Chapter 9: Maybe You Will Gain Something Else After You Stop Struggling
Aaron looked at Rope, who was crouched in the corner of the Space-Time Tower with his whole body painted in gray, and asked Cynthia, rather puzzled, "Who is this guy? What's going on?"
He and Flint had just arrived here from the Sinnoh Alliance's headquarters when they heard others say that Cynthia had already solved the matter, and that Alamos Town was safe and sound without a single death or injury.
Aaron and Flint breathed a sigh of relief and wondered if the situation wasn't particularly critical. But when they entered the town, they were shocked to hear from Alice and Tonio that the incident involved the Space-Time Twins, and Aaron didn't leave Flint behind when he found out that Cynthia was still at the Space-Time Tower, intending to find out the reason for the incident.
Flint looked at Aaron, who ran away without saying hello, and was helpless.
He also wanted to lay around...
Cynthia looked at the disoriented Rope, the corners of her mouth couldn't help but rise slightly as she said, "That's Rope, a researcher from the Kanto region, we've been attending the Pokémon Research Summit in Jubilife City before, and this incident was also something he helped resolve."
Cynthia had sort of sorted out the matter after Rope and Palkia had spoken to each other. She sympathized with Rope's luck, but she couldn't help but laugh; in the end, it was human instinct to gloat.
After all, Rope was only depressed at the moment, and didn't seem to be desperate to break down. So Cynthia did not purposely try to comfort him, she could see that Rope was afraid that he had anticipated this situation and was psychologically prepared for it, and that his low mood at this moment was just a chagrin for his own death.
Cynthia said and told Aaron what happened.
"The Twin Gods of Time and Space are in the Time Rift..."
"Mhm."
"They came here after Darkrai..."
"Mhm, mhm."
"After Rope and I got here..."
"Mhm, mhm, mhm."
Aaron nodded frequently after the speech. He was gloating over the fact that Flint was busy keeping track of the various losses while he was groping the fish. But before he could be happy for a while, Cynthia looked at him suspiciously and asked, "Aren't you going to record it? There's a report to write up later."
Aaron: "Eh... eh?"
Aaron looks at Cynthia suspiciously and points a finger at the tip of his nose, "I'll write the report?"
Cynthia nodded, then asked, "What's the problem?"
"But you're the one who solved it?" Aaron felt like he was groping for someone else's job.
Cynthia nodded, but said, "But I'm handling this as a Mythic Researcher and enthusiastic trainer. I'm still on vacation."
Aaron was dumbfounded...
If you want to say there's a problem, that's not a wrong thing to say, after all, there's nothing wrong with a champion on vacation wanting to not use their status as a champion, it's just that they don't want the credit for this one, but Cynthia's already a champion, so what's the point of her wanting this credit? But why was this job assigned to Aaron?
Aaron opened his mouth to say something, but felt like his thousand words were in his throat, and he couldn't say anything for a while.
Cynthia smiled and patted Aaron's shoulder, signaling him to cheer up, then she turned around and walked to the corner, pulling up the puppet-like Rope and heading towards Charizard's side. Charizard's Pokéball was in Rope's hand, and Rope didn't return to his senses from the blow, so naturally he didn't retrieve it. Cynthia pulled Rope and sat onto Charizard's back, then smiled and waved at Aaron.
"Charizard fly towards the northeast, let's go to Celestic Town."
With those words, Charizard's wings swung and soon he was in the sky, heading northeast. "
Aaron faced the direction where Cynthia left, his eyes were lifeless, and his right hand grasped vainly, quite similar to Rope's face before.
"Why am I so unlucky!!!"
————————————
The evening in Celestic Town was exceptionally quiet, with only the sound of Kricketune's singing and the wind blowing in the forest ringing out from time to time, decorating Celestic Town with the colors of gentleness, peace, and vitality.
Rope was lying on the lawn of Cynthia's house with his hands behind his head, looking at the deep starry sky and the twinkling stars, his mind was a jumble of thoughts. But he didn't want to organize it. The soft lawn smelled of fresh grass, and with the sounds of nature, it was quite soothing.
Cynthia in the room looked through the floor-to-ceiling window at Rope, who was lying on the lawn in a daze, and smiled slightly.
