Lord: Sequence Master

Chapter 103: Crushing Sequence 6

"Alchemical golems... proficient in lightning, space, gravity, and metal abilities..." Rosen summarized his observations of the battle.

Besides its powerful offensive techniques, the alchemical golem had formidable energy resistance and a protective barrier. Meanwhile, the mysterious ceramic pot appeared much stronger, but its blood control was ineffective against the golem. As a result, it relied on a corrosive poison to inflict damage, leaving the golem with the upper hand throughout the fight.

After an hour of battle, the alchemical golem retreated voluntarily, its spiritual energy clearly running low. In contrast, the mysterious ceramic pot had been on the defensive the entire time and remained unscathed.

As the alchemical golem returned, it once again sensed the familiar spiritual provocation—Rosen's bait. However, this time it hesitated. Mechanical spirit weapons lacked intelligence but operated on basic instincts. The golem had battled the ceramic pot for years to suppress its growth. Now, with a human revealing themselves during this moment of weakness, the golem assumed that Rosen intended to exploit the situation.

After a brief pause, the golem resumed its pursuit of the spiritual bait, but Rosen realized it still had a hidden trump card.

The Glorious Lighthouse had a base attack range of 3,000 meters—not ideal for long-range battles. At Rosen's speed, he could reach the tower in under 10 seconds, and the alchemical golem was even faster.

However, the lighthouse's light magic dealt persistent and sustained damage, making up for its short range. The golem entered the lighthouse's 3,000-meter attack radius, triggering a Glorious Beam.

A ten-meter-wide beam of light shot out, giving the golem no time to evade. This was a true light-speed attack, meaning it was nearly impossible to dodge unless the golem had predicted the attack beforehand. However, since Rosen had cloaked the lighthouse in shadow using Shadow Step, the attack struck without warning.

Caught off guard, the alchemical golem was forced to withstand the full force of the beam. The high-temperature light elements relentlessly eroded its protective energy barrier.

If the attack continued, the already spiritually drained golem would be melted by the intense heat.

Just as the energy barrier began to collapse, the golem's spiritual energy replenished instantly, restoring it to full strength. Its eyes shifted from blue to red, and the barrier expanded to a ten-meter radius, dispersing the beam into a shower of light.

The alchemical golem then teleported directly to the base of the Glorious Lighthouse, but left behind its energy belt in the process. While space manipulation was powerful, it wasn't infallible. The intense pressure from the Glorious Beam interfered with the golem's spatial ability, forcing it to abandon the overworked energy belt.

Now at the base of the lighthouse, the golem prepared to unleash a plasma cannon from one arm and an electromagnetic pulse from the other.

But the energy blasts were deflected by the Glorious Barrier, a defensive spell cast by the lighthouse. Meanwhile, the Glorious Beam recharged and attempted to lock onto the golem once more, but the golem, anticipating the attack this time, dodged preemptively.

Rosen quickly changed tactics, commanding the lighthouse to switch to Glorious Flare, a wide-area light attack. The area within a 1,000-meter radius was suddenly engulfed in a blinding radiance, turning the lighthouse into a miniature sun.

The surrounding temperature soared as plants turned to ash, and the ground fused into glass.

With no energy belt to shield it, the alchemical golem's metallic body began to melt under the immense heat. Despite its durable construction, the golem couldn't withstand the onslaught for long.

However, knowing that the ceramic pot still posed a threat, the golem assessed the situation and chose to retreat.

It was too late.

The Elemental Barrier of the Alchemical Castle had expanded to cover a 1,700-meter radius, trapping the golem within the confines of Rosen's divine domain.

Forced to fight, the golem shifted its focus to the Alchemical Castle.

At this moment, the Nightmare Slime moved to intercept the golem. The golem fired its electromagnetic pulse, which nearly pierced through the psychic aura surrounding the slime, leaving a gaping wound. Despite this, the Nightmare Slime began to rapidly regenerate its injuries.

Slimes were notoriously difficult to kill—so long as their mass remained intact and their life force wasn't depleted, they could reform even from severe damage.

However, the Nightmare Slime wasn't just a tank. It counterattacked by launching a black energy ball from its mouth.

The energy ball, infused with high-speed spinning spiritual energy and the slime's stomach acid, drilled a hole through the golem.

Ordinarily, the attack would have left only a dent, but the Nightmare Slime's acid added a new dimension to the attack. The slime's digestive abilities, tied to its Devour talent, were potent enough to dissolve Sequence 4 extraordinary materials. The Sequence 6 metal alloy that made up the golem's body stood no chance.

Critically damaged, the alchemical golem found itself unable to fend off the Nightmare Slime's relentless assault.

Meanwhile, the Glorious Lighthouse unleashed another Glorious Beam, locking onto the golem and delivering the final blow.

With its defenses depleted and its body severely damaged by the Nightmare Slime's acidic energy ball, the Sequence 6 mechanical spirit finally collapsed at the Alchemical Castle's gates after two hours of intense combat.
