Pokémon: Day Bringer

Chapter 28: Olivine city

The Squad of Will 4.5 of Haru, Jessy, James, Casey and Meowth had finally arrived to Olivine City for Haru next gym badge, as surprisingly to all of them noting eventful happed.

Casey just looked aeound. "You know, why is this so peaceful"

Haru just srugged. "Who knows, it is like today the Universe decided we will have a good day".

Meanwhile for Ash and friend they were once again ropped, into a side quest for 43th time, right after Ash had defeated Morty.

Haru then went to Jasmine Gym, only find it close then he went to the light only to find out Ampharous was sick, again.

Haru looked at Jasmine. "Again, again, this happen 6 years ago Jasmine".

Jasmine just sigehd and looked at Haru. "Yes again".

Haru then pulled out w mediation from his back. "Luckily I still have this from 6 years ago"

Casey just looked at the Medication. "Won't it have expired".

Haru next the day. "No that is Next year"

Jasmine looked at the medication Haru handed her, her face lighting up with relief. "Oh, thank you, Haru. This will save me the trouble of sending someone to fetch the medicine."

Haru just waved it off. "No big deal. I had a feeling something like this would happen again, so I came prepared."

Jasmine turned to take care of Ampharos, leaving Haru and his squad standing near the lighthouse. Casey watched with curiosity as Jasmine gently administered the medication to the sick Pokémon.

Casey spoke up. "You knew this was going to happen? Are you some kind of Pokémon psychic or something?"

Haru laughed. "No, Casey. It's just that some things never change. Ampharos getting sick seems to be one of those things."

Jessie crossed her arms. "Well, as much as I hate to admit it, this is a pretty good deed for a self-proclaimed 'Prodigy of Johto.'"

James nodded. "Not bad at all. But... why do I feel like something's about to ruin this peaceful day?"

Just then, a loud crash was heard outside the lighthouse. Haru and the group rushed out to see a group of Team Rocket grunts trying to steal a flock of Wingull and Pelipper that had been resting near the harbor.

Haru sighed. "And there it is. The universe couldn't let us have one uneventful day, could it?"

Jessie and James looked at each other. "Not our team this time," Jessie clarified. "We're reformed... mostly."

Haru stepped forward, pulling out a Poké Ball. "Alright, let's deal with this quickly. Go, Electivire!"

Electivire emerged with a roar, sparks flying as it prepared for battle. Haru looked at Casey. "You want to help me clean up this mess?"

Casey smirked, pulling out her own Poké Ball. "You bet! Let's go, Meganium!"

With Haru and Casey teaming up, it didn't take long to overpower the grunts. A combination of Electivire's Thunderbolt and Meganium Razor Leaf sent the grunts fleeing with their tails between their legs.

Jasmine appeared outside, looking relieved. "Thank you, Haru. You've helped both Ampharos and the city today."

Haru shrugged. "Just doing what I do best. Now, about that gym battle..."

Jasmine smiled. "I'll meet you at the gym tomorrow. For now, I need to ensure Ampharos recovers fully."

Haru nodded. "Fair enough. Come on, squad, let's get some rest. Tomorrow, it's time to earn another badge."

As they walked off, Jessie muttered, "This 'good day' turned chaotic pretty fast."

James added, "That's life with Haru, I guess."

Casey grinned. "And I wouldn't have it any other way!"

Haru then wonder to him self. "Why were team rocket doing here in the first place".

Jessie srugged. "Knowing them probably stealing Pokémon".

Haru looked at them. "Didn't you say the current boss if Team Rocket Archer is looking for Giovanni, so why would he be after Pokémon, something just doesn't feel right".

Meanwhile in a different place the two grunt's made a sight of relief, as they looked at eachother.

The male grunt spoke to the female. "Good, they didn't capture us".

The felame grunt sighed. "Yeah, it is a good boss would have killed us, so do you have it".

The male grunt pulled out a collar with a red R on it, as they looked at eachother they sent out there Pokéball as they saw there Capture a Nidoking, it was ready to attack then they summoned the Pokémon and managed to but a coller on it as it's eyes turned red, a dark aura srounded it, and then it stopped attacking almost like it was being mind control.

The grunt looked at eachother. "Hell yeah, it worked booss is going to be so happy to hear this".

Back with Haru

Haru couldn't shake the uneasy feeling as they returned to the Pokémon Center. His thoughts lingered on the strange behavior of the Team Rocket grunts they had encountered earlier.

"Something isn't adding up," Haru muttered to himself. "Archer's focus has always been on finding Giovanni. Why would his grunts be sneaking around Olivine City stealing Pokémon? And why did they seem so... desperate?"

Jessie leaned back in her chair. "Maybe it's a side hustle to fund their operations. Or maybe Archer's running low on resources and needs to resort to old-school Team Rocket antics."

James shook his head. "I don't think it's that simple. Even when we worked under Giovanni, there was always a bigger plan behind every operation."

Meowth chimed in, scratching his head. "And if dese grunts are doin' somethin' shady, it's gotta be more than just swipin' Pokémon for cash."

Casey, sitting nearby, frowned. "If they're not stealing for profit, then what are they doing? Haru, do you think it's connected to that uneasy feeling you've had since we arrived here?"

Haru nodded. "It's possible. I can't help but think there's something bigger at play. We might be dealing with more than just random thefts."

Meanwhile, in a remote hideout, the two Team Rocket grunts reported back to their superior.

The male grunt handed over a data pad and the Nidoking they had captured earlier. "The prototype collar worked perfectly, sir. The Pokémon is fully under our control now."

The superior, a stern-looking man with a cold gaze, examined the data. "Good. With this technology, we'll have the power to control even the strongest of Pokémon. The boss's vision is coming to life."

