I did, Zanny was already right next to me as he attacked again.

"Blazing Assault! Power Blow!"

I was cut by a fiery slash before being sent flying in a different direction. Then Zanny chased after me and attacked once again.

"Thunder Cross Split Attack! Power Blow!"

This time his blades sent a shocking blow to my body as he then knocked me into the air. Following up with another attack again.

"Javelin Thrust!"

And again...

"Raging Blow!"

And again...

"Dual Slash!"

And again...

"Lion's Roar!"

And again...

"Dragon Fang Blade!"

And again...

"Agony Cleaver!"

And again...

And again...

And again...

And again...

And again...

And again...

Zanny was not giving me any chance to react. And even if I had one, he's become too fast for me to follow.

"M-Moon Walk..."

Even when I tried to teleport out of there, he would pursue me and continue his assault like usual.

Only ten seconds have passed. Yet, there was nothing I could do.

Zanny must have figured out that I have another invincibility skill activated when he used Power Blow on me at the beginning of his assault. Now his plan is to probably keep me from doing anything drastic until my Knight's Valour skill time has run out. And at this rate, he will win if I don't come up with something right now.

This is bad... Think... Think, me! I need to formulate a plan right this instant!

I gave up on resisting for the time being as Zanny carried on with his assault combo.

I am currently focusing all of my efforts into thinking right now. Wracking my brain as hard as I could to think of a good way to come out on top in this predicament within the next few seconds.

If I am to flip the table on him, I'll need to be as fast as he is or even faster.

Haste is the only skill I have that increases my speed, however. In that case, I'll just have to do that.

It should be fine. I've only promised Hikari and Himeji that I won't do it when I face them. But they have already been defeated now, so...

With ten seconds remaining until Knight's Valour effect is gone, I waited until I was given another opportunity to use a skill.

Eventually with seven seconds left, that opportunity came. The moment Zanny knocked me into the ground, the distance gave me a chance to use a skill right as Zanny's swords were millimeters away from my eyes.

"Multi-Haste."

Using the Multi-Casting exploit, I have no clue how much my speed has increased. But I do know that it's enough for me to evade Zanny's swords as I ducked down at the last second and hit him with my staff.

"Well ****."

"Explosion!"

I sent Zanny flying. However, he wasn't dead nor had his HP dropped at all.

I see. So it's the same type of skill as my Knight's Valour.

I Am Demonic, he calls it. I do not know what exactly the skill does, but what I do know is that it grants him invincibility too. In that case, what I need to do now is simple as it was the same plan that Zanny used earlier on me.

Hit him until his skill's effect runs out!

Rushing up to Zanny after casting Explosion on his chest, I swiftly smacked him across the face with my staff.

"Power Blow!"

This time it was my turn to send him flying. Chaining a combo of Explosions and Power Blows endlessly while Knight's Valour is still in effect.

The both of us travelled across the map in these few seconds. Zanny tried to escape the same way as I did but failed since I was able to catch up to him. Even if he attempts to counter, I make a last second evasion and wack his head over and over again.

I'm not giving him any chances. Zanny activated his I Am Demonic skill at almost the same time as my Knight's Valour.

I don't know how long his skill's effect will last. But if it's the same as my Knight's Valour, then our invincibility will end at the same time.

And so I kept hitting him under that assumption. If I'm wrong, then I'll lose. But if I'm correct, then I might win. The only way the tide of this fight would be flipped on me is if Zanny has another trump card up his sleeve.

During this brief amount of seconds that seemed like an eternity, Jael and the other players watching their fight were completely lost as to what was going on.

In their eyes, Yoru and Zanny were bouncing all over the map at a speed so high that the audience were unable to follow them. Only managing to catch a few frames of their blurry figures for a few milliseconds before they disappeared again.

"What in the Makers is going on...?" Jael asked, but there was no one who could answer him.

All he could tell that Yoru may be having the upper hand from the explosions she's unleashing. But besides that, he was just as astounded as the other players watching.

"This is insane. How could there be players who can move this fast!?" Jael screams internally, surprised to see that the game was this broken.

And for that reason, the individual behind the angel sheds a tear. Not because of how broken the game was, but because of how he and his co-workers are going to have to spend the following days trying to fix it.

"I'm not going home anytime soon, am I...?" He thought.

While that internal turmoil was happening, the fight between Yoru and Zanny had finally slowed as both of their invincibility were gone.

Zanny reverted back to his blondie form. Which meant that Knight's Valour effect had run out too.

"Ex—!"

I quickly tried to deliver the last blow on Zanny. But in that instant, he used Moon Walk to teleport away.

I pursued him, but he went for the counter as I was almost cut by his blade and had to retreat back.

My invincibility is gone. If I were to get hit just now, then it would be over for me before I could defeat him first.

However, even when I retreated, Zanny didn't pursue. Instead, he was taking a breather, as was I...

"Hahahahaha~" Zanny started laughing. "You surprised me, Yoru. I didn't expect you to have two skills that grants invincibility. How unfair."

