Chapter 13: Chapter 13 Skeleton Dungeon

Raze dusted himself off, wincing at the ache in his shoulder from the fall, it was a little painful.

The dim blue light from the crystals above barely reached this lower floor, leaving most of the area shrouded in shadows, but another crystal was glowing in the walls, a darker hue of blue.

The system message floated in front of him again, but no other information followed, unlike the way it did with the slime dungeon.

"Maybe it's a joint dungeon that's why I saw those numbers earlier"

Raze narrowed his eyes, glancing around. The floor was cracked stone, and pieces of old, broken bones littered the ground.

"Skeleton Mage? Sounds like bad news... but nothing's attacking yet, and there's a problem, since I didn't find the entrance I have no way of knowing if I'm heading towards the boss or going out of the dungeon"

First, he checked his Mana.

[Mana: 40/50]

His HP was still low from earlier but he had no idea if the call damage was included since it wasn't a big fall.

[HP: 50/70]

"I have to keep moving forward, it's not like I can just stay here and hope for someone to save me"

Suddenly, a dry rattling echoed from ahead. Raze tensed, raising his hand and preparing a spell immediately since he knew it was bad news.

From the darkness, a humanoid figure emerged—bones clanking with each step. A skeleton.

It held a rusty short sword and wore fragments of decayed armor. Its hollow eye sockets glowed faintly blue.

[Skeleton – Level 3]

[HP: 60/60]

Raze exhaled. "A basic undead... This should be manageable, and it's at level 3, I don't see a crystal core so might as well shatter the skeleton to pieces"

"Fireball!"

A flame burst from his palm, soaring through the air and hitting the skeleton directly in the chest. The explosion knocked it back and sent it to the ground, scorching the ribs but not destroying it completely.

[Skeleton Warrior HP: 10/60]

"More than one fireball? Of course, they're tougher than slimes."

The skeleton stood up staggering but quickly recovered, raising its sword. It lunged forward.

[Water Slash]

A thin blade of water shot towards the skeleton, diving the top half from the lower half, and after that, the skeleton fell to the ground and shattered into pieces.

[You've defeated Skeleton]

[20 XP gained]

Raze walked through the skeleton, and now that he was close, the head was giving off a little light, and he lifted the skull to find a crystal core in there.

He quickly pulled his hand in and pulled it out, "So they do have crystal core," Raze muttered as he absorbed it, regaining the 10 Mana he lost to the fight.

"Skeletons are slow, so unless they ambush me, I'm always going to get the first strike; what if I separate the head from the rest of the body?" Raze thought in his head as he slowly continued forward.

The path had a turn and then a straight one where he didn't find any more skeletons, but then he arrived at the end where he had to make a decision.

There were three paths in front of him, and he couldn't see where any of them led; he was sure there were still other paths since he came from a dead end, but still, he took the right path.

With his current stats, if he met the skeleton boss then it would be an unfortunate situation since he would most likely be killed.

Raze continued forward and then he met some more skeletons, his time 3 of them at the same time.

The skeleton turned towards him, but they were still far away, and Raze wasn't sure about the range of his water slash spell, so he waited for the skeleton to come to him.

All of them walked slowly, but one among them was in front, walking at a steady pace, and soon Raze fired his first spell.

[Water Slash]

The blade of water shot forward, slicing through the leading skeleton's neck. Just like Raze thought, the skeleton fell to the ground, and its bones scattered.

[You've defeated Skeleton]

[20 XP gained]

The other two skeletons were closing in fast, their swords raised as they charged toward Raze, but something else came to his mind, and he placed his hands on the ground.

[Stone Spike]

From where the skeleton stood, a spike of stone erupted from the ground, impaling them and shattering their bodies.

[You're defeated Skeleton×2]

[40 Exp gained]

Raze took a deep breath, standing up as the system message appeared; soon, the spike he created broke down into debris along with the body of the skeleton.

Raze walked towards the skeleton and knelt, checking the bones.

He got all three crystal cores, which he absorbed two and placed the other time in his inventory.

[Inventory]

[160 Bronze coins]

[1 Silver coin]

[F-tier crystal: 28]

[E-tier crystal: 1]

Raze looked at the information in front of him; he currently had 28 F-tier crystals, of which 20 were the slime crystals he needed for his quest.

He continued forward until where he met two other paths; without thinking about it, Raze took the right path again.

"Why the hell did I get curious about the hole?" Raze sighed as he kept walking. He had been walking for a while now, and he had no idea where he was or where he was going.
