Chapter 16: Preparing For The Next Trip
Vexalia's POV.
Waking up from having passed out, first thing I saw is the entrance of the temple, "Woah! What the-!?" I exclaimed looking around to see what was going on and then I saw a mole guy.
"How many fingers am I holding up?" He asked holding two fingers in front of my face, "Two? What happened?" I questioned rubbing the back of my head, "You passed out in that water room! The thermal shock was crazy!" He explained, spreading his arms to give the idea.
As I pondered that information the mole man tossed a chunk of mural near me, "I found this near you, as a fellow treasure hunter I had to give it back, see ya!" He said before burrowing away.
Picking the mural up, I stumbled feeling a little woozy, "Back to the sky..." I muttered, trying to walk over to the statue outside the temple.
Sky.
Landing on my loftwing, I jumped just outside the Knight Academy wanting to go to sleep right now, and ignoring the people who looked worried at my wobbling stride, I entered my room and fell on the bed.
Later I woke up in the middle of the night and sat up hearing something outside the window, opening it I was greeted by the sight of a demon standing right there, "AA-" I was about to scream, but the demon put his hand on my mouth, shutting me up, "Please! Please! Don't make any noise!" The demon requested in the most worried and unthreatening voice ever.
The voice caught me so off guard that I calmed down almost instantly, "What." I let out in sheer confusion, "Yes, I know it must be unusual to meet what most people consider the spawn of evil, which is admittedly true for most other demons." The horned man conceeded while looking to the side.
"That's exactly why I was about to scream..." I informed with a now more bothered look on my face since I was waken up, "But that's just not me! I would like to get out in the middle of the day and hang out with everyone else!" The demon explained.
Hearing that made me scratch my head slightly, "Hold on now, first off, my name is Vexalia." I introduced myself, "R-right! My name is Batreaux." He introduced himself, to which I then continued, "Okay, so why are you here Batreaux?" I questioned, "Well... This friend of mine, Kukiel, told me that you've been going all over the place." He explained.
Thinking back, I have been running all around Skyloft, flying all over the map of the sky and probably all over the surface, so I nodded in response to the point he made, "That made me think that you could probably assist me in turning me to human!" He brought up with a smile of sharp teeth, "That's a leap in logic right there." I responded wide eyed.
"To make a summary, during your travels, could you collect these things called Gratitude Crystals?" Batreaux requested, "According to monstyer legend, they are capable of turning demons into humans." He elaborated, thinking it might make sense, "Okay... But I got tons of stuff to do so it better be worth it." I pointed out, not wanting to interrupt the search for Zelda for no reason, "No worries! As a Demon I have quite the collection of artifacts and valuables! I can give some to you!" He reassured.
I gave a thumbs to that making Batreaux smile, "Thank you! I'll leave a note on how to find the Gratitude Crystals, so you can go back to bed now." He informed, prompting me to walk back to bed and not even lay in it that I fell asleep.
The Next Day.
Walking to the window, I found the note explaining that the crystals can be generated by someone feeling grateful or simply found around, "Alright." I say before walking out of my roomand bumping into Gaepora, "...Hi?" I greeted before looking at his face which was a mix of angry and worried, "Yesterday I was told that you came in the academy walking like a zombie AND without Zelda!" He brought up.
I sighed knowing I had no choice, but to tell him, "So... I found Zelda... But she couldn't come with..." I regretfully explained, "I see..." Gaepora said with a saddened look, "...What about the zombie walk then?" He asked sounding more confused than anything, "I almost died to thermal shock." I nonchalantly explained which made the headmaster make a face, "WHY ARE YOU SO CALM ABOUT THAT!?!?!?" He exclaimed outloud making some heads turn.
In The Bazar.
"I'm telling you it's not necessary!" I insisted as Gaepora bought red potions and the best shield that was avaiable, "As if you didn't just say you almost died!" He shot back as he handed me the equipment.
That point made me sigh since I knew he was right to be worried, "Okay..." I relented as I took the stuff he was handing me, "So... I guess I should put the next piece of the thing in." I say pulling out the last tablet piece, "Are you playing puzzle?" Gaepora questioned, following me to the altar in the statue.
Groose's POV.
Looking at Vexalia and the Headmaster go to the statue for the fourth time now, I couldn't help, but wonder outloud, "What in the world are they doing?" I questioned Strich and Cawlin, "Vexalia has been bringing pieces of stones there." Cawlin pointed out, "Well that's dumb." I responded to that, wondering why rocks would be important.
Not the time to ponder that the statue let out a yellow light, and a third beacon shot out from the cloud barrier, "Another? That's the third in less than a week." Strich brought up as I saw Vexalia on her bird flying to the yellow beacon, "That's it! I wanna know what's going on! Next time I'm following her!!" I decided surprising the other two.
P.S. Sorry for my abscense for two weeks, but I've been on vacations and was planning to explain that when I got there, but connection sucked.
