The Married Life Of Immortals

Bane watched the three women and Angar tread carefully over to the demon that was hiding, but he wasn't really paying that much attention. No, Bane was much more interested in the baggy of pink dust he had collected.

"So? What do you think will happen if I put this up my nose?" Bane mused before licking the tip of his pinky and sticking it in the baggy.

'Nothing good, but it won't kill you, if that is what you are curious about,' Onyx replied, and Bane shrugged, rubbing his pinky on the inside of his gums.

The powder instantly absorbed into Bane's body as he became stiff as a board, unable to move an inch as the veins in his neck stood up, turning blue. It wasn't overly painful, but it was the first time Bane had ever been hit with such an unreasonable amount of power that it froze him in place.

'Is this normal? How the hell does this stuff pack such a punch?!' Bane complained, still trying to break out of his paralysis, but it was to no avail.

'I did say nothing good could come from it, but you are just going to have to wait until your body figures out what to do with this new energy. While it is still partially demonic energy, it has been mixed with the special crystal used to make the soul prisons, and I know nothing about the second one. My guess is that it is similar to the first, but with an increased absorption rate.' Onyx explained, but then sighed. 'Just give up and wait, I have no idea how long this is going to take, but it could take years.'

'Oh, joy,' Bane muttered as his mind wandered back to the other four, who had found the demon hiding behind the pink glass pillar.

"Who are you, and what are you doing here?" Elexis demanded, but the demon just laughed.

"I am the one that has been watching you! The new Empress Zerifa requested that I capture the women, and get rid of you!" The demon laughed, but then it turned its green face with three piss yellow eyes to Angar with disgust. "But there is no need for you, Fallen One."

Angar stepped forward, and the pink crystal cracked under his foot as he launched forward without hesitation. Just the mention of his clearly estranged wife made his blood boil, and the real Demon Emperor livid. Barely even a week had passed, and Zerifa had already claimed his position as leader of all demons. Even worse, she had sent his own assassination squad to kill him; the Ravens.

A massive black double edged battle ax appeared in Angar's hands as he slashed in a crescent arc with blinding speed, but the demon just smiled as a burning black and red rapier appeared in its hands to block the strike. In the next instant, another large demon crashed down into Angar from the sky at extreme speeds.

The ground shattered as the fat red demon crushed Angar into the ground, eviscerating the demon emperor with all the shattered pink glass. A moment later, a massive fireball shot into the red demon, but the demon just shrugged it off as it jumped back into the sky. As it did, another demon with one eye and a black and red suit of armor appeared floating, staring down at Bane.

"Are you really going to just stand there? Or is the human too scared?" The one eyed demon asked, but Zerynthia suddenly shot up from the ground.

"I will kill you, Carlexios!" The demon phoenix screamed, but the leader of the Ravens, Carlexios, just gave her an disgusted look and waved a gauntleted hand.

In the next instant, Zerynthia's entire body was encased in a dark purple crystal, and it fell back to the ground. Both Elexis and Nia watched this happen, but with another motion from Carlexios, they two were encased.

With a disappointed sigh, Carlexios lowered itself down to the human that was covered in dark blue, almost purple veins. "You still choose to stand still after all of this?"

If there was one thing Bane felt right now, it was annoyance at himself. He could easily get angry, but the last minute had taught him that it wouldn't help. No, he was stuck in place, just waiting. Things could be better, but Bane also knew they could be much worse.

"Still nothing?" Carlexios asked with a sneer, and then a pair of glowing red daggers appeared in his hands. "What if I start cutting you to pieces?"

A loud thud beside him made Carlexios look over. "Do you have them stored, Garrex?"

The fat red demon nodded, but then pointed to Bane. "Zerifa wants him to stay alive."

Carlexios shrugged. "I didn't plan on killing him. I just wanted to have some fun, and you have to admit that him just standing here is an opportunity that is hard to pass up."

In the next instant, Carlexios made two lightning fast cuts, causing both of Bane's hands to be severed at the wrist. The demon laughed, but stopped when new hands grew back before the severed ones could hit the ground.

"What the fuck is this?!" Carlexios growled, and slashed again, this time decapitating Bane. "He doesn't even have a soul!"

"Maybe it is the girl?" Garrex suggested, but then his eyes narrowed at the head on the ground. "It is also moving!"

"Fuck!" Carlexios growled as the body stood up, and the head rolled forward, coming to rest on top of the shoulders.

Bane blinked a few times, and then looked over at the two demons with a bored expression.

"Thank you for that," Bane said after stretching his jaw a bit, but the rest of his body was still trying to absorb the pink dust. "Seems you boys got me real good this time, and you took my women. Pretty basic thing to do, but not really a demon thing to do, right? What did this queen offer you?"

Carlexios didn't attack again. Something was clearly wrong. This human should be terrified, but it just stood there calmly.

"Not big on talking? Could have fooled me with all the shit you were just spouting!" Bane laughed, but then sighed. "Listen, we are all reasonable people here, and I am willing to just overlook this whole thing. Just put the women back, and cut your own heads off. Pretty sweet deal, if you ask me."

Bane gave them both a smirk, but they just stared at him.

"Fine, how about you tell me what I want to know, and I will kill you quickly? Sound good?"

The two demons finally shook their heads, but they were nervous. This human was strange, but they knew that the best course of action was to just get rid of him and deliver the women. If they didn't, there would be no telling what Zerifa might do to them.

"Fine, be that way," Bane said with a frown, but then smiled brightly. "Go on your merry way, but I am gonna find you! I know what you smell like, and I plan on using you as a test subject for something I have been curious about! I was a little on the fence before, but as you said, you are taking my annoying whores. I will have to repay the favor, clearly. I do not like owing debts."

Both demons just stared at Bane for a moment, but then Carlexios turned to Garrex. "Take them to Zerifa, I will finish this!"

"Don't be stupid," the last demon with three eyes snarled. "We are all leaving, or none of us will survive. The Fallen One is dead, and the girls are captured, and the human is still alive. Mission complete."

Carlexios sneered, but turned away from Bane. While he wanted to take his anger out on this human, he knew better than to go against the other's decision. It wasn't often that they all agreed on something, but there had always been one thing that they had agreed on. They had always made sure the other survived, and right now, they weren't going to allow Carlexios to throw his life away, because it would also forfeit theirs.

"Fine, let's go," Carlexios growled as they all took off into the air.
