Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.477 Healing a Divine Dragon

Okay, so I feel like I have to give a content warning for the chapter. There are some graphic depictions of injuries in the early parts of the chapter, so if you don't feel like reading that, skip to 'It was a bit later when Ria and Agunan arrived home.'

Naturally I escaped that little situation by teleporting both of us to the HomeBase core room.

… what? What did you expect? I can do that teleport without a chant, and it is instant, so it was by far the best way for me to get us out of that situation.

I quickly looked over Lady Janina, and she wasn’t looking her best. Her scales were burned off almost completely, leaving her lower skin layers exposed.

What? You don’t think I know dragon anatomy? Of course I do. How many do you think I’ve woked for food?

She also wasn’t breathing correctly. Usually it is very silent, despite her massive size, but now it sounded like she had to force herself to breathe, so I wasn’t quite sure how she was handling herself.

I quickly got a few Gift Cards out of Collection and spammed them on her to at least get her some HP. Thank God I know they affect dragons, because otherwise I’d honestly be worried.

Spoiler

With the first emergency dealt with, I then began contacting people. Starting off with Agunan and Ria. Neither of them have a System Support, so I can’t contact them that way, but what I can do is pull a bit of mana from Agunan. Not a lot, but he will still feel me doing so, so he should realize I’m fine, and since I’m only taking mana, not HP, he will hopefully not panic about it too much.

I then tried to give Ria a ‘return home’ command through the slave mark, but I’m not so sure if it worked out or not. I’ll just have to wait and see. She does have a tracker, so I’ll be able to confirm it when I get to my office, or I can have someone check it out.

I then contacted Alice and Lua. Both of them knew where we had been, but they didn’t know how I returned, and more importantly, they didn’t know I returned with an injured Divine Dragon.

{... fuck that hurts.} I heard Lady Janina coming to. She then began to move, but honestly speaking, while the core room is large, it isn’t quite large enough for her.

“No! No! No! Don’t move!” I quickly called out. “We are kind of in a tight place, so there really isn’t room for that.”

Lady Janina seemed to hold onto my words. She then attempted to look around, but her normally bright silver eyes were all dull and gray.

{... I can’t see.} She said. {That thing burned my eyes, huh?}

“... you are awfully casual about having like 90% of your scales, as well as your eyes, burned off.”

{Been through worse. At least my body is in one piece.}

“... I almost want to ask, but I’m not actually sure if I really want to know.”

{I’ll tell you one day.}

“... anyway. A quick question. Will it be worse for you if you are in your human form for the healing, because admittedly, I don’t have the facilities to heal a divine dragon.”

{You don’t need to heal. Just give me a year and I’ll be back to normal.}

“... yeah, no. I’m not waiting that long.” I told her. “So human form, yes or no?”

She didn’t answer, instead her body was engulfed in light, before compressing down into a humanoid shape. I instantly rushed to her side, and held her up with my four arms, only to realize that my palms were burned to shit, and I could even see some of the bones in my hands, as my flesh had burned away to the point where they were visible.

… yeah. Maybe holding a scorched divine dragon with my hands wasn’t the best idea, but can you blame me?

So instead of holding her with my beat up arms, I conjured some Magical Arms to hold her, before I teleported both of us to the surface, specifically to the medical bay of HomeBase.

I laid Lady Janina on one of the beds, but it must have felt like shit, because she winced quite badly as I did. I also now took notice of how bad her human form looked like.

Her scaled skin was burned away, leaving blistering … meat visible for us to see. Yeah, it isn’t pretty. Naturally she wasn’t wearing any clothes, so she must not have conjured any. And her hair was burned to almost nothing.

I informed Lua of where we are, and asked her to come over ASAP, before I also used the HomeBase PA System to call for Albus.

Then I dug my Collection for Nurse Dragonmaid and quickly summoned her as well.

Spoiler

Nurse Dragonmaid couldn’t do much to Lady Janina, but she did get to work healing my four burnt arms. My OG arms were more damaged than the additional pair I made later, simply because of the length of contact, but even the later arms suffered some bad burns.

Ernus had just gotten out some of the burn cream we had when Lua, followed by Alice for some reason, burst through the medbay door. The two looked at me and my burnt arms first, before turning their eyes to Lady Janina. And honestly speaking, while Lua took it alright, Alice looked like she was ready to throw up, as she rushed out of the room.

“... what happened?” Lua asked.

“... we may have flown a bit too close to the Sun. … or a sun god.” I admitted. And yes, Ra lost his big G privileges. He is now just a god, not a God.

“Are you feeling fine?” Lua asked. “How much HP did you lose?”

“Not too much. Like 800. I’m much more worried about her.” I said, pointing at Lady Janina.

She had passed out again, most likely from the pain.

“I already used three Gift Cards on her, but they didn’t do enough. Can you heal her?” I asked.

“... I hope I can, but I’m not sure.” Lua admitted.

“Thanks. Just try your best.” I then turned to Alice, who returned from … well, probably from the trash can she threw up in. “Alice, can you go to my office and check if Ria and Agunan are headed back home? I tried to send Ria a ‘return home’ order, but I’m not sure if it went through.”

“... Yes. I’ll do that.” Alice said, before she rushed out.

