Custom monster system

Hunting

Alex expected that it may take a few days for the preparations to finish and for the forward group to make their way over to this land mass. Knowing this he simply flew up into the air and began to patrol the area in order to find something to eat. It didn't take him very long either as there were two monsters nearby who both made a bit of noise simply by being there , beotodus and bambaro. Both of these monsters were about as stealthy as a snoring hog and tended to unnecessarily damage their surroundings as they traveled.-

For beotodus it was from it's scales scraping everything as it passed by while also leaving deep furrows in the snow where it went. It also didn't help that the thing hunted the popos which were strange mammoth pig creatures the size of a minivan. Beotodus itself was a terrible choice of colors for a snowbound predator as it was black and yellow with a large rhino like horn at the front of it's face. Besides this it was very similar to both the lavasioth and juratodus in the new world which Alex attributed to them being three evolutions of the same distant ancestor.-

Bambaro however was a large bipedal monster with thick fur and scales all over its body with a mix of moose and cow features making up it's face. The most notable features on the monster however were the two massive flat mooselike horns that it used to pick up dirt , snow , trees and stone to carry or directly fling at a chosen target. In terms of power the bambaro won hands both however the beotodus also had the ice element and even used it as a sort of armor over it's back.-

None of this really matter to Alex however as both were little more than dinner in his opinion and he merely had to choose which to taste first. In the end he chose the bambaro simply to see if it tasted like moose. There wasn't really even a fight as Alex dropped out of the sky onto the monsters head with a Tenshou infused stomp killing it instantly. After that he grabbed the corpse while ignoring the terrified popos and brought it back to his current residence. He knew a thing or two about butchering thanks to watching the hunters take his prey apart and put that knowledge to use to dismantle the corpse.-

First he slit the pelt and pulled it off the body before setting it to the side and working on the removing the organs without rupturing any of them. Finally it was time to separate the meat from the bones which was slightly a pain to do but Alex still managed. All that was left were the bones and head that had been crushed under his foot. Alex wasn't picky with what he ate and ate all of that as well. Cooking the meat was fairly easy as he just directly roasted it with his flames before eating it.-

Alex didn't get anything new from his meal as it was only [hard horns] and [ice resistance] which he already had. Alex passed the days by hunting or sleeping mostly as there was little more to do until the forward group arrived. It took a week and a half before he finally found Zain and the handler checking out the area. He Greeted them before bringing them back to the area he chose where they were surprised to see a huge stone building already standing near one of the hotsprings.-

They sent up a flare to let the third fleets airship know where to go before chatting with Alex about what he had found so far. It took a couple of hours for the airship to anchor itself above the area after fighting with the weather the whole way. Once here though the builders disembarked from the airship and got to work immediately. Alex could never get over how efficient the construction work in this world was as you could visibly watch the architecture spring up. All that these people needed to rebuild in little time was resources such as stone and wood.