She already knew that Rope's purpose of coming to Sinnoh was to find the Gods of Time and Space and find a way home. He probably went to Eterna City because there were statues of the Gods of Time and Space there, thinking there might be some clues. But now it seems that Rope will not want to meet the Gods of Time and Space for a while. Because Celestic Town is right next to Eterna City, Cynthia simply took Rope back home. First, if Rope wants to go to Eterna City again, he can leave nearby. Second, Cynthia's home is here. Although there are many houses, there is only one home. In Cynthia's heart, this is the most soothing place.
As for her own safety...
Since when did Cynthia have to think about her own safety...
Not to mention what strength this Rope guy has that would make Cynthia worry about her safety...
"Luca. (Warm milk is ready.)"
Lucario came out from the inner room with a glass of warmed moo-moo milk and handed it to Cynthia.
Cynthia smiled as she finished the milk and said, "Thank you, Lucario."
Lucario nodded then turned again and walked into the back room.
Cynthia got up holding the milk and opened the door towards Rope.
And at that moment several heads behind Cynthia poked out from the wall and watched as Cynthia sat down beside Rope.
"Khaw! (Why do you think master cares so much about that male human?)"
Garchomp couldn't help but call out as he watched the scene over there.
Lucario gave it a blank look.
"Lucca! (If you, who followed them out, don't know, how can we, who are at home, know?)"
——————————
Rope looked at the glass of milk that was dangling in front of his eyes and smiled, taking it then sitting up towards Cynthia with a smile, "Thanks."
Cynthia shook her head signaling that he was welcome. Then with a crooked smile she asked, "You figured it out?"
Rope took a sip of milk, feeling extraordinarily sweet, better than the jug's tree fruit juice, hearing Cynthia's words, he let out a bitter smile, then said, "There's nothing I can do if I can't see it through, if Palkia and Dialga can't help me go back, I'll have to count on Arceus, but if the Twin Gods of Space and Time can't do it, Arceus will definitely be able to?"
He gazed up at the sky and raised an eyebrow, "Perhaps I should indeed give up. . it's been five years, ten months, and twenty-one days, and my parents probably think I'm dead."
Rope glanced at Cynthia, who was about to say something, and smiled, "If you have any questions, just ask, I know everything."
Cynthia smiled shyly and said, "It's nothing, but at first I thought you were some kind of legendary Pokémon that could turn into a human."
Rope said with a serious look on his face, "You found that out, yes, I'm actually a Victini, and what you're seeing now is my human body constructed with my physic powers. The flame is my own ability."
With a look of realization, Cynthia clenched her right hand into a fist and smashed the palm of her left hand, "Right oh, that explains it."
The two of them looked at each other and neither of them could hold back a laugh.
"I (you) am not Pokémon. Hahaha..."
Rope had laughed enough, stopped, and asked Cynthia, "Did you bring your cell phone? Give it to me to use."
Cynthia took out her cell phone, turned it on, and handed it to Rope, who turned on the dialer and then dialed a string of numbers.
Soon Blue's voice came out of the receiver.
"What can I do for you?"
Rope smiled, "No need to get me news on Celebi."
Blue on the phone hesitated for a moment and said, "Okay, I know. I'll talk to Red as well."
"Thanks!"
"I'll hang up if it's okay."
"I'll be back soon."
"Eh."
The phone hung up, Blue looked at the green onion head-like Celebi that was lying asleep on a tree branch not far in front of him, and silently put away the Pokémon ball of Wind Speed Dog in his hand before turning around and leaving.
The lucky Celebi, still unaware that he had somehow escaped.
On the other hand, Rope, after hanging up the phone, drained the milk in one gulp and then handed the cell phone back to Cynthia while asking, "Where are the dishes, please?"
Cynthia took the cell phone and then reached for another cup saying, "I'll do it."
Rope shook his head and said, "No, I've added enough trouble today and I'm going to have to hassle you over here tonight, so I'll just do the dishes myself."
"Ugh~ Who told you you were sleeping inside tonight?"
"Wow, Cabbage, you're so cruel, letting me spend the night outside in the cold?"
"Can't you? And don't call me Cabbage!"
"Cabbage Cabbage Cabbage..."
The Pokémon who were in the house watching the duo laughing and joking had mixed feelings for a while.
"Khaw..." (Master, grew up...)
