I'm Really Not a Pokémon

Chapter 11: Viridian Forest Charmander on Night Watch, Charmander Was Stunned By the Fire Fist

Rope looked at the forest in front of him and listened to the insects and birds cries in his ears, a moment of bravado came over him.

It's been five years, do you know how I've spent the last five years!

Rope straightened his shoulders with a long breath and propped his backpack up a bit.

He strides into the dark and vast Viridian Forest to officially face his first adventure as a trainer.

Rope walked through the forest with the occasional call of Spearow and Pidgey in his ears.

Rope couldn't help but feel a little bit of hair on his neck as he walked along.

Madan, why didn't anyone tell me the forest was so scary?

One thing is for sure, the depths of the thickly wooded forest are not a sunny place, especially when there are a lot of animals, Noctowl and Hoothoot snoozing in the trees, Ekans swimming by his feet from time to time, and Rattata, who jumped up and bared its teeth at Rope when Rope stepped on its tail.

Grandma bear, and the so-called adventure is a real adventure.

Rope wiped a handful of sweat on his forehead and scanned around, seeing a number of Pokémon staring at him, each with a fierce look in their eyes.Rope now realized that the scenes in the anime are still mostly harmonized, and even the ones in the manga have been embellished. In the end, a real world, where there is no escape from the four words of the weak and the strong.

Along the way, he also saw scenes of Persian eating Raticate and Ekans eating Pidgey. There was even an Arbok ready to take Rope for lunch, and Rope felt subtle then.

So strange! How come Arbok like me? One or two of them want to eat me?

Then Rope hit it with a Fire Fist and burned it to death.

Rope looked at the silent Arbok on the ground and had mixed feelings. For the first time, he realized he was facing a world head on. A world that was real, that smelled of blood instead of warm blood everywhere.

Light and shadow, hot and cold. How could he have overlooked such a simple truth?

Rope smiled a little to himself. Then walked through the forest with more and more ease and comfort.

Rope wandered around the forest freely, he really didn't have much to do at the moment, Viridian Forest was huge, he didn't expect to finish it, he just wanted to find a suitable starter Pokémon, preferably a fire-type one, he felt that he should be the best at training Fire type Pokémon. However, due to the influence of Cynthia, Red, and Blue, he would not be able to accept a single-attribute Pokémon.

The initial Pokémon should be Fire-type.

Blue said that there were Charmander and even Growlithe in Viridian Forest.

Otherwise, just go back and ask for one. At most, just lose face.

Rope shook his head to get rid of the one that had just popped into his head.

The humiliation was secondary to the fact that Rope really didn't like the act of distributing the initial Pokémon, like an arranged marriage. The teens have to distribute because they don't have the ability to take in Pokémon themselves. After all, you can't expect everyone to be able to physically fight a Pokémon.

But after the past few days, Rope realized that most of the Pokémon in the forest were no match for him. Even when he encountered a Nido family, Rope took on the combination of Nidoking and Nidoqueen all by himself. It was a divine valor.

If it wasn't for the fact that regular battles don't allow trainers to be on the field themselves, he would have beaten Indigo Plateau Conference without using Pokémon.

That's why it's absolutely impossible to throw away one's strengths when one is able to subdue a Pokémon on one's own. An agreeable Pokémon was the most important thing in his opinion.

He set up his tent, built a campfire, made a delicious curry and rice, ate it, and got ready for bed.

He had brought this campsite with him for three nights, and at first there were Pokémon attacking, then after the trees around him had been burned down there were no more Pokémon to attack at night. He was quite happy to be free.

The pots and pans were sitting casually on the ground with half a pot of curry in them, a bit of fishing. But after a few days of nothing, Rope didn't really expect any Pokémon to take the bait.

Late at night, the bright moon illuminated the campground quite brightly, and from time to time the sound of Pokémon chirping around the area, Rope slept soundly in his tent, but did not lose his vigilance. So when a pot rattled outside, his eyes snapped open.

He peered out through a slit in the tent he'd made a point of cutting to find an orange Pokémon with a ball of flame on its tail slamming into a pot filled with curry and rice. It looked like it hadn't eaten in three days.

Rope's movements were stealthy and not because of Charmander's attention, and it quickly devoured the curry and rice. It stuck out its tongue and licked its mouth, then looked around and saw Rope's tent and Rope's shadow lying in it.

With a rather cold face, Charmander walked towards Rope's tent.

Getting closer and closer, it heard Rope's light snoring and the corner of its mouth lifted into a sneer.

What an ignorant human, to dare to be so slack in the forest.

Then... it sat down by Rope's tent, looking around warily.

Since I ate your food, let me keep watch for you. I'm not that cowardly human, and I will never apologize to someone who has been kind to me.

Charmander thought so while keeping watch for Rope.

What it didn't know was that Rope was watching his every move, and as soon as it dared to make a move, a Fire Fist would be glued to his head. Showing it why charcoal is so black.

And as he watched Charmander sit down and take up his vigil, Rope froze, then couldn't help but be pleased.

This was the character he wanted.

It would still have to be watched to see how it would react to a strong enemy and how it would behave. Rope wasn't worried about this Charmander's talent either. Rope could see that there was a rule other than wildness in that Charmander. Such rules were usually left over from being trained as an initial Pokémon. It was thought that this Charmander had once been an Initial Pokémon.

I just don't know if it abandoned its trainer or the trainer abandoned it.

Rope pretended to snore in his tent, then thought that it would be best to hurry up and have a powerful Pokémon break into the camp now, so that he could see how good this Charmander was, and so that Charmander could see how good he was as a trainer.

Rather sadly nothing happened all night, except that Charmander the guy was really sleepy and only kept watch all night, and in the early hours of the morning it just couldn't hold back and still fell asleep. It is not to blame it, looking for a day in the forest, finally found the first meal, after eating a full body of fatigue are surging up, it can guard the night, is already quite good!

In the morning, Charmander was awakened by a strong aroma. It opened its eyes drowsily, and then violently realized that it had fallen asleep, it clenched its teeth in anger, damn it, I'm so weak that I can't even guard it for a night!

"Yo, awake?"

The human's voice was a weak one at first listen.

"Come eat something."

Just kidding, I, Charmander, will never eat food from you weak humans.

"It's freshly cooked curry rice oh. "

Is...is it the same kind of deliciousness from last night...

"Woo~" (It smells so good!)

Rope looked at Charmander who was eating over there with his bowl, a smug smile appeared on his face, just kidding, of course it really smells good, Charizard level curry rice, it took him a long time to learn his craft.

"Hey Charmander, be my partner." Rope said to Charmander with a smile.

Charmander glanced at Rope's gentle smile and gave a smile that was three parts sneer, three parts cool, and four parts rambunctious.

Rope looked at it and for a moment wondered where the fan chart came from.

"Hey, Charmander, be my buddy."

"Woo~" (No, I refuse, you don't have any other lines well.)

Before Charmander's words left his mouth, he felt a heat wave sweep past his head. Even a Fire Pokémon feels like roasting a human, ah no, roasting a dragon.

Where, where, where did the Charizard come from?

Charmander's young mind endured a great shock.

It glanced at Rope's gentle smile, then glanced at Rope's flame-burning hand, and then turned its head to look at the large flame-burning pit. Its eyes froze, and it unconsciously swallowed the curry rice in its mouth.

"Hey, Charmander, be my partner."

Rope's tone was still ecstatic.

I'll take it, Charmander thought to himself, after all, this guy is so "enthusiastic".
