Wang An Leiji (Yang Leiji) (What If I Was In Martial Peak)

Chapter 546: The Mortal Coil (1)

"Sir Divine monarch is indeed a wise man!" Some of the men among the 6th ranks laughed out cheerfully. A few of the women also agreed…

"Well, I'd prefer a man. After all, just look at sir Divine Monarch… Yum…" A few of the women among the 6th ranks added, there was a man's voice among them as well…

I cleared my throat. "I'm going to make this clear. At this point I will not be accepting any more spouses, with the exception of truly unforeseeable circumstances where it becomes required of me as the Young Master of High Heaven Cave Heaven." I explained in very clear terms. "Now, I'm going to begin creating more of these Mortal Coils, you'll each refine one into your Small Universes. That means while you wait, you must replay what you saw before. I only have two more chances to show you personally. And I'd like to save that for someone else." I added, as many harvested pieces of the 12 universe columns began flying out of my small universe.

"Divine Monarch, Disciple understands." The 6th ranks bowed and saluted. They were clearly smirking at the ideas that went through their heads once they called themselves "Disciples"... It's a way to call someone "Master" without conspicuously saying as much, and it made me shudder internally.

I once again began the fusion process of the 12 universe columns. This time, I performed the process for 7 individual sets. After learning everything I did from the first one, it became far easier to manipulate this process. Even so, it still took an immense degree of focus to successfully manage the results. As well as taking a degree of time to accomplish.

It took me about a week to complete the fusions. Resulting in an increase in power for the spatial territory. The reason? Well it's simple, the coil is intense and requires a perfect balance. So it's natural that it sheds a degree of the power contained in each individual piece. If it didn't the Mortal Coils I'm creating would be vastly superior to the Universe Pillars. To be fair, the pillars are fantastic, but the Mortal Coil is slightly better. It's only due to it being balanced enough to increase the generation of one's world force while providing the same protection as a standard pillar.

"You know, I'd like to give these to the 9th ranks and fast. I wonder how much better they'll do with these things… Or if it even matters… I'll ask Mother Smiles about trying it out later." I muttered as I inspected my work once again. "Seems like these are just as good as the first one I made… Now, then… let's see…" I continued looking at the relative ages of the peak 6th ranks before me, of which there were a great many… "The five of you come forward. You are the eldest among your rank. You will receive this gift first. You may begin refining." I explained, handing 3 women and 2 men their own Mortal Coils to refine.

"Thank you very much, Sir Divine Monarch! We will do our best to not fail your expectations." The five said with a new vigor.

"Begin, I'll be watching you so nothing crazy happens. After all, if I can't see you break through to the 7th rank, I'd rather still have you at the 6th rank." I ordered, pouring a cup of a specially made brew for myself.

Something about the Mortal Coil's I gave these 6th ranks, is that it would initiate the breakthrough to the next rank. I suspect that they assumed this would be the case, given that I specifically made these in the effort to have such a feat performed. Alas it seems I was wrong, the 5 of these 6th ranks were completely surprised by the sudden event.

There were several who wanted to ask questions. Though they refrained from interrupting this crucial event. It was the first of its time. Breaking the 2 rank limit without a perfect open heaven pill, nor a world fruit. It was utterly shocking to say the least. However, for me it was simply the natural outcome. After all, the orb contained the very might of fate itself. Those chains meant to bind one's fate are nothing when there is a sudden and massive explosion in said fate.

It took a little while for the 5 to finish their breakthrough. However, the results spoke for themselves. In that moment these 5 were now 7th rank open heavens. They inspected themselves and had a half surprised and half disappointed chuckle. The reason was rather apparent to me. After all, I was already so many leaps and bounds beyond the point they just achieved… That comparing me to them would be impossible.

"Sir Divine Monarch, is this truly the strength of the 7th rank? I always felt it was more… Well, powerful?" One of the newly promoted 7th rank men asked, so confused that he forgot his courtesies.

"Hey, don't be ungrateful. Just look at the result. Our small universe has solidified." One of the women among the 5 snapped at the other guy.

"That's right, on top of that, we have all 12 of the columns in our small universe." The other man among the 5 added.

"Yeah, when those 12 work together this barrier… It's simply unfathomable. I doubt any ink force could get through." One of the remaining 2 who hadn't spoken up yet, mentioned while nodding her head.

The final freshly minted 7th rank stood herself up and launched a secret technique, eyeing it carefully. "Yes, this is definitely the 7th rank. There is no doubt about it…" She said, with a small smile and a tear.

"To think… It really is only that small of a change… That caused such a drastic change. I… Thank you so much Sir… No, Lord Temporal Thunder Divine Monarch!" The first one to speak his doubts said, bringing the results full circle.

"Ahahaha! You're all quite humorous. Yes, you have successfully achieved the 7th rank open heaven. And yes, the underwhelming feeling should sink in with you. There really isn't much of a difference, is there?" I laughed, with a finger up and a smile on my face.

The other peak 6th ranks were still confused. But they would all soon understand. And that's when a hand fell upon my shoulder.
