Refusing My God’s Advances

Chapter 56: I Hated Lying To Myself

"While I am fine with staying, I don't get why you girls keep running off?" I asked, and Shelli smiled at me.

"The girls and I are just getting more acquainted," Shelli explained and then smiled. "Since you plan to bed all of us, I think it would be good for us to all get to know each other better, right?"

I chuckled nervously, not expecting such a direct comment. "Well, I guess that makes sense... Still, it's weird to hear you talk about it so frankly with the other two standing there blushing like tomatoes."

Shelli looked back and nodded at the two blushing women who now refused to look at me. "Yes, well, I am sure once you give them the mark of love, they will feel more comfortable talking openly about it."

I just scratched my head.

"I appreciate your... enthusiasm," I said, trying to keep the awkwardness at bay. "But let's focus on the task at hand. We're here to build a new home, right?"

Shelli chuckled, seemingly undeterred by my attempt to change the topic. "Of course, Leon. We're here to build both, homes and relationships."

Ignoring her suggestive undertones, I decided to get back to the construction work. "Alright, fine, I give. Go on your bonding trip, but make sure to stay safe," I said, feeling weird saying it with Aria, who was even stronger than the level 502 Mary.

Thinking about it, that didn't really make sense since Daryle had said the human limit was 450. It must have something to do with her connection to Mary. Whatever it was, it was not my worry right now.

Once the three girls left, I turned to find Danielle standing awkwardly. While this was better than yelling, I preferred it when she was acting more confident.

"So, you said that you were going to show me your genius, right?" I asked and then pointed to the biggest open section of the meadow. "I think that is as good as any place to set the house and your lab up. Since you told me that you were going to take care of it, I am going to leave it to you."

"Aren't you worried about how I am going to build it?" She asked, but I shrugged.

"I mean, just don't make it stupid-looking and I will be fine with it. I think you should worry more about how the others will feel about it," I explained, and Danielle's face lit up.

"You mean like what my brother would want?" She asked hopefully, and I put my hand to my face with a deep sigh.

"No, not exactly what your brother would want," I clarified. "I meant the other girls. If you plan on staying here, you are going to have to get along with them, Aria included. I want you to think about what they might like. As for the demons, I think a single large room with bunks for about 50 people will be fine."

"What about your room then? Do you want a bunch of beds in it, or are all the girls going to just sleep with you in one bed?" Danielle asked, and I flinched back like she had hit me, but it was the realization of her words that caused the mental damage.

That was a very good question. I figured that giving them their own rooms would be best, but that was it. Would they really all want to sleep in one bed with me!? WHY HADN'T I THOUGHT ABOUT THIS BEFORE?!

I scratched my head nervously, trying to come up with a reasonable answer. "Um, well, I guess we can discuss that later. Let's focus on getting the house and lab set up for now. We can figure out the sleeping arrangements later."

Danielle seemed satisfied with my response, and she immediately got to work. She started drawing diagrams in the dirt, explaining her plans for the house and lab. As she spoke, I couldn't help but admire her passion for magic and technology. It was clear that she had a deep understanding of both, and I began to see why she was considered a genius.

I, of course, watched her the entire time, ignoring my printer. I couldn't help myself.

Danielle had an eye for design, and even the image that she drew in the dirt was intricately detailed. She spoke excitedly about incorporating magical elements into the structure, from self-repairing walls to enchanted lighting. The lab, she explained, would be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for her magical research.

As Danielle continued to share her plans, I couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for her talents. Despite her quirks and the complicated dynamics with her brother and Aria, it was clear that she had a genuine passion for her work.

"I must say, Danielle, you really know your stuff," I complimented her, genuinely impressed by her ideas.

She blushed slightly, seeming pleased with the acknowledgment. "Thank you, Leon. I've dedicated most of my life to studying magic and technology. It's my way of making a mark in the world. Not many people like me now, but in the future they will look back and wish they were nicer to me!"

"I can see that you're truly passionate about your work. And who knows, maybe this new home will be the start of a fresh chapter for you," I said, trying to encourage her.

Danielle smiled, her confidence returning. "Yes, I believe so. And with your help, Leon, I can make it even better. I've been alone for far too long, but now I have a chance to build something amazing."

With our plans set, Danielle pulled out a device, and it emitted a beam of blue light that seemed to scan the drawing in the dirt. There was no screen on the device, but when she was done, she pressed the only other button on the device.

I was about to ask her what she was doing, but my attention was pulled to the warship Danielle had arrived on. The metal section of the ship opened up, and thousands of bug-like drones flew out, each of them carrying something much bigger than themselves.

Danielle's eyes gleamed with excitement as the drones began to construct the framework of the house and lab based on the plans she had scanned. The precision and speed with which the drones worked were astonishing. It was like witnessing a mega version of my printer, sort of.

"Now that this is on its way, I think it is time you showed me how this computer and printer of yours works, right?" Danielle asked after turning to me, and I smiled.

"Yeah, it is. Since you thoroughly impressed me with all of this, I think that it is only fair that I return the favor," I explained with a smile, Danielle nodded, but I had a plan.

Daryle wanted me to woo his sister over to get her off his back, but that was a tall order for a guy like me. Unlike the other women, I didn't think Daniel was going to fall for me without putting in some serious effort. That meant that I needed to impress her while figuring out how to replace Daryle's place in her heart with myself.

Should be easy for a guy like me, right?

...I really hated lying to myself.
