Why Am I a Priestess When I Reach the Maximum Level?

Chapter 60

Chapter 1: Setting Off Towards Flame Dragon City

“Well then, I’ll be off. Though I don’t know what route Miss Vilyric plans to take, be sure to come to the capital quickly. If you run into trouble, don’t forget the token.”

“Mm mm, got it, got it~”

Princess Liliya, dressed in splendid attire, winked at the nearby black-haired girl and gazed earnestly at her exquisite, pretty face, as if trying to etch that beauty into her memory.

“Well then, goodbye, capital.”

After a moment, the princess reluctantly turned and climbed into her carriage.

“I was going to tell you to be careful, but it seems you don’t need to worry. So… don’t make too much noise, see you.”

Fiery Blossom casually patted Vilyric’s shoulder, nodded to her, and hopped into Liliya’s carriage.

…Why does it feel like this person’s words are a bit offensive? Am I some kind of moving disaster?

Considering Miss Hua’s straightforward personality and that they were about to part ways, Vilyric ultimately held back her urge to retort.

“Goodbye! Be careful on your journey too!”

Vilyric waved at the princess, who was leaning out of the carriage window, and Liliya responded with a smile and a thumbs-up, signaling there was no need to worry.

And it was true.

Unlike when they arrived, of the five thousand silver-armored Imperial Guards who had set off with Liliya from the capital, only about a thousand would return alive; most had either perished in the rebellion, died on the battlefield, or had been enslaved due to various charges and left behind at Wanku Fortress. Yet, Layton had dispatched three whole legions to escort the princess back to the capital.

Moreover, thanks to Vilyric’s teachings and repeated battles, Liliya had undergone a complete transformation in both strength and combat awareness, not to mention the presence of Fiery Blossom. Even if those princes brought in a few more royal guards, it was unlikely they could take down the princess.

After all, even legendary beings are still just human and aren’t at the level where they could single-handedly contend with thousands.

Vilyric could now part ways with Liliya and set forth on her own journey with peace of mind.

As the princess’s entourage majestically departed, Vilyric bid farewell to Layton and his son, along with several commanders. She turned down any equipment or gifts they offered and only accepted a sum of kingdom gold coins that might come in handy during her travels before exiting Wanku Fortress through the eastern gate.

Unlike before she met Princess Liliya, when she’d been aimlessly wandering this land, this time, Vilyric had received an accurate and complete map of the entire United Kingdom and a wealth of intelligence, allowing her to plan her route.

She wouldn’t be traveling along the official roads directly to the big cities; although her destination was also the capital, she was taking a much roundabout way compared to Liliya and the others.

There were a few places rumored to have strange tales, and she was quite interested in them, likely spending a good amount of time uncovering their secrets—that was the joy of adventure, after all.

However, arriving at the City of Courage might take her quite a while longer.

After all, the area of the United Kingdom was still vast, exceeding at least ten million square kilometers.

After a few days of relatively uneventful travel, Vilyric finally reached her first scheduled destination.

Honestly, even though she had a simple travel plan, Vilyric wasn’t bound to stick to a fixed route; she would adapt her course according to circumstances. But there was one place she absolutely wanted to see, no matter what.

Flame Dragon City, the only city within the United Kingdom that could definitely be associated with real dragons.

Vilyric hadn’t yet obtained accurate information about the dragons that existed in this world. Most of the accounts in the books of the United Kingdom were vague and often speculative regarding their physical appearance and strength.

But there was no doubt that dragons existed in this world, at least at some point. Whether it was the Beastmen’s Half-Dragons, the ancient dragon turtle Nasarion guarding the Black River along with its subordinates, or even those magical beasts mixed with dragon blood, they all served as evidence.

It was a pity that even with a million troops deployed, the Beastmen’s royal half-dragons hadn’t shown their faces in this war, which left Vilyric feeling somewhat regretful.

Her only pet, her closest companion Xiao Guang, was a giant dragon as well, so Vilyric was determined to figure out the connection between the dragons in this world and those in the “Fantasy Realm,” as well as any differences there might be.

Flame Dragon City was undoubtedly the best place to do so.

It got its name because it was said that long, long ago, a powerful mythological red dragon had fallen here, and the magic-rich dragon blood infused the land, causing the crops grown in this region to possess varying degrees of fire attribute magic.

The magical beasts living in the area seemed to have mutated due to part of the dragon blood.

This situation represented a tremendous opportunity.

Although the red dragon’s blood caused mutations in both plants and soil, the corresponding increase in the yield of various fire-type treasures and resources was significant. These would be needed for potion-making, equipment crafting, feeding magical pets, and assisting mages in their training.

As such, Flame Dragon City gradually developed a specialized production and planting process tailored to the local environment, greatly boosting the economy here, transforming what was once just a small settlement into its current scale.

Today, Flame Dragon City has a permanent population of over three hundred thousand, with five thousand city guards stationed there. It can at least be considered a decent second-tier city within the United Kingdom, much more prosperous than that West Sea City that Vilyric had failed to visit when she first arrived in this world.

By the time Vilyric and Little Dragon Daughter reached the city gates, a long line had already formed.

The surrounding plants were mostly tinged with red, a manifestation of the fire attribute magic contained within them. The city walls and the armor of the guards were also painted with similar symbolic colors, giving it quite a unique character.

The entire Flame Dragon City and its vicinity were noticeably several degrees warmer than outside.

Although autumn in the western part of the kingdom was very cold, and it was getting close to winter, it felt pleasantly warm here, and the residents were relatively lightly dressed, unlike those in other cities who were already bundled up in thick layers.

This made Vilyric’s white holy robe, which she had worn for ages, not feel so out of place, alongside her pet who had a built-in lining.

“Oh, so many people… How long do we have to wait to get into the city?”

Vilyric gazed at the endless stream of people, looking distressed.

“If the master doesn’t want to wait, we can go in from above.”

Xiao Guang pointed at the roughly ten-meter-tall red city wall, which she felt could be easily jumped over. Human regulations held no power over dragons.

“Isn’t that considered sneaking in? Though it could work, it still feels off. I do have an idea.”

“What does the master mean?”

“Follow me.”

Vilyric tugged her pet along, bypassing the long line and reaching the city gate, only to be stopped by several soldiers in red armor wielding spears.

“Stop! To enter the city, please wait in line according to the proper process. Those who trespass will be arrested according to city law.”

A middle-aged man who appeared to be a squad leader stepped forward to block Vilyric and her pet.

Perhaps because both of them were exceptionally beautiful, dressed unusually, and exuding an extraordinary aura, the squad leader spoke rather gently, without recklessly engaging the two girls physically.

Vilyric wasn’t put off at all; instead, she directly pointed to the notice board behind the man, mischief sparkling in her silver-blue eyes.

“I’d like to ask, does the notice you posted still count?”
