Douluo Dalu 3 | Divine Destruction

Chapter 160: Shadow of Eternity

A pure white hand shot out of the rubble of the fallen Spirit Pagoda main branch, a similarly colored spear eradicating the tons upon tons of materials so rare that their price was incalculable that held him down.

"What a monster…" Sweat dripped down the God of Heaven's brow as he gazed upon the crimson light glowing brighter than the sun. A single drop of blood. That was the cause of the end of the world.

"Monster isn't enough for somebody like him." A deep voice responded to him, the Beast God hardly even sparing the God of Heaven a glance. A ceasefire was the obvious choice when the world may as well be ending before their very eyes.

"That's true!" A chuckle escaped the God of Heaven as he fell to the ground. Sitting on the ground with his hands on the ground he looked at the crimson sky with a wry smile. To think there would be a day when "monster" wouldn't be enough to describe somebody. Shrek, the den of monsters, couldn't dream of housing this anomaly.

But that smile fell as the crimson glow was condensed into a small orb, all of that destructive power contained in a shell no larger than a pebble in front of his fingertip. Luslec wasn't content with just containing that tyrannical power, he wanted to use it. And the one on the other end of that finger was…

"What is that idiot thinking?" Clicking his tongue, a pure white spear manifested in the God of Heaven's grasp.

She couldn't breathe. Her throat was hoarse and any blood that had stained her flesh was certainly gone by now. If it weren't for her divinity, her skin and bone would have melted away alongside it.

'What are you thinking?' Yuena could feel death's grasp just as clearly as she had when standing before the Asura God's blade but she trusted her partner. He had a plan, the clarity in his eyes was merely the confirmation she needed.

Yuena had wounded him, that much she was sure of, but it wasn't to this extent. Squeezing even a single droplet of blood from such a tiny wound would be impossible with Luslec' perfect control of his muscles. Yet his blood had been spilled. Blood personifying annihilation itself flowed from that meager wound. If he wasn't the cause, the universe was playing a sick joke.

Standing before that glob of unadulterated annihilation, Yuena knew it was futile. Space was locked, time was held in a chokehold, and all her other elements were so outclassed it wasn't even funny. She wasn't even sure she could use divinity to defend against it.

But she trusted him. She had many ways to get out of this situation, her battle armor and the Silver Dragon Spear alone would be more than enough. But she didn't summon them. She trusted him with her life just as he trusted her with his.

For that reason, even when the streak of crimson annihilation soared through the air without fear she didn't feel fear. She couldn't react fast enough to dodge or block it but her spiritual sea was only slightly affected due to it being the main source of her divinity.

That was why, when she felt the pure white spear and coiled staff appear before her she could barely resist the urge to roll her eyes. Yun Ming's pure white form was unblemished, specks of white light glistening around him like stars. Even after fighting Di Tian he still had more than enough energy to bear the brunt of Luslec's unbridled annihilation.

Qiangu Dongfeng on the other hand was a ghost of his former self. Impeccable, elegant, and enigmatic. Those three words best describe the master of the Spirit Pagoda. But right now, covered in dirt and grime from head to toe, wearing rags and shattered metal, and sporting a wound that nearly cut him in two he had never been worse.

And yet, he continued to fight. His eyes were hazy and his spiritual sea was shaky indicating he was surely on the brink but whether out of pride or a desire to protect her, he stood before her. It almost would have been heartwarming if not for the unending hatred that emanated from the Pagoda Master, all of which was directed at the God of Devils.

"!!!" A silent roar left the Sea God Pavillion Master as his pure white spear clashed against the malevolent power of pure annihilation. A not so quiet shout left the enraged Pagoda Master, his unending anger revealing itself to the world without fear. In this moment of life or death, the reputation he had built up for a century hardly mattered to Qiangu Dongfeng.

Under the power of what were once the number one and two powerhouses in the world, the red beam… did not not dim in the slightest. Luslec remained as serene as always, his hand lowering as he returned his attention to the flames of battle that had been reduced to embers.

Fiercely struggling against the might of a single droplet of blood, both the God of Heaven and Pagoda Master were pushed back inch by inch. The pressure that had briefly faded returned once more, its weight nearly crushing the Silver Dragon Empress' organs.

And yet, the glob of annihilation suddenly shot back floating above Luslec's open palm. Wiggling its way back into his body, the malevolent presence of Annihilation released its hold on the battlefield.

Breathing heavily, both Yun Ming and Qiangu Dongfeng were on their last legs, their vision swimming from strain and exhaustion. And yet, even they couldn't help but widen their eyes when they saw the sea of cloaked figures that suddenly appeared.

The Beast God floated behind Luslec, his draconic body already healed from all the wounds of the God of Heaven, while White smirked proudly at the God of Devil's side. The army of FUG once more stood behind their god without fear and yet things were far different.

Blood soaked their robes and liquid shadow replaced the torn sections and their numbers were slightly fewer but besides that, they remained the same shadowy figures. The towering spirit beast growled hatefully at their side, their ranks hardly affected by the battle much like their human companions. Yet, despite FUG's low casualties, the Spirit Pagoda had lost far too much.

"You really should upgrade your defenses. They were simply horrible." A playful, sauve voice filled the tense atmosphere as the Second Slayer fearlessly approached the army of FUG. "Oh, my apologies. You don't have much to defend anymore, do you?"

The smirk resting upon Pephomemore Seto's face made the Pagoda Master's blood boil but he couldn't muster the energy to complain. Instead, he could only stare aimlessly at what he knew would shatter his reputation more than everything that happened today.

Two of the three God Killers floated behind Seto, golden chains holding them in place as though they were common goods rather than civilization destroying warheads. Gritting his teeth, the Pagoda Master heard and felt something crack but he hardly paid any attention.

"To claim these could kill a God… How naive. If you wanted war, you should have done it yourself." Pressing a hand to the warheads Luslec's expression changes for the first time, disdain glowing in his eyes. "If these are your ultimate weapon, I now declare that this world belongs to me. Should war be waged, I will destroy everything you hold dear."

The unending abyss of power that was Grace Mirchea Luslec… had sunk its fangs into this world.

Hey there, hope you liked the chapter.

Oh my, it seems like FUG now owns the world! Well, only partially at least. I'll probably go into soon enough but FUG won't be ruling the world, they'll just act as a sort of deterant for as long as they can keep the other world powers in check. Since they just dominated the Spirit Pagoda in battle, I'd say this tense period of peace will last a while.
