Chapter 4: Chapter 4: SHIELD’s Involvement
Nick Fury POV
Nick Fury stood in the darkened command room of the Helicarrier, his one good eye fixed on the screen displaying live footage from Manhattan. The video feed showed the aftermath of a confrontation: craters in the streets, debris scattered everywhere, and traces of residual energy that made Fury's tech team nervous.
"Tell me that's not another alien invasion," Fury said, his voice carrying the weight of command.
Maria Hill, his second-in-command, crossed her arms. "Not exactly, sir. The energy signatures match one individual—a humanoid male."
Fury's brow furrowed. "One? One person caused that much damage?"
"Yes, sir," Maria replied. "He's already been taken to Stark Tower. The Avengers seem to be… handling it."
Fury stared at the screen for a moment before turning on his heel. "Prep a Quinjet. If this guy is strong enough to go toe-to-toe with Thor, I want to see him for myself."

Arrival at Stark Tower
Nick Fury entered the Avengers' briefing room, his trench coat billowing behind him as the Quinjet's engines powered down on the tower's rooftop. The Avengers were already gathered, their attention fixed on the newcomer seated calmly at the table.
Goku looked out of place among the heroes, his wild black hair and orange and blue robes starkly contrasting their modern attire. Despite this, there was a quiet confidence about him that made Fury pause.
"Is this the guy?" Fury asked, his gaze sweeping over Goku. He didn't wait for an answer. "Goku, is it? Care to explain why you've suddenly decided to make yourself known?"
Goku stood and bowed slightly, his actions polite but deliberate. "Director Fury, I've been training in K'un-Lun all my life to protect this world. After hearing about the battle in New York, I knew it was time to leave and help."
Fury eyed him suspiciously. "You're saying you've been hiding in a mystical city while aliens invaded the planet? Convenient."
"I didn't know about the invasion until it was over," Goku said calmly. "But now that I'm here, I want to fight alongside Earth's protectors. I can help."
Fury turned to the Avengers. "And you're all just fine with this? Letting a guy who can level a city join the team without asking a few questions?"
"We've already asked plenty of questions," Tony said, leaning back in his chair. "The guy's got a power level that makes Thor look like a gym rat, and he's not trying to kill us. That's enough for me."
Thor chuckled. "He is a warrior worthy of respect, Director Fury. I vouch for him."
Fury sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Alright. But he's not running loose. He works under SHIELD's oversight—under the Avengers' command. Got it?"
Goku nodded. "Understood."

Introductions
After the tension in the room eased, the Avengers took turns introducing themselves to Goku.
"I'm Steve Rogers, Captain America," Steve said, extending a hand. Goku shook it firmly.
"Natasha Romanoff," Natasha said, her tone cool. "Black Widow."
"Bruce Banner," Bruce said, offering a shy smile. "You've probably heard of the other guy."
"Hulk?" Goku asked, grinning. "I'd love to spar with him sometime."
Bruce paled. "Let's… not."
Tony smirked. "Tony Stark. Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist. And the guy who keeps this team funded."
Thor stepped forward, slapping Goku on the back. "And you already know me, son of Odin, god of thunder!"
Goku chuckled. "It's nice to meet all of you."

The First Mission
Not long after Goku's inclusion, SHIELD received intelligence on a Hydra base in Eastern Europe. Fury decided it was the perfect opportunity to test Goku's loyalty—and his abilities.
The mission was straightforward: infiltrate the base, neutralize its defenses, and secure classified Hydra technology. The Avengers were skeptical of bringing Goku along, but Fury insisted.

Hydra Base, Eastern Europe
The Quinjet hovered silently above the forest as the team rappelled down into the shadows. Goku didn't need ropes; he floated effortlessly to the ground, drawing surprised glances from Natasha and Steve.
"Show-off," Natasha muttered.
As they approached the Hydra base, Goku's senses sharpened. "There are twenty guards inside," he said quietly. "Two heavy weapons near the entrance. A lot of energy coming from underground."
Steve raised an eyebrow. "You can sense all that?"
Goku nodded. "My training lets me sense ki—life energy. It's like a radar for living things."
Tony smirked. "Handy."
The team moved in, with Goku easily dispatching the guards at the entrance. His speed was staggering—Natasha hadn't even drawn her weapon before the guards were unconscious, neatly stacked against the wall.
Inside, the Hydra soldiers were no match. While the Avengers worked as a coordinated team, Goku's raw power and precision were on full display. He moved like a blur, disarming and incapacitating enemies with minimal effort. When they reached the underground lab, they found the Hydra scientists cowering in fear.
"Mission accomplished," Steve said, looking around the now-cleared base. "Good work, everyone."
Tony glanced at Goku. "Not bad for a rookie."
Goku smiled. "This was fun."

Recognition as an Avenger
Back at Stark Tower, the team gathered to debrief. Fury was notably absent, but the energy in the room was lighter. Even Natasha, who had been the most skeptical, seemed impressed.
"You handled yourself well out there," Steve said. "Welcome to the team."
"Officially," Tony added. "We'll even get you a card and everything."
Thor laughed. "You have proven yourself, Goku. Truly, you are one of Earth's mightiest heroes."
Goku smiled warmly. "Thank you. I won't let you down."

Nick Fury POV
In his Helicarrier office, Fury watched the mission footage with a grim expression. Goku's power was undeniable—his precision, his strength, his speed. But power like that always came with risks.
"He's useful," Maria Hill said, standing beside him. "But can we trust him?"
Fury sighed. "We don't have a choice. If he's on our side, he's a weapon we can use. But if he ever turns…"
He didn't finish the thought, but Maria nodded grimly. They both knew the cost of placing faith in someone like Goku.
