Even though her closest people have accepted her as a dragon and continued to serve her coffee and help her fight for her right to live in her home town of Fairport, Washington, she's now the victim of a campaign to re-home dragons into the wilderness. And the, uh, human, uh, rights of dragons around the globe, following the world-wide dracomorphosis that happened on August 24, are at stake, as every country and every culture scrambles to decide what to do about this massive change in world demographics and social dynamics. Maybe 1 in 2,000 people have turned out to be dragons in seemingly magical or supernatural disguise, but now they're living openly as the hoarding, territorial, protective monsters that they are. And most of humanity seems to have been ready to accept them all along. These people fit better now that everyone can see that they're dragons. But not all the institutions of the world are ready to accept this, and neither are any people who are heavily invested in them. It's been a week and half, and it seems like things can only get worse. Except that, also, it turns out there may be wizards or something at work, too. And one of Meghan's recent love interests is one of them. Can Meghan reconnect with her people, Rhoda the wise woman who lived across the hall from her in the Magnolia Apartments and Chapman the Artist who shares Meghan's therapist? And can they find a way to cultivate some peace and harmony between humans and dragons in her corner of the world?
