Reincarnated as the Goddess of the sea.

Chapter – 5

It has now been a thousand years since Xituna was born. I spent the first five hundred years helping Xituna get used to this new world. She has spent the last five hundred years working on her own while I occasionally help her. So far she has been doing a good job in helping the land development.

In the last thousand years, life in the sea and on land has developed significantly. In the sea, there are now mostly small fish and a few larger ones. The smallest fish are small and colourful while the largest look like small sharks. The sea bed is now covered in a coral-like lifeform and seaweed. Many small lifeforms live on the seabed around what are like coral reefs.

On the land there is more of a variety of plants most importantly some edible plants are starting to evolve. These edible plants are important as animal life on land has started to evolve. They are very small at the moment most of them are not much bigger than a mouse.

I have also gained a couple of new skills.

[Language of the sea] – (As the goddess of the sea you know the language that all sea life speaks in. You can talk to any form of sea life.)

[Guiding touch] – (As the goddess of the sea you can change a lifeform however you like. This will affect any life forms of the same species in the future. You can change any life form that belongs in the sea and to an extent any lifeform that has links to the sea but this is much more limited.)

[Divine realm] – (Allows the user to enter the divine realm. Limited only to the primordial goddesses.)

[Divine realm travel] – (Use the divine realm to travel to any point in the world.)

Xituna has similar skills to these as well. Being able to talk to sea life would be helpful if the language currently wasn’t so primitive and basic. All they can communicate to me is their basic thoughts such as they are hungry or their emotions in single words. This skill will hopefully become more helpful in the future when the language develops more.

The skill [Guiding touch] is much more useful at the moment but also the scariest. Theoretically, I could change any sea life form into anything I want. This can either be good and help life flourish in this world or it could lead to creating a lifeform that is too powerful land oppress others. For me, this is the scariest and most worrying skill I have. Big sister Ziella really must trust me not to misuse this skill. I will have to do my best to live up to that trust.
[Divine realm travel] is currently the most powerful as it allows us to travel quicker and do our job easier and more efficiently. It works by connecting two points through the divine realm.

The divine realm is where Ziella lives. It takes the form of a large fantasy style castle. In the castle, I and xituna have our rooms that are decorated specifically to our domains my room is mostly underwater with a few islands. Xitunas room is a forest and our future sister’s room is mostly in the sky. Each of our rooms is the size of a small continent. The castle has other rooms such as ballrooms and a throne room but they are often not used as we are the only ones who can usually enter the realm. The entire realm is filled with divine energy. Divine energy is the energy we primordial goddesses use but if a mortal uses it will shatter their soul and they will forever leave the cycle of reincarnation. When a mortal borrows our power, it is converted into significantly weaker mana. At their strongest, a mortal will at most only be able to use about five percent of the potential power of divine energy. They are limited by the fact that mana is like divine energy that has been significantly watered down and the amount their soul can channel at once.

The divine realm is where Ziella spends most of her time when she is not on her world or she is not in the realm of the true gods. The true gods are those who are born as a god and create their own world. True gods also have almost limitless power mostly when it comes to their world.

At the moment I am helping to rebuild a coral reef that was destroyed in a storm. I am using my divine energy to speed up the growth of the coral and other lifeforms. I watch as the once destroyed coral reef grows before my eyes. It is one of the most beautiful things I have seen, the creation of new life.

Once I finish, I surface and move towards land to see what Xituna is doing. After a bit of travelling, I find Xituna sitting on the beach of an island with something on her lap. Moving closer I see that whatever she has with her looks like some type of animal. It has a long snout with red fur and a fluffy tail.

Moving closer Xituna sees me and stands up. She now holds the animal in her arms. I eventually reach the beach and move onto land.

“Big sister”(Xituna)

She runs up to me smiling.

“Hello Xituna. What do you have here?”(Xyrra)

“It’s a fox that I created.”(Xituna)

“You just created a fox?”(Xyrra)

“Yep, I wanted to try my new skill.”(Xituna)

She tells me this with a beaming smile.

“I understand but why a fox?”(Xyrra)

“Foxes were my favourite animal in my last life and I might have always played as a kitsune in games.”(Xituna)

She says the last part quietly.

“That makes sense. So are you hoping there are going to be kitsune in this world.”(Xyrra)

“I might want some kitsune.”(Xituna)

“You would probably just create them anyway.”(Xyrra)

“I probably will if they don’t evolve naturally.”(Xituna)

“What about humans?”(Xyrra)

“Why would I want to create humans they are not cute or fluffy.”(Xituna)

“So that’s why you like foxes and kitsune because they are cute and fluffy.”(Xyrra)

“Hmph.”(Xituna)

She puffs her cheeks out and looks away. Even after all these years, she is still so cute.
