Chapter 12: Chapter 12 Slime Dungeon

Raze now had his Mana capacity at full, but his HP was still recovering slowly, very slowly; at least slimes won't be that hard to kill.

Slimes were among the weakest monsters in the game, perfect for low-level players or mages like him.

Their jelly-like bodies were soft, and a well-placed fireball could destroy them instantly without damaging their core.

Still, he had to be careful. While a single slime was harmless, in groups, they could overwhelm careless players but he didn't see that happening to him.

His current quest required him to collect 10 slime cores, while the NPC also needed 10, meaning he'd have to defeat at least 20 slimes.

To do that, he would need 20 fireball spells, which would consume 100 Mana, but he only had 50, so he'll have to defeat 25 slimes and absorb 5 of their core to be able to complete the quest, and then his Mana would be empty so he'll have to defeat another 5 to refill.

'I'll just keep it up till I'm satisfied'

The path was well-trodden, with patches of grass and scattered rocks lining the dirt road. Unlike the wolf dungeon, the slime dungeon was pretty straightforward and soon he was at the dungeon door.

Raze stared at the information in front of him. He knew he was in the slime dungeon, but he had no idea what the other two meant; maybe it was a glitch.

The dungeon had a stair made out of rock and dirt that led him downwards till he was deep inside, and from the dungeon walls, blue crystals gave light.

Raze wasn't sure if those crystals would fetch anything since they are very common.

Raze spotted his first slime not far ahead. The glowing blue crystals on the walls gave just enough light to see its wobbly, jelly-like body moving slowly across the dungeon floor. It was small, no bigger than a basketball, and completely unaware of his presence.

Raze raised his hand, focusing his Mana and aiming at the Slime.

"Fireball!"

A bright orb of fire shot forward, striking the slime directly. The creature let out a faint squelching sound before bursting apart, leaving behind a slimy puddle and a small glowing core in the center.

[10 XP gained]

Raze walked over and picked up the core, storing it in his inventory.

The inventory was a small spatial space that was used for storing inanimate objects; all the players had inventory, and to bring something out, you just had to think about it and place your hands in it.

"One down, nineteen to go," he muttered as he continued forward.

Another slime saw him and bounced toward him from deeper into the dungeon. He prepared another fireball, casting it with the same ease. The slime exploded, leaving behind another core.

After 4 slimes, he wasn't even trying anymore; they were beyond weak, and they couldn't get close to him, so it was just a walk in the park.

As he continued, Raze noticed his Mana dropping steadily.

He'd already used 8 fireballs and was halfway done with the quest, but his Mana was low.

[Mana: 12/50]

After killing two more slime, he absorbed 5 crystal cores giving 50 Mana, and he continued.

The slime dungeon was also straight forward, there were just paths that led to a room that led to other paths.

It wasn't long before Raze killed 13 slimes bringing his Exp tally up to 130 and taking him to level 4.

Raze didn't stop there and kept going further in and killing more slimes till he was tired of killing slimes; he had now killed 30 slimes and had 20 crystals along with his Mana capacity at [40/50].

Since he now had 20 slime crystal cores, his quest was complete; he already had wolf fangs, so he now needed to look for the plant, which wasn't going to be hard to find.

Raze began walking back to the entrance, he had passed 2 rooms and 3 paths.

He walked back till he reached the last room before the entrance but something caught his eyes as he stepped in.

A part of the wall was broken, a small part of the wall leaving a hole in the wall, Raze was sure it wasn't there because he looked around when he first stepped into the room.

Raze walked towards the broken wall since he was sure it wasn't a slime, he had killed all the slimes behind him.

He peeked into the hole, but he couldn't see a thing. Then he tried to use his hands to pull the other part of the wall, and it came right off, creating a bigger hole in the wall and one he could see.

Raze looked, and the hole led down to a lower floor; the problem was there were no stairs leading down there, so if he went down, he wouldn't be able to find a way back up.

"I wonder if there is a path inside the dungeon that leads there; I'll like to see...shit!!" Raze shouted as the floor he was standing on crumbled, and before he could make a move, it went down.

*THUD!!*

He landed with a loud thud and a sharp pain in his shoulder; Raze stood up stretching his arm as he looked up.

"Well damn it, just my luck" Raze muttered facing forward.

It seemed a part of the floor had broken off with the wall, and there was no way back up, and then like things couldn't get any worse an information appeared in front of him.
