You Are Deep in The Stars

Chapter 6 - Gems and Stars, Mr. Han Who Neglected His Duty II

It wasn’t until noon the next day that Bai Xi pushed away the quilt and sat up. With his messy hair on his head, he stretched out comfortably.

“Morning,” Han Zhuo stood at the door, “Can I come in?”

Bai Xi yawned and asked, “Why is the house so quiet?”

“Mr. Bai and Mrs. Bai have an appointment, and Aunt Li forbids me from talking loudly,” Han Zhuo said, helping him put on his slippers neatly. “She severely criticized me for what happened last night for an hour and explicitly prohibited me from making the same mistake next time.”

“My parents are not at home?” Bai Xi breathed a sigh of relief after hearing this and fell straight back on the bed. Since no one could criticize him at the moment, he could just wait for another half hour.

“It’s time for you to get up and eat,” Han Zhuo reminded.

“No appetite,” Bai Xi refused.

“I heard that you performed well at the group meeting yesterday,” Han Zhuo said, pulling him up forcefully.

“Of course,” Bai Xi replied, pulling the quilt and wrapping himself in it. “Okay, okay, I want to sleep.”

“You’ll get a stomachache after missing two consecutive meals,” Han Zhuo said patiently. “Be obedient and sleep at night.”

“Help! There is bad guy!” Bai Xi, possessed by Liu Chunchun at this moment, protested with a hoarse voice.

Footsteps echoed on the stairs. Han Zhuo knew something was wrong and decisively covered Bai Xi’s mouth. However, it was obviously a step too late. Aunt Li appeared like a magical warrior, standing at the door with a shovel in her hand and a shocked and angry expression. She criticized Mr. Han, asking why he covered the young master’s mouth when he was still sick and expressing disbelief at his poor professional skills.

Bai Xi weakly laid back on the bed, agreeing with Aunt Li’s criticism.

Han Zhuo attempted to argue, “But it’s time for lunch.”

Bai Xi simply buried himself further under the quilt, revealing only a pair of sleepy eyes. With his eyes closed, he complained hoarsely, “I don’t want to get up.”

“If the young master doesn’t want to get up, he won’t get up,” Aunt Li asserted forcefully, then turned to Mr. Han. “Come and help carry the young master’s meal. He’ll eat in bed.”

Bai Xi silently made a victory gesture.

Outnumbered, Mr. Han complied and helped set up a small table on the bed, adorned with pink hearts and princesses, a gift originally meant for Aunt Li’s granddaughter but now lent to Bai Xi.

Lunch consisted of fish soup and noodles. Wrapped in his quilt, Bai Xi casually asked while eating, “Where did you go yesterday? I noticed the car was always in the parking lot.”

“It’s not convenient to use Mr. Bai’s car for personal matters,” Han Zhuo explained. “I took some time to visit a friend. She lives on Qiye Road.”

“Qiye Road, the bar street?” Bai Xi grimaced. He poked Han Zhuo with his chopsticks and warned, “You start hooking up as soon as you arrive; be careful of trouble in the future.”

Han Zhuo smiled and shook his head. “Just ordinary friends.”

“No matter what kind of friend they are, as long as they don’t cause trouble for me, as long as they don’t seduce my employees, the rest is up to you,” Bai Xi said, slurping soup from the bowl. Then he remembered something. “By the way, you’re not allowed to take leave this weekend. Come with me to pick up Chunchun from the hospital.”

Mr. Han nodded and used a tissue to wipe the young master’s mouth.

.

As darkness settled on Saturday, light rain drizzled from the sky, continuing until early morning. In the vast inpatient area, only a few nurses occasionally ran past with carts. At around nine o’clock, a somewhat old KIA car hurriedly entered the garage. Not long after, the elevator on the 17th floor opened with a “ding.”

A man and a woman emerged, appearing to be a couple in their forties or fifties. They looked anxious and were dressed simply. Instead of approaching the nurse’s desk for consultation, they headed directly towards the ward area.

“Hello,” someone called out behind them. “Are you Mr. Zhao and Mrs. Zhao?”

Zhao Yuejin and his wife stopped and glanced at each other. They looked at the woman who called them.

She was a noble and elegant woman, with long black hair neatly tied atop her head. She wore a sleek business suit and pointed stiletto shoes, exuding a proud demeanor.

“Hello, I’m Liu Chunchun’s aunt,” Daisy said, looking at the couple in front of her and lied, “I was the one who made the call just now.” Then she asked, “How should I address you?”

“My surname is Zhao,” Zhao Yuejin replied hesitantly.

“My surname is Liu,” Daisy said, adjusting her gold-rimmed glasses and smiling. “You can call me Lawyer Liu.”

In the underground garage of the hospital, Bai Xi looked at the old car before him and remarked, “Why are they here?”

“Who?” Han Zhuo inquired.

“The driver who caused the accident, remember? Zhao Yuejin, this is his car,” Bai Xi explained, checking the license plate number. “Did he come to pick up Chunchun from the hospital?”

Han Zhuo frowned slightly and pressed the elevator button. “Are Yu Jiong and the others here?”

“I woke up late, and they’re still on the way,” Bai Xi said, holding a large bouquet of flowers that completely obscured his view, adorned in romantic pink hues, perfectly suited to Liu Chunchun’s preferences.

“Let’s go,” Han Zhuo instructed, gesturing for Bai Xi to enter the elevator first. As he turned to close the door, he caught sight of Zhao Yuejin and his wife following someone… Daisy? He was startled, but before he could take a closer look, the trio had already boarded a car and driven away.