"Says the one who turned into a full blown devil on me." I retorted. "You don't have anything else like that, do you?" I then asked.

"Don't worry. That was my only trump card which I did not plan on revealing at all, since I've only acquired that skill recently and haven't quite gotten used to it yet. So congratulations. You've forced my hands."

"Same goes for you. I did not plan on using mine as well."

"Hahahahahaha~ Then I guess we've shown each other everything we have, huh?"

"Yes. In which case, there's only one thing left for us to do."

"Indeed... Only one way now to end this fight."

That only way would be a stand off like in the cowboy movies.

So we buffed ourselves before the finale as Zanny called it.

"Multi-Haste. Multi-Magic Amplification. Multi-Magic Booster. Delay-Explosion, two seconds."

"Acceleration. Weapons Booster. Titan Strength. Iron Will. Aura Blade."

And now... it's time to end this.

"Multi-Firebomb!" I casted, right as we charged towards each other.

Zanny sent his flying slash attacks from his Aura Blade at me, while I hurled Firebombs towards his way. The both of us dodged each one of our attacks as we rushed forward.

"Yoooooruuuuuuuuu!!!"

"Zaaannnnnnyyyyyy!!!"

It didn't take long for us to close the gap between us. Unleashing one last skill to finish the other off.

"Thunder Cross Split Attack!"

Zanny lunged forward with his blades coated in lightning. But as for me, I made it seem like I was about to smack him with my staff again. Forcing him to pay attention to it until the very last moment where I used a skill that he would not expect.

"Moon Walk."

I teleported instead of attacking; I ran instead of trading blows with each other. For it was all in accordance to my plan.

Zanny quickly turned around with bloodlust in his eyes, knowing that I had moved there. However, that action of his was what sealed his fate in this fight as I looked him in the eye, raised my hand pointing and said to him.

"Behind you."

The moment Zanny heeded my words and turned again, it was already too late. The Explosion spell which I had Delay-Casted at the start of the finale was already right in his face.

There was no way for him to dodge or use a skill at that moment. His end was certain.

Knowing this, Zanny laughed and spoke his last words right before his defeat.

"GG."

Boom! The final explosion has announced the end of the fight... And the end of the match.

The kill feed confirms it.

"It's... over...." Jael, who had been silent at this time, finally spoke as he announced the end of the match.

But why is he crying though?

"T-T-The fourth match of today's event has been concluded. The Hero— No... The Dark Hero, Zanny, has been defeated by Yoru the Villain— No... Yoru the Witch!"

Fireworks suddenly appeared all over the map, bursting forth a colourful victory in my name.

I dropped sitting on the ground. Finally able to relax after what felt like hours to no end. But when I checked, it only has been a bit more than an hour since the beginning of the night match.

Also, what did Jael call me just now?

Then, Jael gravitated down to me and started talking to me.

"Now uh... Yoru. Would you like to say something to the audience as the winner of tonight's match?" He asked.

Something, huh...?

There was only one thing that came to mind in that instance as I stared at where I believed the camera was.

"I am not a milf. I have a girlfriend. Understood?"

I made my statement loud and clear. Believing that whatever misunderstandings about me would be cleared up from that.

But little did I know, it would have some unintended effects instead.

After the event's night match was done, I logged out of the game after seeing that Hikari and Himeji have already done so when I checked my friend list menu.

When I opened my eyes, however, I found Sanae lying next to me on the bed again, pretending to be asleep.

"Am I that good of a body pillow?" I asked.

Sanae opened her eyes and answered smiling. "Of course. You are incredibly nice to hug, comfortable to touch and have the perfect warmth."

"Is that so...?" I then took my Dive Gear off my head.

"By the way, mister. Noticing anything about me, hmm~?" Sanae asked.

"Are you talking the lingerie you bought from our date earlier which you're wearing right now? If so, yes."

Sanae giggled in response. "So what do you think, handsome? Any thoughts?"

"What do I think...?" I moved myself on top of Sanae, pinning her on my bed. "I think you're trying to seduce me, aren't you?"

"Fufufu~ I don't know." Sanae joked with her response as she wrapped her arms around my neck. "Why don't you confirm it yourself?" she said, provoking me.

"Then I shall..." I replied and moved in for her lips.

That's when unfortunately, Hikari slammed open the door and interrupted us.

"Bro, you've logged out, haven't you? We need to talk right no—"

Hikari paused. She stared at us, stunned for a moment, while Sanae and I stared back at her too.

Then without a word, she whipped out her phone and snapped a photo.

"We can talk tomorrow. Don't mind me and continue. I'll leave you two lovebirds be."

"Hold up. Delete that photo right this instance, young lady."

"No. Ehehehehehe~" Hikari then made a run for it.

"Hikari! Get back here!" I proceeded to chase after her.

But right as I was about to do so, Sanae called out to me.

"Yoruto."

I stopped and turned to her, where she asked me.

"How was your game?"

"It was really fun." I replied.

Then I went back to chasing after Hikari around the house.
