Chapter 54 - Aftermath (1)
After Zang Ya finished ordering the guards, he raised his sword, wiped it, and then put the sword back into its scabbard.
The sword returned to its shell and made a muffled sound.
After doing this, Zang Ya seemed to realize that something was missing. He looked around, and then his eyes were fixed on An Yun, who was still hiding behind, with only two eyes looking at him.
Zang Ya was silent for a moment, then walked toward where An Yun was hiding and stretched out his hand toward him.
An Yun stared at Zang Ya walking over. When he stepped on the ground in front of him, he saw the water splashing under his feet, with a bit of red tint. He didn’t know that it had been left by the assassins. The blood stains that he had never noticed before.
An Yun raised his head and first saw Zang Ya’s blood-stained hand reaching toward him, and then Zang Ya’s gaze staring at him.
An Yun hesitated for a moment, then stretched out his hand and let Zang Ya hold it.
Zang Ya, stained with some blood, took An Yun’s hand, which was like mutton-fat jade, and turned into a colourful picture under the reflection of light and dark time.
The moment Zang Ya took An Yun’s hand, he felt that it was trembling slightly. He was a little surprised. He looked up at An Yun and saw that his lips were tightly pressed together. It was obvious that he had been frightened just now and was not aware of it at that moment.
Zang Ya’s expression condensed, and then he took An Yun’s hand and squeezed it tighter.
The bloody scene just now had made An Yun feel particularly scared. When facing Zang Ya, because he had witnessed his ferocious energy, his fear was suddenly amplified, making him tremble uncontrollably.
Even though Zang Ya would not be so cruel when facing him, An Yun still couldn’t calm down, and his hands were shaking so much that he couldn’t restrain himself at all.
Until An Yun’s hand was squeezed hard, which made him raise his head in surprise and meet Zang Ya’s eyes.
Zang Ya just looked at him like that, without much expression on his face, but his tone was very firm as he said to him, “Don’t be afraid, I’m here.”
An Yun suddenly remembered that Zang Ya had also said the same thing to him when the assassins attacked. Later, when the assassins had wanted to assassinate him, Zang Ya was the first to discover and protect him.
No matter how cruel Zang Ya was to others, no matter how harsh his methods were, he seemed to have never been that way toward him and instead protected him well.
In an instant, An Yun’s heart calmed down.
An Yun held Zang Ya’s hand, then nodded heavily to him and responded solemnly, “Yes!”
Zang Ya looked at An Yun and felt that there were tiny spots of light in his eyes. Even in the messiest environment, he looked extremely beautiful.
After that, Zang Ya and An Yun did not continue to play but returned to their homes under the protection of the city guards.
Although Zang Ya had been brave when he dealt with the assassin just now, he was still injured.
As soon as they returned to the mansion, everyone screamed in shock when they saw the miserable condition of Zang Ya and An Yun. All of a sudden, the originally peaceful Zang Mansion exploded like water droplets put into boiling oil.
The lanterns in the mansion were lit one by one, illuminating the mansion that was originally hidden in the darkness like daylight.
When An Yun saw that Zang Ya was injured, he wanted to stay with him, but Zang Ya persuaded him to go back and told him not to come out.
An Yun was a little surprised when he heard this, but he didn’t insist anymore and obediently returned to his room.
Soon, looking at Old Madam Zang, who was surrounded not far away, and Zang Ke, who came hurriedly after that, An Yun finally understood the intention of Zang Ya’s words just now. Zang Ya wouldn’t let him stay there for fear that he would confront Old Madam Zang.
After Old Madam Zang and Zang Ke came over, an endless stream of doctors arrived, and all the servants coming and going were delivering things for Zang Ya.
An Yun looked at Zang Ya’s entrance, which was as busy as a vegetable market. Thinking about Zang Ya’s injury he had just seen, he was still a little worried.
“Fulang, there are servants watching over there. Do you want to take a bath first and then rest?”
An Yun heard the voice coming from beside him and looked back, only to see Xiao Cui speaking while staring at him with worried eyes.
Seeing An Yun looking back at her, Xiao Cui still couldn’t hold back and pointed at his clothes. “Fulang, if the young master sees you in this condition, I’m afraid he won’t feel at ease.”
An Yun listened to her words and glanced down in the direction of her finger. He then realized that the moon-white gown he had worn that day was stained with a little blood and other things for some unknown reason and had become extremely dirty.
An Yun’s eyes suddenly widened when he heard this. He hadn’t even noticed it on himself just now and had no idea when he had gotten these stains.
Xiao Cui watched An Yun’s movements from the side and knew that he probably hadn’t realized what he looked like just now, so she reminded him first. She wanted to open her mouth to persuade him again but saw Qing Yue coming in from the door.
As soon as Qing Yue entered, An Yun stood up immediately and said anxiously to her, “Why are you here? Is there something going on with the young master? Do you need me to come over?”
Qing Yue’s eyes quickly glanced at An Yun. Seeing that he was genuinely worried about her young master, she couldn’t help but have a good impression of him. She immediately smiled and said comfortingly to An Yun, “Fulang, don’t be anxious. The young master doesn’t need your help. He just wants me to say something to you.”
An Yun breathed a sigh of relief when he heard this but was still a little disappointed at the same time. He then stared at Qing Yue, eagerly waiting to hear her tell Zang Ya’s instructions.
Qing Yue met An Yun’s clear eyes and looked at him gently, even though he was in such a sorry state, he was still so beautiful. She couldn’t help but sigh in her heart, realizing why the young master dotes on him so much.