Albus arrived soon, and he also went to work helping Lua heal Lady Janina, but he was looking even worse than Alice had been. I suppose he is a lizard-folk, and for lizard-folk, dragons are basically demi-gods. So seeing one, even if it is the human form, injured this badly must be something for him.

But despite all of that, Albus did his best to help Lua with the healing.

After my hands were fully wrapped in protective layers, which would allow my skin to regrow while I used cards to keep myself overhealed, I moved onto helping Alice and Albus. Which meant spamming as many healing cards on Lady Janina as I could.

I counted every Gift Card, Numinous Healer and Dian Keto the Cure Master I used on Lady Janina, and in total, from just my cards, I healed her for more than 100,000 HP.

Spoiler

But we had gotten her breathing to calm down, and her skin had fully grown back. But her skin looked like human skin, not like the scaly skin of a dragon’s usual humanoid form.

Her wings were still damaged, but they were never the most damaged part of her body, so they should heal with a bit more time. Her face also still had some burn scars and her scalp was raw, but at least she didn’t look like she was in critical condition.

We then moved her from the bed to a healing tank. The healing tanks were kind of like the evolution tanks, except designed to have higher quality healing liquid. Because of that, you have to monitor anyone inside of one 24/7, or it can have some unwanted consequences.

Lucky for me, I have avatar dolls and I can just order one of my monsters to watch over Lady Janina.

It was a bit later when Ria and Agunan arrived home. They had flown back in Ria’s B.E.S. Big Core MK-2.

Spoiler

And the two of them didn’t bring with them the best of news.

Because apparently my little disappearing act had caused some chaos in the Dragon’s coast. And since Lady Janina is out of commission, I’ll probably have to deal with this mess.

So I headed out there, but I wasn’t going to fly all the way to the coast, no, I have a teleport seal there, so I’m going to use it. … I should be able to.

So after a chant, I disappeared from HomeBase and reappeared within Lady Janina’s cave.

I then headed out of the cave, while using Draconic Body to turn myself into the closest approximation of a dragon I could. … which is still more of a winged salamander than a dragon, but I’m getting there.

Noticing me, a lot of the adult, or ‘greater’ as the System calls them, dragons gathered around me, yelling this and that about me killing the supreme.

I did my best to reassure them that Lady Janina was alive, but I’m not completely sure if they accepted it fully. I think just suspicion and so on. Most of them did see how injured Lady Janina really was, so they might assume I finished her off.

But at the same time, the dragons couldn’t really do anything. In dragon culture, if you lose to someone in a fight, you are beneath them in hierarchy. And if I, even by the way of a summoning, beat the supreme dragon, then technically I’m above all of them in power.

I then picked a few of the dragons whom I knew to be some of the strongest from all the fights my monsters have had with them to take temporary leadership of the area until Lady Janina could return, before I used Space Magic to teleport back home.

Yes, I’ve fixed the issue where the HomeBase barrier prevented teleportation to HomeBase. I just have to send a ping with my terminal to HomeBase first. And this can be done with any HomeBase access device, not that anyone other than me even knows teleportation magic.

Back on HomeBase, Lua came to talk to me about something. Specifically about her Lifesaver title. It has been upgraded. … and a few other things also happened.

Spoiler

… Yeah. I’m just going to ignore all of Lua’s skills for now. Of course she has grown in levels, it has been like 50 chapters since you saw her status.

The important parts are her upgraded Lifesaver title, and the nice little star next to her race.

Let’s start with the title. It is actually quite simple. You can get it by healing someone for more than 30,000 HP when you have the Lifesaver title, without going into overheals. We had Laura and Mia check.

The effect of Divine Lifesaver is just a superior version of OG Lifesaver. OG Lifesaver gave all healing magic a 2x buff, but Divine Lifesaver gives all healing magic a 5x buff.

The star on the other hand, well, apparently the System really didn’t like the idea of Lady Janina potentially dying. I’m honestly expecting a night visit by the Goddess where I get bonked.

But yeah. Lua had an advanced System Support. It is interesting that she got her System Support, and Lifesaver, for healing me, and now she got her Lifesaver and System Support upgraded for healing Lady Janina.

But, and there is something more, I feel like I need to show you my status as well. Because I also obtained a title. Or two. … maybe three.

One of them is the standard Lifesaver, which is nice, but the others …

Spoiler

… so yeah. I guess the Ruler of the Dragon Coast (temporary) is understandable, I did kind of take command there. And even the System realizes that I’m just the temporary leader while Lady Janina recuperates.

… But the Dragon King title is … well, a bit more permanent. You can get it by having at least 10 Greater True Dragon acknowledging you as their superior, which I kind of just did. It gives you access to the Dragon King class race, which comes with access to the two Draconic skills I already have, which is probably why both of them leveled up. It also boosts the efficiency and power of both skills, kind of like how Lua’s Saint title boosts her Holy Magic.

Spoiler

But anyway. That happened. I don’t really know what to say. Let’s just wait until Lady Janina wakes up and see how we’ll solve this mess.

So yeah. Stuff happened and Brian, and Lua, got more OP. Also, before anyone asks, Brian cannot currently have both Dragon King and Dragon Hearted active at the same time, as Dragon Hearted is a special race and doesn't allow for the use of a class race at the same time. This will change when One of Every Race levels up the next time, but for now, he can't have both.
