Wandering in Omniverse

Ch 63 – Real Intentions

"Hyung-nim, can you feel that?"

Jason could feel that even before Jin-Woo could, the smell of death. He was very familiar with it. The Death law inside his body was reacting to it.

"How long has it been since they went inside?" Jin-Woo turned toward the female employee and urgently asked.

The female Association employee answered in bewilderment.

"It's been about two hours."

It was then.

"Who the hell are you? You from the Association??"

The Guild staff member grabbed Jin-Woo by his shoulder and tried to turn him around. It seemed that this guy wasn't happy with this newcomer's attitude.

"You should answer back when people are ta…."

The Guild staff member's words came to an abrupt halt as soon as he locked gazes with Jin-Woo's eyes.

'Hold up. Haven't I seen this guy's face before, like, a lot?'

But, from where?

The staff member combed through his memories before finally recalling a certain name. He gasped out in disbelief and stuttered out a question.

"H-Hunter S-Sung Jin-Woo?! H-Hunter Hyun Jason!!"

The Guild staff member was frightened out of his skull and reflexively took his hand away before taking two, three quick steps back.

"I-I'm truly sorry."

Jason turned to Jin-Woo and said. "Forget about them for now and save those idiots inside there!"

"Aren't you coming with me?"

"I will!... After you'll get your answers first." He said with a meaningful smile.

Jin-Woo nodded and walked towards the gate.

"Hey! Just what's going on here that makes you say that? If you could just explain what…."

Jason cut her off.

"You don't need to know."

He saw the hunters from the Dragon's Guild who bought the raid permit for that gate come out from inside after a minute or two.

The association employees quickly asked them what transpired inside the gate. And the answer nearly scared the shit out of them.

It's a Dual Dungeon!!

The Association employee quickly picked up his phone and called the monitoring division to inform them about it.

After a few minutes, the hunters of the Monitoring Division arrived on site. There were a total of seven high-ranked Hunters.

Woo Jin-Chul was leading them but then he stopped in his tracks as he spotted a familiar figure.

"Jason Hunter-nim, what are you doing here?"

"What do you think?" Jason smiled and stared at him with his eyes bursting with a dangerous glint.

"... Well, then why don't you enter inside? If the report is correct, then Sung Jin-Woo Hunter-nim might be in danger." Woo Jin-Chul gulped down in fear as he had never seen Jason like that.

"I'm planning to go inside in a few minutes," Jason replied plainly.

"Then I'll accompany you," Jin-Chul said quickly. He wanted to see things with his own eyes.

Jason shook his head and asked. "Chief Woo, can't you feel it?"

"Huh?"

Woo Jin-Chul was puzzled by his words. He didn't understand what he was trying to say.

Seeing through his thoughts, Jason pointed towards the gate.

"I mean... the ominous feeling! Can't you feel that?"

Woo Jin-Chul turned towards the gate and his face paled instantly.

"Chief?"

"Senior?"

The subordinates behind him saw his expression and asked worriedly.

Woo Jin-Chul ignored his subordinates as he cautiously took off his sunglasses. His hand holding the accessory was trembling imperceptibly.

'This… what the hell is this….?'

He picked up on the utterly horrifying maelstrom of magical energy all around the Gate. As a matter of fact, the magical energy leaking out was so savage and brutal that the space around the portal looked as if it was being distorted to his naked eyes.

Even if he had become an S-rank, he could clearly feel the shadow of death staring at him.

All the hair on the back of his neck stood up.

Woo Jin-Chul instinctively knew it.

He knew that the fight taking place inside was not something he or his boys could possibly butt in on.

The subordinates saw his complexion getting paler and gasped out in surprise. They hurriedly asked him.

"Section Chief?? Are you alright?"

"…."

Woo Jin-Chul turned to Jason who stood from his seat.

"Don't let anyone enter inside the gate!"

Jason simply said that and walked towards the gate.

"H-Hyun Jason Hunter-nim, h-how do you k-know about that this dual dungeon?!"

"Chief Woo Jin-Chul, it's good to be curious. But something should be left a secret forever and that's best for everyone." Jason stopped in his tracks and said without turning back before walking inside the gate.

Just as he entered inside, he shot like a rocket in a certain direction from where he could feel the waves of energy.

In just a minute or so, he was standing in front of the large gate.

Jason put his hand on the gate and pushed it inside, opening a path for himself.

He looked around and saw Jin-Woo standing frozen in his spot while staring in a daze. He also saw a half-destroyed statue kneeling in front of Jin-Woo and walked towards it.

It was then.

That certain stone statue kneeling next to Jin-Woo slowly stood up. The wings on its back were all torn up, and it only had one remaining arm.

"Greeting, My liege!" The architect greeted Jason politely, bowing down in front of him.

"Good job." Jason patted his shoulder. "Now, you can go. I'll take care of the matter from here."

"As you wish my liege!" The architect bowed again before the statue turned lifeless into a puppet.

Jason turned around and stared at Jin-Woo, his eyes glimmering with a cold glint.

'Now, he is ready.'

He raised his hand and a red aura gathered into the center of his palm. He slowly moved it to Jin-Woo's forehead and touched it.

The red glow had a mind of its own as it seeped directly into Jin-Woo's body, slowly merging with it.

A weird mark appeared on Jin-Woo's forehead alike a serpent one before sinking back and disappearing.

'Good kid. I didn't put my efforts and train you like crazy for nothing. Once it's over and I take over this world, you'll follow me as my right hand man!'

Jason grinned, his smile twisted and resembled a devil. He waited until Jin-Woo was done, completing the memory recollection.

"Hyung? Hyung-nim, you came?"

Jin-Woo finished the data recollection and finally, woke up.

Jason walked towards Jin-Woo and said. "I have prepared a perfect gift for you for this moment. Come out!"

With only a single order, more than two hundred shadows rose from his shadow.

"Hyung-nim, isn't they?..."

"They will follow you from now on. As you still have limited shadow storage, I'm giving you the best for now."

The shadows that Jason summoned were all A-ranks and above including ants, orcs, ice elves, etc. But the highlight was only five shadows that were as strong as S-rank hunters.

With Ant King being the strongest which was already a Marshal Grade shadow.

Tti-ring! Tti-ring! Tti-ring!

Jin-Woo heard the mechanical beeps of the system with a shocked expression. He never thought something like that be possible.

He emotionally looked at Jason, giving him a bear hug.
