You Are Deep in The Stars

Chapter 6 - Gems and Stars, Mr. Han Who Neglected His Duty I

In the living room, covered with pure white wool carpets, Daisy leaned on the sofa, looking seriously at her son in front of her, her eyes affectionate, soft, and even a little loving – and after taking off her enchanting makeup, at that moment, her entire face looked much softer than before. If people were careful enough, they could even have found fine wrinkles around her beautiful eyes.

“I’m old,” she said sadly.

Han Zhuo had no expression on his face as he reached out to tear off the wrinkle stickers from the corners of her eyes.

.

The grown-up son was the most boring creature in the world.

Daisy sighed from the bottom of her heart. Finally, she compromised and took out a slender cigarette from the cigarette box. She narrowed her eyes and puffed out smoke rings. “Tell me, who wanted to kidnap your client?”

Han Zhuo replied, “It’s from the underground warehouse.”

Daisy hesitated slightly. “Are you sure?”

Han Zhuo nodded. “I’m sure.”

.

The bell of the municipal square rang in the distance, “ding dang” seven times, announcing that the night had officially arrived.

The bar street gradually became lively, filled with blurry lights, passionate music, crowded dance floors, and rows of wine glasses filled with various liquids. People took off their strict faces during the day and socialized, relaxed, and got drunk here, crying, laughing, noisy. The world was also turned upside down in the spilled red wine.

The bartender took the bill from the customer without even looking at it and stuffed it into the messy drawer, as if he was treating it like the cheapest draft. What he liked were gems. In fact, many people on this street liked gems, shiny, dazzling, cold, luxurious, twinkling like stars, and as out of reach as stars.

In this city, not only were there earthlings living there, but also a large group of… superpowers. They came from another distant planet. If expressed in human words, it should be translated as “gems and stars.”

A beautiful name and a hometown they could never go back to.

A thousand years ago, a spacecraft had an accident while traveling across the galaxy and had to choose the earth as an emergency landing point. Some people died as a result, but many people survived. They were scarred and struggled to crawl out of the protective air bags, looking at the strange world around them in panic and confusion.

It was a vast grassland. The nomads who heard the news rescued them. They not only brought food and water but also helped bury the wreckage of the spacecraft. Since then, there had been more than a dozen tents in the tribe, and a group of guests from extragalactic galaxies had appeared on earth. They remained anonymous, worked hard, carefully adapted to everything around them, and reproduced in this way from generation to generation. At the beginning, there were detailed written records, but as the years gradually passed, today, no one could tell clearly how many aliens were hidden on earth.

The so-called “underground warehouse” was a code name. To be more precise, it was an illegal scientific research institution. They had been tirelessly tracking people with supernatural powers, looking for all possible clues, just like the most ardent fans, but… using the cruelest methods.

“Where is your client?” Daisy asked, putting out the cigarette butt. “Is he also a person with superpowers? He can make the underground warehouse go against you. He should be famous.”

Han Zhuo shook his head. “He is from Earth.”

Daisy opened her eyes wide. “An earthling?”

.

The car sped through the night, and Bai Xi was curled up on the back seat, covered in cold sweat. After he finished his report at the head office in the afternoon, maybe it was because he was too nervous then he caught a cold. In short, it felt like a cold blender was stuffed into his stomach. He remained silent and rested alone in the office, waiting for nearly an hour and drinking seven or eight cups of hot water before he felt a little better.

There was a dinner party in the evening, and Bai Boyang didn’t notice anything unusual about his son. He only heard that Han Zhuo was not here, so he transferred his car to him.

Of course, there was a lot of drinking at the dinner party. Although Bai Xi tried his best to control it, it still inevitably caused a round of stomach pain. The driver didn’t dare to be careless and drove him directly to the hospital. Half an hour later, Mrs. Bai sat in front of the hospital bed and examined Young Master Bai from head to toe.

Bai Xi was weak, half asleep and half awake, listening to the two people arguing while dreaming.

He didn’t know how long it took, but he felt himself being hugged by someone. He wanted to open his eyes, but he really didn’t have the strength. The dark and sweet dreams were like soft feathers, gently covering him layer by layer, quietly comfortable, making him not want to leave for a moment.

This dream was very long, with tiny lights shining everywhere.

The discomfort in his stomach gradually disappeared, and Bai Xi laid on the bed, feeling like he was walking among clouds. Someone seemed to be laughing softly in his ear.

Han Zhuo flicked his fingers in the air, and a floating glow fell down around Bai Xi.