The female grunt hesitated. "But sir, what if the League catches wind of this? They'll send their best trainers after us."

The superior smirked, placing a hand on the Nidoking's head. The dark aura around the Pokémon pulsed ominously. "Let them come. By the time they realize what's happening, it'll be too late. With this device, even the most powerful trainers will fall before us."

He turned to a monitor, displaying a map of Johto with several marked locations. "This is just the beginning. Soon, we'll have enough controlled Pokémon to launch a full-scale operation. And when the boss returns, he'll find Team Rocket stronger than ever."

The grunts exchanged nervous glances but nodded. "Yes, sir."

Back in Olivine City, Haru sat on the Pokémon Center's rooftop, gazing at the stars. He clutched the egg he had been entrusted with, feeling its faint warmth.

"Whatever Team Rocket's planning," he said to himself, "I have a feeling it's going to change everything. I just hope I can stop it before it's too late."

Late that night, Haru summoned all of his Pokémon out of the Pokeball, as he made sure to put the Pokémon egg somewhere safe, as he looked at his currently team, his team was in order of catch, Scizor, Marshtomp, Electivire, Meowth and Houndoom, as he looked at each them, he knew that the battle worth Jasmine will be a 4 on 4

Haru took a deep breath as he sat cross-legged on the ground, his team gathered around him in the moonlit clearing. He glanced at each Pokémon in turn, feeling a sense of pride and camaraderie. They had been through so much together, and now they were about to face another challenging Gym battle.

"Alright, team," Haru began, his tone serious but calm. "Tomorrow, we face Jasmine. She's a Steel-type Gym Leader, and her Pokémon aren't just strong—they're durable. This battle is going to test our strength, strategy, and teamwork."

Scizor stepped forward, clanging its pincers together as if to signal its readiness. Haru nodded. "Scizor, you'll be my lead. Your speed and Steel typing should give us an edge against her opening Pokémon. But stay alert; Steel-types are known for their tricky moves."

Marshtomp tilted its head, letting out a determined croak. "Marshtomp, you'll back up Scizor. Your Ground typing and moves like Mud Shot and Rock Slide will be crucial if things get tough."

Electivire flexed its arms, electricity crackling across its body. Haru smiled. "Electivire, you're our powerhouse. But remember, Jasmine's Pokémon are tough to crack. I'll need you to hit hard and fast when the moment's right."

Meowth, perched nearby, gave a cheeky grin and flicked its coin. Haru chuckled. "Meowth, I know you're not typically a battle Pokémon, but your speed and agility could be useful. Stay sharp and be ready to jump in if needed."

Finally, Houndoom let out a low growl, its fiery tail glowing softly in the dark. Haru nodded firmly. "Houndoom, you're our finisher. If Jasmine sends out her strongest Pokémon, I'll need you to bring the heat—literally. Flamethrower will be key, but we'll need to strategize against her defenses."

He stood and walked over to the Pokémon egg, gently patting its protective case. "And you," he said softly, "just stay safe. One day, you'll join this team, but for now, rest easy."

Haru turned back to his team. "This isn't just about winning a badge. It's about proving to ourselves how far we've come. Each of you has your strengths, and together, we're unstoppable."

The Pokémon let out cries of determination, their spirits lifted by Haru's words. As the night wore on, Haru spent time reviewing strategies, moves, and potential combinations with each member of his team, ensuring they were ready for anything Jasmine might throw at them.

By the time the first rays of dawn began to break, Haru and his team were prepared. This Gym battle wouldn't just be a challenge—it would be a statement.

Meowth then looked at Haru. "Um hey Boss, can I say that I would not like to battle".

Haru looked back at the talking Pokémon. "It is not like you haven't battle before".

Meowth just looked at him and spoke back, there was tick mark on his head. "Will duh, but does were wild Pokémon, you haven't used me in a Gym battle sense Bugsy, plus Houndoom is a fire type"

Haru sighed and crossed his arms as he looked at Meowth, who was now pacing back and forth. "Look, I get it, you're not thrilled about battling in a Gym match. But Meowth, you're part of this team, and I trust you just as much as everyone else. Sure, Houndoom has the type advantage, but this isn't just about typing—it's about strategy and teamwork."

Meowth stopped pacing and folded his arms, glaring at Haru. "Yeah, yeah, boss, I get that. But ya gotta admit, I ain't exactly built for takin' hits from Steel-types! And don't forget—Jasmine's got some heavy hitters."

Haru crouched down to Meowth's level and smiled. "I'm not saying you'll be out there alone. If I call on you, it's because I believe you have something unique to bring to the battle. Your agility, your cleverness—you're not just a fighter, Meowth, you're a tactician."

Meowth blinked, clearly caught off guard by the compliment. "Ya mean that, boss?"

Haru nodded firmly. "Of course. You've helped me out in plenty of tight spots, and I know you can handle yourself. Plus, having a wildcard like you might just throw Jasmine off her game. Trust me, I won't put you in harm's way unless I know you can handle it."

Meowth scratched the back of his head, his pride visibly boosted by Haru's words. "Alright, alright, ya convinced me. But don't expect me to take a Heavy Slam to the face or somethin', got it?"

Haru laughed and patted Meowth on the shoulder. "Deal. Just be ready when I need you."

The rest of the team watched the exchange with amused expressions, Scizor letting out a metallic chuckle while Houndoom gave an approving growl. Marshtomp even gave Meowth an encouraging thumbs-up with its fin.

Meowth rolled his eyes but smirked. "Fine, fine, I'll give it my all. Just remember, boss—ya owe me a big bowl of poke chow after this!"

"Deal," Haru said with a grin. "Now let's get some rest. Tomorrow, we take on Jasmine and her Steel fortress."
