Chapter 8 - You’re Looks So Evil Without Glasses II
The kitchen echoed with Wang Xiaosen’s scream as he hugged the door frame and cried. ‘What on earth were you two bastards doing in the kitchen? I am truly innocent; I have nothing to do with you two.’
“Cheers to Chunchun!” Bai Xi held up a juice glass at the dinner table, “May your future is bright!”
The five glasses clinked together crisply, making a sound like wind chimes.
After dinner, everyone went home.
Bai Xi took a shower; he laid on the balcony fence and looked down. Sure enough, Mr. Han was in the small garden again.
Two minutes later, Bai Xi squeezed in through the door.
“Next time -”
“I won’t jump off the building no matter what.” Bai Xi once again ruthlessly interrupted before Han Zhuo could finish his sentence.
“Okay.” Han Zhuo smiled and handed over a flower, “For you.”
“You said during the day,” Bai Xi sat next to him, “As long as I want to know, you will tell me everything.”
Han Zhuo nodded: “Tell me first, what were your thoughts on what happened during this period?”
Bai Xi recalled it carefully.
All the abnormal feelings had started in May of that year. For some reason, he had felt as if someone was always following him, but every time he looked back, nothing seemed abnormal. Yu Jiong even checked the surveillance cameras on the street, but found nothing.
Later, this strange feeling of uneasiness became stronger and stronger, so he had to ask his parents for help.
“My dad is actually a very serious person. He often questions me more before making decision,” Bai Xi said, “But this time, he didn’t have any questions. Within a few days, he invited the first bodyguard, who was said to have a good reputation in the industry and was very responsible. However, the strange thing was the bodyguard resigned not long after and even unilaterally violated the contract. I have always guessed that someone was threatening him.”
“Am I your second bodyguard?” Han Zhuo asked.
Bai Xi nodded.
Han Zhuo turned on the computer: “This is the information I asked someone to check. It is related to the driver who caused the accident. Go take a look by yourself first.”
Bai Xi took the notebook from his hand.
In fact, when the car accident first occurred, the Bai family had already checked the information of Zhao Yuejin and his wife, but Han Zhuo’s was obviously more detailed and even listed one more person, the Zhao family’s son-in-law, Huang Jingyuan.
He had a high degree of education, a well-off family background, and a tall and handsome appearance. He did seem to be a good marriage partner. Bai Xi asked, “What’s the problem?”
“These are the girlfriends he has dated.” Han Zhuo opened another folder.
Looking at the photos filling the screen, Bai Xi said from the bottom of his heart: “Wow.”
“All of them are beautiful girls. They are tall, beautiful, and have good figures.” Han Zhuo opened another photo: “And this is Zhao Yuejin’s daughter, his current wife.”
Bai Xi: “…”
Bai Xi said: “You’re so bad. You can’t judge a book by its appearance.”
“Believe me, a man’s nature never changes,” Han Zhuo poured him a glass of wine, “Especially this playboy, after he gets tired of playing, he may settle down with a peaceful and simple girl. But the other party must also be beautiful, and according to his standards, it’s not difficult to find beautiful girl.”
“If it weren’t for love,” Bai Xi thought for a while, “The Zhao family might have something he wants. He’s willing to use marriage as a price in exchange.”
“Marriage is very sacred, but for many people, it’s not,” Han Zhuo closed the notebook, “If we want to uncover all the conspiracies surrounding you, Mr. Huang is our only breakthrough at the moment.”
Bai Xi nodded, “Yes.”
Bai Xi asked again, “But what is it in me that can make the other party expend so much effort? It definitely can’t be the so-called ‘business rival’, he even has a group of people lurking in the shadows, as elusive as ghosts.”
“I don’t know either,” Han Zhuo shook his head, “But don’t worry, I’ll find out everything and protect you.”
Bai Xi said, “Thank you.”
“After we finish this glass of wine, let’s go and rest,” Han Zhuo clinked his glass with his, “Don’t let these things disturb your night.”
Bai Xi suddenly remembered something else and reached out at Han Zhuo.
“What are you doing?” Han Zhuo turned his head and evaded.
“Glasses,” Bai Xi reached out to grab them.
“No,” Mr. Han changed his mind.
“Don’t be so stingy! Let me see your appearance.” Bai Xi chased after him, like a mischievous rascal teasing a respectable lady on the street.
Han Zhuo dodged to the left.
Bai Xi collided with the wall.
Very dizzy, very embarrassing.
.
Five minutes later, Young Master Bai sat cross-legged on the bed holding an ice pack, with a mournful expression.
Han Zhuo knelt in front of him: “I admit my mistake, let me show you.”
“I won’t see it anymore,” Bai Xi pouted, “Not interested!”
Han Zhuo suppressed a smile, “Are you sure?”
“It’s not like you are a beautiful pretty flower,” Bai Xi laid back on the bed, “What is there to see? And you don’t even have breasts.”
Han Zhuo leaned next to him and helped hold the ice pack, “Then sleep.”
Bai Xi closed his eyes, and the room gradually darkened, leaving only the stars and moon outside the window gently covering the bed through the window screen, offering blessings and embraces from light-years away.
After a while, Han Zhuo put the ice pack aside and pressed a cold compress to prevent a headache the next day.
Suddenly Bai Xi moved quickly at this time.
By the time Mr. Han reacted, the glasses had already fallen into someone else’s hands. He felt a little uneasy and instinctively closed his eyes until he heard laughter in his ears, then said helplessly, “You’re cheating.”
“I’m just playing with you,” Bai Xi was unyielding and quite confident.
Han Zhuo smiled and said, “It’s not a big deal. If you don’t like glasses, then I don’t mind switching to contact lenses.”
After removing the thick lenses, his eyes softened and became moist, with slightly raised peach blossoms. His eyes sparkled, his lips curved into a smile, and his voice deepened and became more magnetic in the night, as if there were claws scratching a heart.
Bai Xi stared at him blankly for a few seconds, then decisively put the glasses back on, and said sternly, “You’re not allowed to casually remove them in the future!”
Rotten peach blossoms* must be pruned, he must not attract bees or butterflies.
[Rotten peach blossoms: attraction that bring too much attention.]
“Then can I go back and rest?” Han Zhuo looked at him with a smile.
“Go, go.” Bai Xi waved, “Good night.”
Han Zhuo closed the door for him, turned around and saw Aunt Li standing in the corridor holding a mop, looking at him suspiciously.
Mr. Han smiled politely, raised his hands to show his innocence, moved down the stairs slowly with his back against the wall, and disappeared quickly.
