CH.497 Cambion
Alright. Starting off today, I’ll be summoning the new Synchroes I have. I have 12 I haven’t summoned yet, and since my Synchro Challenge sits at 42, I can get to 54. Plus a few more because of the rewards, so I should get to at least 57.
So let’s get summoning.
Ancient Fairy Dragon; Ancient Sacred Wyvern; Arcanite Magician; Archfiend Zombie-Skull; Blackwing Armed Wing; Dark Strike Fighter; Exploder Dragonwing; Hyper Psychic Blaster; Sea Dragon Lord Gishilnodon; Trident Dragion; Turbo Cannon and XX-Saber Gottoms.
With that, I’ve summoned 54 unique Synchro monsters. So I can claim two rewards, the 45 reward and the 50 reward.
For 45, as you may remember, I got Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend and Red Resonator.
For 50, my reward was a bit larger. Because it had a total of 3 Synchro monsters, and one Tuner. Those monsters were Crimson Resonator, Red Rising Dragon, Red Nova Dragon and Red Supernova Dragon.
I didn’t know they made a retrain/upgraded Red Nova Dragon, but I like it. Also, three Tuners? That’s new. I guess two is just too normal, so you have to use three.
Well, let’s summon the four new dragons, so I can claim one more reward.
My 55 summons reward was Garden Rose Maiden and Witch of the Black Rose.
Which is a lot less exciting than the dragon Nova Dragons I just got, but honestly, I like my Garden Rose Flora. Mainly because she is still the only Synchro Tuner I have. But it is good to have her Dark counterpart.
I summoned her, and that left my Synchro challenge at 59.

Next Reward:Deep Sea Repetiteur + Deep Sea Minstrel |
And my next reward is quite interesting. Some sort of Deep Sea Diva archetype, or at least that is what it seems.
I should probably give a Deep Sea Diva to Cailie. I mean, she is a mermaid, a singer and … you get the point. She is very similar to Cailie. Except Diva is Water attribute, while Cailie is Wind.
Also, is it just me, or are the Synchro summoning rewards somehow very Cailie specific? Just asking.
I mean, I got Ruddy Rose Dragon, the two Garden Rose monsters, and now the Deep Sea monsters all as rewards for the Synchro challenge. All of them almost seem like they belong in Cailie’s deck.
Like I’m not complaining, but who is picking these rewards? I don’t think it is a System agent, or they’d tell me. … they would tell me, right? So it has to be some other God, god or demi-god.
Well, whatever. As long as they give me nice stuff, I’ll accept it.
After getting extra copies of Garden Rose Maiden and Witch of the Black Rose, and delivering both to Cailie, I went to the Factory with Janina.
And don’t ask why, you know why. She wanted to fight Red Nova, and Red Supernova.
Red Nova Dragon was actually quite the tough opponent for Janina, because he ‘Cannot be destroyed by an opponent's card effects’ and ‘When an opponent's monster declares an attack: You can target the attacking monster; banish this card, and if you do, negate that attack. During the next End Phase: Special Summon this card banished by this effect.’
Those two effects gave Janina a bit of a hard time, as all of her usual strategies didn’t really work, but she did in the end manage to defeat Red Nova Dragon.
Red Supernova was bit of a different story. Because of his ‘banish this card, also banish all cards your opponent controls.’ effect. When activated, it banished Janina out of the Factory, effectively ending the fight. Sure it isn’t exactly a victory, because Janina can just come back, but still.
And since Red Supernova returns faster than Janina does, I think maybe it should count as Supernova’s victory, but Janina would not agree with that, so I’ll just call it a stalemate.
But the banishment effect did get Janina’s attention. Because it is just Draconic Magic, she should be able to do it as well, so she wanted to learn how to do so.
And then she found out about Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend’s effect, and decided she’d learn it as well.
I decided to join her, as I wanted to learn more Draconic Magic than just fire breath. Yes I already know others, but dragon breath, mostly in the form of fire, is my go to.
It didn’t take Janina too long to learn how to perform the technique, so she moved onto the banishment effect, but I kept on working with Scarlight.
We were soon joined by my other two Red Dragon Archfiends, aka. the original and the /Assault Mode.
They were also able to give me some tips, the /Assault Mode especially, so I eventually managed to do something somewhat similar to Scarlight’s effect.
The power isn’t quite there with mine, but it looks decently correct, and the power can be added in later.
I then decided to work a bit on my Reverse Union. I kind of impulsively went way too far with it during the exhibition match, so now I wanted to see if I can actually do it when I’m not pumped up on adrenaline.
And who better to do it with than one of the three dragons that were there with me? Well, with hindsight I can say almost anyone. Any of my weaker monsters would have been better, as to why I usually practice with them.
But hey. I did it with a Fenrir, who is basically a LV.10 monster. So a LV.8 dragon couldn’t be that bad, right?
Well, it kind of was. Because while I could Reverse Union with Red Dragon Archfiend, during our union, we may or may not have destroyed an entire Factory room, while we also completely stomped on Scarlight and /Assault RDA.
Just … the mind merger is fricking wild and makes me want to go crazy. I think it is worse because RDA is an Archfiend, as well as his destructive tendencies.
But I suppose it was lucky that we were in the Factory. Because the Factory is easy to fix and there is no death. So the biggest damage came to my psyche, because being only somewhat in control, while losing to destructive tendencies isn’t fun.
With the problems with Reverse Union realized, I went to train it full force. And this time, I’d avoid monsters that have strong tendencies to be destructive, villainous, or anything else like that.
I stuck to more ‘noble’ monsters, and with that, even high level Reverse Unions went well.
Yubel ended up being by far my favorite Reverse Union target. She was just … amazing. She’d go with anything I wanted, and her effect to reflect all battle damage onto the opponent was amazing, so I’ll definitely be using her for Reverse Unions in the future.
So after we left the Factory, I summoned Yubel and performed a Reverse Union with her outside the Factory, because I was decently sure I’d get a new race out of it. And as expected, I did.
My new race, Cambion, is basically half-demon, half-human. I had Laura find out some info about it, and it came to be when demon summoning was discovered.
Some people wanted power from the demons, and the demons transforming them into Cambions was one of the ways they got power.
Cambions could also use Demonic Magic and Demonic Might, something I also got the skills for, so that is cool. But sadly, there is a high chance I’d get in trouble for demon summoning if I used that race, so I won’t be using it outside of HomeBase, unless I can explain away my ability to summon demons without the usual sacrifices.
Besides, Demonic Magic and Demonic Might are basically just Draconic Magic and Draconic Body but for Cambions. And I have demonic dragons. So maybe I can mix the two. Or four in this case. But I’d be mixing Demonic Might with Draconic Body, and Demonic Magic with Draconic Magic, so two is technically correct.
I also got a new Modifier Race, Heterochromic. It isn’t all that exciting and it doesn’t even show up in your race if you have it. The only reason it is treated as a ‘Modifier Race’ for me is because of One of Every Race.
It just allows me to control my eye color, and I can have two different eye colors. So while it isn’t a bad addition, it is kind of mediocre, as it doesn’t really do anything, except changing my eye colors.
I did later learn that Heterochromia does come with one big advantage. It helps in using eye based skills like Mana Vision in just one of your eyes. It isn’t that important usually, but if you have multiple Vision skills, being Heterochromic does really help in using two of them at the same time, which is why evolving into a Heterochromic is common with those that have multiple Vision skills.
