I Was Sold to My Mortal Enemy (Double Transmigrations)

Chapter 62 - II

The following day, Pei Zhengchen dispatched Zhao Hong to Biluo Island to transport food, while he personally led a small team to Wuyou Island. On this island, Pei Xing and Shi Yi enjoyed a luxurious life with an abundance of oil, salt, and various other condiments sourced from the mountain.

Shi Yi adopted a different approach to cooking the hundreds of kilograms of fish they had caught a few days earlier. With nothing else to occupy their time, they set up a grinding mill to process wheat and rice flour and ground tea seed powder. They even attempted to make soap using the newly acquired oil.

When the snowfall ceased, Pei Xing took Shi Yi into the mountains for pheasant hunting. Winter animals in the mountains were more aggressive than in the summer. One day, they stumbled upon a small group of wild boars, approximately eight of them.

The wild boars charged towards them, prompting Pei Xing to protect Shi Yi, standing as a barrier between them and the charging boars. Pei Xing’s swift and deadly strikes swiftly took down the group of wild boars, but three large tigers suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

The tigers circled them, mouths dripping with blood and releasing thunderous roars. Shi Yi felt the blood-scented breath wash over his face, turning his face pale with fear. Pei Xing swiftly shifted his machete to a blade, gripping it tightly.

He lunged at the three tigers with remarkable speed, his eyes sharp. He struck down one of the tigers, its head shattered. However, the other two tigers were now agitated. Pei Xing leaped away from their reach, landing a blow on the smaller of the two. The last tiger, the most robust, lunged at them. Pei Xing leaped up, landing on the tiger’s head, and delivered a powerful downward strike, cleaving the beast in two.

Afterward, Pei Xing retrieved Shi Yi, comforting him as he processed the wild boars and tigers. Though the entire endeavor was physically taxing, Shi Yi could offer little assistance.

These hunting resulted with enough meat to last for several days. They processed the tigers meticulously, as they held valuable treasures, with every part having a use. They even fashioned a blanket from three sewn-together tiger skins.

Pei Xing spent four days processing the wild boars. Given the relatively cool weather, there was no need to worry about spoilage. The wild boars had a strong odor, which required marination to mask it. They marinated the meat for various purposes, including making ham, bacon, and meatballs. The remnants were marinated repeatedly to remove any residual fishy scent, making them suitable for soups and stir-fries.

After over a week of labor, they started shelling the rice stored in the adjacent room, grinding some into rice flour and mixing it with sugar to steam into rice cakes. They also fried rice cakes in a small pot, making the most of their time.

At noon on a particular day, they mixed fish meat with rice flour and shaped them into meatballs. They simmered bone soup over high heat for three hours before adding the meatballs. In a small pot, they fried rice cakes to accompany the meal.

.

Pei Zhengchen, along with Shi Wu and a group of thirteen people, rowed at sea for over ten days and finally reached Wuyou Island. Their bodies were as cold as popsicles, their breath visible in the frigid air, and their fingers were stiff.

Upon arriving on the island, they were greeted by a mouthwatering aroma of local cuisine, tinged with the sweet scent of rice. Smoke billowed from the green brick house in the middle of the seven houses.

Everyone appeared stern but then cheered up. This island was rarely known to have outsiders suddenly intrude. Pei Zhengchen was startled and felt a little excitement, so he rushed over eagerly.

When the others saw their general hurrying over, they thought something was amiss and became alert. However, as they stood by the door, they heard a soft, pleasant voice from inside.

“Isn’t it delicious? It must be, I am an amazing cook.”

With such an innocent and charming voice, everyone thought he must be a beautiful person.

Pei Zhengchen was stunned when he heard this familiar voice, and his expression clearly showed his excitement.

“Well, baby, you’re the best.”

“Ah, don’t kiss me so hard, your face is oily.”

Oh, they were all single dog and hadn’t found a wife yet, only their general here with a wife. Everyone felt a bit frustrated.

Pei Zhengchen eagerly opened the door and exclaimed, “I knew you must be fine.”

The two people were leisurely enjoying meatball soup and fried rice cakes in the kitchen. They both turned their heads when they saw Pei Zhengchen, who was covered in ice. Shi Yi didn’t have a time to think, suddenly a figure flying inside with a happy expression, the man rushed over and picked him up, laughing and spinning him around a few times.

“Third brother, why are you here? Hahaha, I’m so happy!”

Shi Wu hugged Shi Yi and spun around in joy. The naive boy was only focused on his happiness and didn’t notice the dark expression on the other person in the kitchen. A cold, gloomy aura hung from the corner of his mouth, colder than the ice in the middle of this winter.
