I'm Really Not a Pokémon

Chapter 12: Flame-Flame Fruit’s Process Has Hope, Charmander’s First Battle

Rope squeezes the luxurious ball in his hand with a smug grin on his face. Inside the ball lives Charmander.

He tried to take Charmander in, but Charmander was a little reluctant, so the guy went for it.

Charmander was knocked unconscious by him and then directly he mounted the ball. Sensei doesn't care if the melon is sweet or not. At least this melon is there, not sweet but thirst quenching, right?

This is actually what most trainers do. The good thing was that Pokémon also had a strong side in their nature, and Rope felt that if this was not the case, I'm afraid that humans and Pokémon would have been at loggerheads long ago.

The history of the coexistence of humans and Pokémon is nowhere to be found, and Rope has studied the legends of Pokémon for so many years, but he has not been able to find out the so-called root cause. But it's also true that Rope is now incapable of exploring this. There was no reasoning with a small fist. He could guarantee that he wouldn't die when facing a Legendary Pokémon, but often he couldn't beat them either...

Rope was a little speechless at the thought, after all, to say this plugin was strong, didn't see where it was strong, and to say it was weak really wasn't that weak.

With that said, Rope snapped his fingers and rubbed a flame on his finger, and then... his bangs were almost set on fire.

Rope hurriedly turned all of his hair into flames so it wouldn't burn.

He looked a bit dumbfounded at the cluster of embers, no, a flame, at his fingertips.

No, according to the previous situation, he could only hit a flame that could light a cigarette, but why was it a flame that could burn his hair?

Rope wasn't stupid, his first thought was that he had taken in a Pokémon.

He had also used his ability to light a bonfire yesterday evening, where the ability was still normal, and the changes from before then, such as a relaxed state of mind, were instantly ruled out. That being the case then the biggest change in him from that time until now was the taking in of a Pokémon. or rather, having a Pokémon of his own.

And then the flame ability got stronger.

He grinned, he didn't know how this worked, good things were good naturally, but something like of it, not knowing why was two words for Rope.

Hard...

He looked at the Pokéball in his hand, then silently put it away. Then he raised one hand to the sky and pushed his ability as hard as he could.

Flames danced in the air, lighting up the gloomy forest, and the fireball in Rope's hand was tossing and swelling, like a beast that was born, greedily peering at everything around it, as if it was always ready to turn this forest into sustenance for its own expansion.

Rope looked at the flames that were as big as tree crowns, the flames had already ignited the surrounding trees, but they did not expand outwards under the constraints of his power, but in Rope's perception, these flames were like wild horses that were about to break free, ready to break free from his control and tear apart everything in front of him.

Sweating at the corners of his forehead, Rope threw the fireball up into the air with all his might, and then maneuvered it to explode.

Bang!!!!

The loud explosion, wrapped in a scorching wave of heat, rushed through the forest, and wherever it passed, the grass and trees curled up.

Rope couldn't help but let out a "tsk" as he watched the scene.

This power is no worse than the power of Blue's Charizard's Fire Blast.

It's really going in the direction of a Fire-type Legendary, isn't it?

Rope himself is also aware that he has not yet adapted to the sudden and drastic increase in his abilities, and that the feeling of being out of control is due to adapting to the Fire Blast, and that he will be fine after a little bit of exercise.

Rope nodded in satisfaction, though his current ability wasn't quite as powerful as Ace's ability to cover half the island, let alone permanently alter the environment like Kazun Sakazuki's, it was a drastic improvement over the two basketball-sized fireballs he used to have.

In that sense, Pokémon was even less important to him...

Rope shook his head to shake the thought out of his head, as of right now, the one way that the ability could, could be determined was to take in Pokémon, but there were many more that were uncertain as well, and could only be tested slowly later.

Rope pulled out Charmander's Pokéball again and looked at it with a smile, double happiness, he was happy now.

Looking at the sky through the large hole that had just burned out overhead, the sun was high in the dome.

Rope squinted, seeing that it was the point of the noon meal.

He let Charmander out. Charmander looked at him with an unhappy face, as if the words "You sneak attack, you have no moral integrity!" were written on his face.

Seeing this, Rope smiled, clasped his hands over his chest, and asked, "What, you're not convinced?"

"Woo!" (Of course, not convinced!)

Rope laughed and hooked a finger at it.

"Come over here!"

Charmander flinched, not tightly asking himself, "Will this guy be my master from now on? Not soft, but why so bitchy."

But it didn't think too much about it, a fight was a fight, and those with distractions would lose!

So with a whimper he spat out thick black smoke from his mouth. The figures of a man and a dragon were enveloped in black smoke.

Rope nodded, expressing his appreciation to Charmander for using his smoke screen skill first to take good cover.

Indeed, he had a few brains and knew to utilize his advantages in smell and vision.

But Rope still had no intention of moving. Just kidding, the current Charmander was a little weaker than the Arbok he encountered when he first crossed over, so what was there to be afraid of.

Rope felt a crack of wind at the back of his neck.

Charmander's hand glowed white and a grab went towards the back of Rope's neck. The corner of its mouth lifted in an arc.

It let out a low grunt as it watched its claws approach the back of Rope's neck.

It got it!

However, in the next instant, its eyes widened as its claw went through the back of Rope's neck. It didn't feel like it hit a physical object at all.

Not good, it was fooled!

Charmander's reaction was quick, but in order to subdue Rope without giving him too much damage, it chose the back of its neck, but Rope was too much taller than it, so he was jumping up to hit in the air, and now there was no way to circumvent Rope's attack.

The next moment Charmander felt a pain in his abdomen and flew backwards.

He was punched by Rope and knocked out of the smoke screen's range.

"Lesson number one, don't take to the air when it's not a must kill and you don't have the ability to fly. You see Groudon hit Kyogre without jumping right? Be realistic if you can't fly."

(Groudon: Get up and talking!!!)

Rope's voice with a smirk comes through the smoke screen.

Rope slowly walks over in the direction Charmander flew out and within two steps is out of the smoke screen.

Still the scene in front of him surprised him quite a bit, Charmander had actually climbed up a very tall tree, it stood on a branch and looked down at Rope. Rope saw a red fist print on its cream colored stomach.

He frowned, wondering what Charmander was trying to do standing so high.

Then he saw the purple energy that lit up Charmander's body.

He instantly understood what Charmander meant by this.

Charmander did his best to mobilize the dragon energy on his body, and then unleashed his inherited skill, and with a vigorous leap, he swooped down from the air towards Rope.

Rope's face lifted up in an arc of excitement that was hard to suppress. His body was transformed into a flame that floated in all directions.

Charmander's Dragon Rush also hit empty space. Rope's figure coalesced on the other side, looking at the unconscious Charmander at the bottom of the pit, revealing a "found a treasure" smile.
