Pokemon The Mirage Of Illusions

Chapter 49: First Gym Battle!

As Amelia returns Jarl to their Pokeball she looks down to me. "Well that was a fail...What do you think? I could've played that better. I didn't realize that she kept using Calm Mind and that led to Jarl getting caught by a psychic that was way to powerful to resist.."

Nodding along I put a paw on her pants leg and point over towards Whitney's direction, whose looking very distressed. "Was that too hard? I'm sorry! We can do a normal Gym battle!" Whitney shouted over in a worried voice in response to Amelia's slightly downcast face.

"No! We've got this! We're coming for that elite badge!" Amelia in response yells in a upbeat voice that puts a smile back on Whitney's face. "Alright then! As regulation I'll keep Girafarig in while you still have one substitution!"

Amelia once again looks to me and this time she bends down and pets my head. "Are you ready?"

'...Why not? What's the worst that could happen?' Nodding at Amelia she sends me out and Whitney starts to count down for the second battle.

[POV Pibu]

"That was rough.."

Gold is currently watching the first battle between Amelia and Whitney that quickly ended in Whitney's favor. "Who do you think will win? From the first round Amelia might not be ready for it. Plus I'm pretty sure Jarl was her strongest Pokemon.."

"Pi, Pichu. (It doesn't matter once Kage comes in she'll win.)"

Gold turns to me with a eyebrow raised. "Really? You think Amelia will win? I mean her Crobat's pretty strong but it's weak to Girafarig and with it's Calm Mind boost it'll put it down in one shot! Maybe she could take down Girafarig but no way she takes down the rest of her Pokemon!"

Turning away from Gold I puff out my cheeks. "Pii, Pichu! (If your not gonna listen to me than don't ask for my opinion!)"

Out of the corner of my eye I see Gold with a confused look on his face before shaking his head and looking back towards the arena. "Oh, Kage's going next."

'What!?' Turning back quickly I look to see Kage against the same Girafarig while Whitney starts her count down. 'Why! The strongest should always go last!!! I wanted to see a reverse sweep from a 1v3!'

5 minutes later.

"Pichu!! (I knew it!!!)"

[Battle Start!]

As Kage is sent out they run into the battlefield ending up only a few feet away from the much larger Girafarig. "Gir. (Why did they send you out? Your nowhere near strong enough to be here.)"

Girafarig instead of moving or or readying itself they speak towards the Eevee with confusion in their voice. "Eee, Eevee! vee. (Why did they send me? Well, I didn't want to say this to your face but, your not that strong. And to be honest you'd be good practice for the other Gym Leader's we have to face. Sooo no hard feelings but I kinda gotta beat you up.)"

At the Eevee's declaration the Girafarig gains a hard twitch in the right side of the face and glares at the small Pokemon. "Farig..(I'm going to crush you..)"

"Vee. (Go ahead and try, After all...Your weak.)" The Eevee gains a seemingly sincere smile on their face as they speak to the Girafarig. And to the unaware trainer's the "Eevee" had just used the move Taunt.

Then the first two commands of the battle are issued. Amelia quickly shoats out to the smiling Eevee, while Whitney responds in a cherry tone the complete opposite of the Girafarig.

"Kage use Snarl! Then back up!" "Girafarig! Use Calm Mind!"

Both commands were issued at nearly the same time, but the Eevee was already moving well before the command was said, already halfway finished charging their Dark Type attack.

In contrast the Girafarig is completely caught off guard by their trainer's command and instead of charging Psychic Type energy it completely dissipates every time it's charged as they focus is clouded.

In another second the Eevee finishes charging and takes multiple steps towards the Girafarig and opens their mouth and lets out a nasty noise that rocks the Girafarig as the attack continues for multiple seconds.

Girafarig---[////////// ]

"Girafarig back up and use Psychic!" Whitney quickly reacts to the failed command and shifts her focus but the Girfarig doesn't have the same idea.

The Girafarig upon being injured while Taunted decides to take the aggressive route and moves forward directly through the attack leveraging it's increased Special Defense and the Eevee's comparatively lower power to put through.

"Kage! Back now! Then Ember!" Once again Amelia says a relatively reactive command but the Eevee takes a proactive approach against the larger Pokemon.

Moving forward the Eevee charges towards the Girafarig that surprises both trainers and the Girafarig to an extent. Then the Eevee closes their mouth and ends the Snarl attack and instead charges and releases a priority attack in Quick Attack.

Moving faster than anyone else was expecting the Eevee moves around the large Girafarig to it's side and latches onto the side of the Girafarig.

"Shake it off! If you can't use Body Slam!" "That's fine use Poison Fang!"

Both human's quickly react to the Eevee's weird movements and shout commands that both Pokemon completely commit to as the Eevee bites down hard onto the Girafarig and pumps as much Poison energy into the large Pokemon, while said Pokemon starts to move violently attempting to throw the small Pokemon off.

Girafarig---[////// ]

Kage---[/////// ]

"Kage keep at it!" Even though Amelia commands the Eevee let's go and is tossed off the Girafarig's back. "It's off! Back up and use Twin Beams!"

Whitney reach's out to the Giraffe Pokemon but their command never reaches their ears as instead they charge in a Body Slam that the Eevee moves out of the way of using a Quick Attack, and using the Pokemon's newfound vulnerability they attack using a hastily made Ember.

Girafarig---[//// ]

"Girafarig! Back up!"

The command from Whitney finally reaches the Pokemon's ears as they attempt to back up only to be charged at once again by the Eevee using another Quick Attack and this time they lead into the momentum by jumping up and using a Scratch into the same side they had latched onto earlier.

As the Girafarig finally backs up and gains some distance their side becomes visible to both trainer's with multiple bloody scratches and a deep fang mark that doesn't fit a normal Eevee's teeth.

Girafarig---[/ ]

"We've got to end this use-" Whitney tries to issue another command but in the middle of their sentence the Girafarig crumples to the ground in a unconscious heap as the poison in their veins flow and futher damage the Pokemon.

Girafarig---[ K/O ]

--------------------------------------------------------[Battle End!]---------------------------------------------------------------------

{Heyo! This is the end of today's chapter! Hope ya'll like it but I've got a little explaination of how moves work! It's smaller than the other so it hopefully won't be too much...}

[Level-Up Moves: Moves can either be learn though means such as tutors, TM's or Evolution but Level-Up moves are naturally learn't by that Pokemon or Evolution line. They are naturally learn't moves that only require a certain amount of energy efficiency and skill to aquire. Usually wild Pokemon make up for the skill and energy efficiency through pure power automatically gained through Level-Up's. As such a completely average wild Pidgey learn the move Gust at level 9 but an above average wild Pidgey or human trained Pidgey can learn the move while being lower than level 9. This is also how Level-Up Evolutions work it takes the average level a wild Pokemon would need to evolve. (Lance Dragonite in the Games is a good example).]
