Douluo Dalu 3 | Divine Destruction

Chapter 153: Growing Darkness

Things had very quickly gone awry for the Spirit Pagoda and Class 0 was there to witness it all in real time. After all, it was their leader who had caused the current bloodshed that filled the once magnificent tower.

Now standing as nothing more than a battered and crumbling disaster soaked in blood, the Spirit Pagoda commanded none of the respect it once had. Despite that, none of Class 0 focused on that.

It had all happened too fast, far too fast. Wulin had placed some kind of device on the ground and then the Spirit Ascension Platform changed into a realm of darkness. Looking back, that was possibly the least surprising event of the bunch but it was still incredibly jarring to see the forest fade away as every soul beast in the platform turned into energy before their very eyes.

The energy flowed into all of them as controlled by something and, in hindsight, that was probably done by Wulin as well. In an instant, their rings jumped up immensely and they could barely even lift a finger when the energy flow stopped, their bodies feeling bloated beyond comparison. In that one moment, enough energy to turn all their rings crimson filled their bodies.

That much energy should have been fatal but somehow or another, it remained still in their body like a tamed beast. Over time, they would have more than enough time to grow and adapt to the energy. In the end, the overflowing energy wouldn't just make their rings grow but it would probably have a positive effect on their energy.

That wasn't on the forefront of their mind though as they suddenly found themselves back in their real bodies outside the Ascension Platform. Hearing the screams of war was eerily familiar to that day three years ago, a shiver running down their spines as the realization sunk in.

"What the hell?" Xie Xie was the first to speak after the events that transpired over the course of a minute or so finally clicked in his brain. Looking into the heavens, he could see them. That indomitable presence that demanded respect just by breathing. Xie Xie could tell who that was, he knew that man.

"Looks like everything was shut down. Seto did well as always." A hint of envy was in Yuena's tone as she looked around before turning to her gobsmacked peers. Clapping her hands and smacking Xie Xie across the face for good measure, Yuena smirked as she explained. "You recognize that guy up there, right?"

Holding a hand to his cheek, Xie Xie didn't even bother responding just in case Yuena's secrets were as massive as Wulin's and his anger wasn't well received. Instead, it was Mu Xi who responded, her tone conflicted as she gazed upon the God of Devils.

"Grace Mirchea Luslec… right?" Frowning immensely, Mu Xi was still conflicted on this entire matter and it wasn't helped by the suddenness of the situation. The Spirit Pagoda wasn't good but she didn't think that everyone that was dying all around them deserved to die.

"No, that's wrong." Looking at the man with conflicted emotions in his eyes, Xie Xie was absolutely sure he was right yet he still found it hard to believe. Ever since he combined his martial souls and awakened his blood essence, he had a connection with Wulin and Yuena that couldn't explained. Grace Mirchea Luslec had that connection, the same one he shared with his one and only best friend.

Raising a brow, Yuena was honestly surprised that Xie Xie could tell. Wulin was quite good at acting so if she didn't have their connection and knowledge of who he was, she wouldn't even be able to tell. It was curious and something she'd have to ask about later.

"...It's the boss, right?" Shockingly, however, it was Xu Xiaoyan who spoke first. Her body shook as the trauma she had just barely gotten over resurfaced but she didn't tear her eyes away from the God of Devils hovering in the air that bent and twisted around him, the crack in the air tainting it with shades. He truly looked divine up there, the sky itself cradling him like a cloak.

"That's right, I'm surprised you two noticed." Nodding her head with a proud grin, Yuena glanced toward the sky. White was a maniac as expected and Di Tian was struggling against Yun Ming which was also expected to some extent. "So what do you think? Tell me sincerely."

Grace Mirchea Luslec wasn't a person to be idolized, he was a devil that spread blood wherever he walked. The Sea God created a legend of perseverance, the God Emotions left a legacy of hope, and the God of Devils destroyed everything he came into contact with.

"I… don't like it." Xu Xiaoyan was the first to answer, her tone conflicted as her lower lip quivered while she looked at her idol expressionless as he gazed upon the bloodshed. That wasn't her leader, that wasn't the boy she respected. "But… there is a reason right?"

That was a shared sentiment, that much was clear to Yuena as the three heavy gazes fell upon her. If she didn't give them the answer they wanted, their bond may break right here and now. It was a bit funny, now that she thought about it. A few years ago, she wouldn't have cared about such a thing but now…

"Two God Killers with Shrek's name on it are directly beneath us and Luslec plans on forcefully taking hold of them." Realization glowed in those three sets of eyes, the realization that things were far more serious than they had expected. For the Spirit Pagoda to plan to use God Killers… meant that war was coming far sooner than expected.

Their conflicted gaze flicked to their leader, relief and concern swirling within. Wulin had a proper reason for this which was incredibly reassuring but… FUG has existed for longer than they knew him. Could they really say they knew the boy they followed?

"You've got things wrong, by the way. Wulin was never Luslec, he has always been Tang Wulin first and foremost." Speaking solemnly Yuena smiled softly at her peers. Yes, that was right. He may have been born as Grace Mirchea Luslec but he had always been the Tang Wulin they knew and loved.

"…" Silence reigned supreme as they contemplated what that meant. What that meant for their best friend, leader, partner, who was waging war against one of the Four Great Powers. Or maybe, after this skirmish, that title should change.

FUG, who was obliterating the Spirit Pagoda main branch, forced its way into the now Five Great Powers.

Hey there, hope you liked the chapter.

The secret is revealed! Took a while but most of Wulin's secrets are finally revealed to the main cast and perhaps the rest will be revealed to them soon enough. Also, how do you feel about FUG becoming the fifth Great Power? I personally think it makes sense, but I admit I'm a little biased.
